So my ending to the month of June saw the team and myself go undefeated but not without some trouble. The defence is an area of weakness and with the transfer window open in a month or so I have to hold it out until then until I can strengthen it. Brazilian striker Jair is class, seems to score goals for fun at this level.
Breathing down the neck of the leaders. Still much work to do mind. Coming to the closing part of the season, and the board want promotion. Pressure is on to deliver.

Sting Chiba Overview:
So the media circus I have created here in Japan will either boost me or be the creation of my downfall. So after something like 20 odd days I moved club, for the better? Who knows. But I want to manage clubs who have a little bit of history or something about them. I know Chiba or JEF United as they are known and it was a gamble to go for the job because in reality I should have been grateful to the Raiders for giving me a job after being unemployed for so long. However the time is now and the next part of the journey will take place with Sting Chiba.
Once a club that was a regular in the J1 league but in recent times have found themselves to be on a slight slump. We have been predicted to finish in the promotion places and the board have made this clear to me. The club has a similar reputation and facilities to that of the Raiders and as I have said earlier I hope to build on the foundations that are at the club and develop the infrastructure.
So there is the basic background about the club. What it doesn't mention is that the club did at one time have some links with Liverpool FC.
A competitive squad with the areas of address is to be between the posts and another center back. Could do with another quality forward but I cannot complain with what I have to work here with.
Not that far off the top and in the play off spot as it stands. It looks positive so just need to keep building on it.

So pressure was on despite my public apology and the club in questioning refusing to pay compensation despite being interest in me. I felt it was best for both parties what I did next ...
As soon as I resigned ...
So the plot thickens ... I am now with a side that will get me to my target in theory quicker and I have a reasonably big club in my hands.

So 3 games and 3 wins. Beat 2nd place side Mitaka, something I could not believe.
There may well be a twist. A job with another club in the league has appeared and I have applied, no guarantee I will get it, but it's a team that some may reconsign from Pro Evolution Soccer and have appeared in other media things. Cannot reveal but after only 21 or so days in the job I have already upset the fans. Ouch.

Hakodate Raiders Overview:
The next part of the adventure takes place in Japan. It's been just short of a year being unemployed, a combination of things meant that I didn't get a job for some time. Was really fussy with where I wanted to go, who I managed, what league and I also underestimated how much my reputation hadn't advanced with winning the OCL. Even rejected by small clubs in the N-League in South Korea, what's up with that? I therefore took the first job in Asia that came my way after the period of drought.
So here is a brief overview of the club, due to licensing I don't have an information screen or previous history. So this is my first professional club on the save and this will be great for me as I will be able to mould a squad ready for a push for promotion in the future. I know really little about the club but I can gather from the fancy graph they have made a climb through the the leagues in Japan.
So nothing for 15 years. If I can at least move this club forward and progress my career here then I will be more than happy.
So it's not pretty viewing that table but there is a glimmer of hope here. I am confident that I can turn the team round and do it within the remaining part of the season and mount a serious push for the play off spot. Anything less and I will see it as failure.
It seems we are weakest at the back. Plans are a foot to sort that but with a limit of 5 foreign players already reached I need to ship the rubbish out. Time is of the essence now.

Close to a year applying for jobs ... sometimes it takes a while. Obviously my victory in New Zealand have not reached the shores yet and clubs are reluctant to give me a go.
So my next move is to Japan with the Hakodate Raiders.

Away from home and we have taken a big advantage into the second stage of the final. Boys just got to keep focused now, it's all down to them to ensure that we get the OCL Trophy.
Well seen off boys, considering that the squad is an amateur one and we just beaten a semi-pro side, this is huge. It wasn't a comfortable second leg. Auckland came all out and scored two good goals. They were able to exploit gaps and holes in out system but the difference between us? Well that would be the guys who can finish. That's the difference between an Auckland win and us actually winning. We just had players who could finish.
So there we are. Time to clean up and pack my stuff up, onto the next part of the journey.

So our arch rivals stand between us and glory. I really would love to win this and get a continent knocked off early.

First leg we dominated, should have scored more and could have easily conceded some.
So what happened in the second leg of the League Final?
So there we have it. Won the league and the league cup. However still got the OCL knockout stages to concentrate on. This is what really matters now.
Onto the Welsh and New Zealand leader board. So there is a start.

So the semi's saw us beat YoungHeart. However the first leg saw us comeback to win with only 10 men. We were 1-0 down and some late pressure ensured we came away from the game with victory. Then in the second leg we just soaked up the pressure and countered to score.
We play Auckland in the Final but before that we have another OCL group game.

