Seriously you think that would be the worst decision by an England manager? Not the choice to replace Defoe with Heskey when we need goals, or to pick a 16yo Theo Walcott to go to the WC and not play him? Or to have not only picked Joey Barton for the England squad but to actually play him.

Rooney would be a great captain. Your captain needs to give 100% and lead by example, who else in the England team give more than Rooney

Yeah i think it will work.

quickly going back to Baines, that is my point with England if Baines is the best attacking English left back and definately the second best defending left back then why should he not be considered as the first choice for England, with the center backs we have we can afford to have Baines on and attacking rather than use Cole and only be effective down the right

This is just untrue. Cole has been probably the best left back in the world for about 7-8 years. You're seriously underrating him here. I suspect you support Man Utd?

Yeah i am hence the avatar (no offense) and i completely agree with you Cole has BEEN the best left back in the world for the last 7-8 years but then again Torres WAS the best striker in the premier league 3-4 years ago, just because he was doesn't mean that he still is. Cole's main strength was he pace which he used to pin the opposing winger back in his own half and then his team mates produced goal scoring chances through crosses and such.

Baines just produces so much more in terms of an attacking threat and he's just as good as Cole at defending but Cole's positioning is better

Wasn't a dive, Ameobi caught him and it was a free kick but Lopez started rolling around and even stopped halfway through his rolls to see if Ameobi was gonna get booked and then rolled again a few more times to ensure that he did

Baines isn't better than Cole though - that's you just saying things.

As an all rounder Baines is way better, he's a better crosser, he's better at getting forward, he's a fantastic set piece taker and he gives 100% in every match.

The only thing Cole really has over him is that he's slightly faster (although he's losing his pace now) and he's great at knowing when to get on the goal line to stop the ball going in (see Chelsea's CL matches against Barca last season)

This may have been posted before and if so i'm sorry for starting the thread again, but what the hell is up with the player instructions?

I'm playing a Poacher in a 4-5-1 formation and he's set to run with the ball often and shoot from distance is set to rare, yet in every game i play at least twice a match he gets the opportunity to run into a gap between 2 defenders into the box and then have a shot 1 on 1 with the keeper and yet every time he gets this opportunity he takes 1 touch when he's around 5-10 yards out of the box and has a really hopeful and ultimately wasted shot that has no chance of going in.

Now this has to be a ME problem right?

I dunno i still think that they're kinda dodgy, i played an FA cup match against Dag & Red with Everton and Baines had 3 free kicks on target saved when they were going in the corners of the goal and then they scored 1 with a free kick from a player of FK taking 11 against Tim Howard

I kept him in the end and it was a good job really he's been brilliant over the second half of the season.........then again this is my second season and in both this one and the first one my team has been great until new year and then shit afterwards except in a few games

I've only just started my second season so i can't really recommend anyone that far in, but what i'd do is search through the brazilian teams and see if they have any good strikers with a low minimum release fee.

Hey interesting idea to start at the other end of the challenge, along with Shedender and Dan's it'll be interesting to see which side hits "The Wall" in terms of how long you have to stay in a specific country or league first.

Very quickly on your signings, i actually went to school with Jamie Price (that you signed from Newtown), he was a few years above me but i remember him because he was quite well know in our school as he was a trainee with Birmingham City

I've not got a picture of it at the moment (I'll try get one tomorrow) but after a run of not getting a win in 5 matches with my Everton team (including 2 draws against 10 men) I got a well deserved 2-1 win against Man Utd (they had 10 men and 2 disallowed goals)
