Over the summer we had the first season clear out and I mean clear out. 16 players left on free transfers freeing up 245k worth of wage budget.

We also had a few first team fringe players leave Signal Iduna Park. Scheiber and Grobkreatz bringing in a combined 10.5 million with Kirch and Sobiech leaving for 1.5 million each.

Now with all that going out we had alot of room to groom this club into my own.



First up was the glaring weakness I noticed at left back with Schemlzer who started most games last season and finished nearly a whole point average rating than the next lowest. This was not acceptable for my first choice left back. I was also looking for a more attacking fullback.

Lucas Digne



Having searched around for some young fullbacks I spotted Lucas Digne from Lille. The young wing back looked the perfect candidate for the spot and I managed to get him for 2.5 million with 5 million over 2 years.

At just 20 years of age the young Frenchman looks a class player. he already has all the top attributes of an attacking fullback and will only grow with games.



My next target was to start to look at replacing a deteriorating Wiedenfeller in goal. He has served Dortmund well but coming up 34 and his stats dropping quickly there is no time for sentiment when chasing glory. I wont ship him off yet as he is still more than good enough for cover but we need a top class Keeper.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen



So I went and completely wound up our neighbours Gladbach and signed the wonder boy Stegen. At 21 he is already one of the best Keepers in the world. Being from Gladbach and one of the best Keepers it was always going to be an expensive one. We managed to come to an agreement on 7.5 million with 12 million over 2 years.

More than happy to pay that though as I am getting a top class Keeper for probably 10 years. Just look at those stats.



One of the last things I realised was how damn lucky I was that Lewandoski didn't pick up a single injury. Considering he scored. 30 goals in 48 appearances and I didn't have a single decent option upfront apart from him I doubt we would have made the top 4 if he picked up a nasty injury.

I couldn't afford to have this happen next season especially with my only other senior striker Scheiber leaving I needed healthy competition for Lewandoski

Ademilson



I probably paid a little too much for 20 year old "wonderkid" Ademilson but I believe he will become something special and I believe he can give me a headache upfront.

He looks like he has all the stats to become a top striker but he needs the games and training to get him there.


So I have now got the core of my team together and will be looking to line up something like this.



Will of course rotate the fringe players in but that looks like it would be my strongest team. The last thing I would like to point out is that Moritz Lietner bought for 645k is keeping Maher out of the starting lineup at the moment.


Time to let the kids loose!

OK with an already strong squad I didn't really need to make any transfers and with only 3 million I wasn't really able too.

I did however give the back room staff a complete overhaul and brought in the talented Valdir De Moraes as my Assistant.



We had a solid campaign in the Bundesliga coming runners up as Bayern were just too much and ran away with the Title winning it by nearly 10 points. Lots of work to do to become the powerhouses we are aiming for.



We had a good champions league finishing 2nd in a group of Arsenal, Zenit and Red Bull Salazbury and were then haunted by the group winners Aresnal and knocked out in the Quarters.

Barca went on to win it.



Finally we did make one signing in the Winter and that was the young Dutch star Adam Maher from AZ for 7.5 million. As we will be playing 4-1-2-3 I was looking for a bit of flair to develop in the middle of the park and he looks like the real deal.



Apart from that it was nice to get the first season done and really start getting into this save and I look forward to turning this young Dortmund side into European giants.
