Stoke and Cardiff have announced a swap deal for Odemwingie and Kenwyne Jones.

Or a "swop" deal as the official Stoke City Twitter put it.

I'm guessing Mame Biram Diouf was Solskjær's 1st choice but couldn't afford to match Hannover's asking price for the player.

Awful injury for Oviedo. His ankle was pointing a way it shouldn't. Looks like his World Cup is over.

That sucks as Costa Rica would have an awesome full back pair in Oviedo and Cristian Gamboa (Rosenborg).

Molde striker Jo Inge Berget is being linked with a move to Cardiff having been observed with both his agent Jim Solbakken and former team-mate Wolff Eikrem in UK in the last couple of days. Cardiff are in serious trouble if Solskjær's only going to bring in players who all share Solbakken as an agent (him being one of Solskjær's best mates and former business partner). A Wimbledon 2.0 could well be on the cards.

Abdi Ibrahim, who's spent the two last seasons on loan at Strømsgodset from Man City, said in an interview recently that he felt sorry for young talents signing for City as 'they would never get a chance of playing'. He's now been linked with a move to a bunch of Premier League, Ligue 1 and Eredivisie sides for the past month or so.

How good is he? What sort of midfielder is he?

He was player of the season for a title winning Strømsgodset. He's a passing player who's calm on the ball, has great vision and a decent left foot on him too. I'm pretty sure Celtic is the best option available for him out there in terms of player development and taking the step out of Norway. Obviously still got a lot to learn, but 's a good deal for both parts I believe.

I don't think it would be wise of Solskjær to bring in too many familiar faces from Molde to Cardiff. 1) Neither of them are good enough to immediately strengthen this Cardiff side imo and 2) it could easily be used against him if they were to perform poorly.

Dæhli is something special however, but would still be a signing for the future and who knows if Solskjær's still at the club by the end of the season. Eikrem is a personal favorite of Solskjær though and was seen in the stands at St. James' Park today so I'm guessing he'll be his first signing. I've also seen Mame Biram Diouf's name pop up since Solskjær took over. Apparently he's been given £25M to spend in the January transfer window by Vincent Tan.

Looks like Magnus Wolff Eikrem (Heerenveen) will be Solskjær's first signing for Cardiff. Eikrem played under him in both Man Utd reserves team and Molde.

Molde players Ørjan Nyland, Vegard Forren (S'oton flop) and Mads Dæhli (ex Man Utd) are also linked with a move to Cardiff because of the Solskjær/Molde link.