So Feb was another good month. It was quite funny and I wish I had screenshot it, but the Ba manager ahead of our game in the OCL said he didn't fancy playing us because he feared that we would give them another hiding hahaha. Krishna found his scoring shoes, I made the call not to select him for the Cup Final against Auckland. I think it inspired him.
So that left the table to look like this and out opponents would be in the semi finals of the league.

Undefeated month which saw us dominate the competition. Tired legs were shown against Waikato with former front man Pearce determined to spoil the show. Luckily for us he had a decent game but not good enough to secure a win for Waikato.

One piece of news before the next update. In the last few hours of the transfer window I had to fight off competition from YoungHearts and Waikato to keep hold of wide man Allan Pearce. They had been chasing him earlier but he was staying with us. I offered him another deal which he accapted and then as I clicked continue I find that Waikato offered him a deal and he signed. To say I am annoyed with him is an understatement.

December saw us finish off the year undefeated and winning every game in the month. Biggest game came against Auckland, a very much crunch game. It was a big game for the club for two reasons, a win would put a gap between us and Auckland and also it was the return of Rory Krishna from injury. It was becoming a dull affair with Mulligan's goal separating both sides. The introduction of Krishna saw him scoring a goal and then proceeded to create havoc in the Auckland box. Auckland could not cope and eventually capitulated and the flood gates opened.

So November was an interesting month. Conclusion to the OCL and the beginning of the League Cup. Dispatched Kossa in the OCL but failed to take our chances against a weak Hawke's Bay side. In the last game until March time in the OCL we saw off an interesting Tafea side but really the game will be remembered for Burgess outstanding hat-trick. 4 days later we played Team Wellington and managed to throw the game away with 20 mins left, conceding a penalty in the last minuet of the game to allow Wellington to level the game, in a game which they deserved nothing from. We ended the month off strongly beating a strong Waikato side and also a tricky Hawke's Bay.
We have a 4 game period in December before a month gap in the fixture list.

First month of games completed. Got to say a good month. It started away to league challengers Auckland City. We were outclassed and outplayed, however we were able to steal a goal thanks to that man Ross McKenzie. Opening game in the OCL see us comfortably beat Ba of Fiji, they only scored in stoppage time. Considering the squad was out on it's feet there is a lot of character there. Ended the month dispatching Canterbury. Next month once again see's us with a busy period with 6 games.

So the transfer window shut on the eve of the first league game. Did quite a bit of business. Got rid of quite a bit but brought in quite a bit. Really happy with what we picked up. Still concerned that the goalkeeper position is still weak but it's something I hope to address in the next window. Ross McKenzie and Che Bunce are the players I am really happy to pick up. Good players for us.

Pre-Season went well. Tested out a few formations and tested out different players. Didn't go to plan against Napier but we were able to put things right against Lower Hutt. Season is just around the corner and first up ... rivals Auckland City.

Waitakere United Overview
So the adventure begins for this unknown Welsh football manager from Aberystwyth. As Rick eluded to in his post, I felt the best way to move on with this save was to start in New Zealand and with a club that could almost immediately give me a chance of winning the OCL. A big club in terms of Oceanic football straight away is a big. So exciting times, starting off on the other side of the world in what some say, is the brother of Wales or is that Wales is it's brother?
So I found out the club was Amateur in status. Slightly worrying if I want to keep the best players at the club. Ok, ok I am slightly going over the top with that, I wasn't expecting club status like this, was hoping they were Semi-Pro like all the other clubs in the league. We are predicted to end up 2nd in the league, very achievable if you ask me. The big rival for the club is Auckland City (not listed weirdly enough) and it really should be between us two on who will win the league and probably the OCL.
A small ground and we have ok facilities. Depending on how long I am here I will hopefully try and improve the infrastructure to ensure the club is looked after for in the future.
Financially the club is ok, again the aim is to ensure that I don't spend what I don't have. Sometimes this is more difficult than possible. But we will see. I am not going to financially ruin the club, I aim to ensure that the club will be better off to again ensure its safe keeping in the future.
Have some outstanding players in Fijian international Roy Krishna and New Zealand international David Mulligan. The squad needs improving at the back, but we shall see what I can get hold of.
So there are trophies in the cabinet and in 2007 and 2008 Waitakere won the OCL. It's not that long ago and certainly the main team to watch out for is Auckland.
New Zealand Championship and OCL come at me!

So there we have it folks. Waitakere United in New Zealand is the club I am starting off with. A club that has had previous success in the New Zealand League as well as the Oceanic Champions League.
More information about the club in the next update.

So where to start? South Korea like last time and with one club that is close to my heart ... Gangneung City? Or do I chance my luck with applying for the mighty Blue Wings? I know I know, it's far to early to have a crack at the big teams just at this moment in time. But surely sending my CV won't do my no harm.
So where I will land?
