Johan Lange left the club for tottenham because he was made surplus and given a new role position as a business director for global market but he was effectively the sporting director and technical director, he was replaced by monchi and damian vidagany and pushed as a director who later on got replaced by kidson who is effectively not directly part of the operations to the team but a director in the business

Researched more extensively to his duties and responsibilities he is head of appointment of the sporting director and all of the football operations as president this makes him a technical director as he deals with contracts for the football staff.
Kidson is not a director but a global strat person as a normal director and monchi is de facto the micro ceo to the club as the technical director

Monchi isn't the sporting director/director of football of aston villa but essentially a micro ceo/technical director head of the football operations for appointing staff for the football directly working below the owners, the club has two micro ceos president of business (outside of football) and president of football (i.e monchi) who is the managing director who overseas all the hires made for football from the owners, he appoints the managers and staff. Damian Vidagany is the actual sporting director responsible for the signings
