As much as I dislike Ronaldo and Portugal, I'd love to see them get the better of Wales on Wednesday and for one reason only...to get Savage off the commentary. Literally nearly muted the match earlier as I couldn't be dealing with his annoying voice!

We have had to put up with some absolute dire BBC punditry, have done so for years ... enjoy the moment.

Savage is dreadful

I don't disagree, most of the time he is. Pretty good on the football phone in on the radio. Yet he is allowed to celebrate like most Welsh fans / supporters etc. Having had to listen to some biased media over the tourney regarding Wales, Savage should be allowed to enjoy his little moment and others should respect that too.

They didn't play particularly well against us in the last 16 and only progressed because of an own goal.

Ye but we didn't need to win pretty. Can't do that every game. At the end of the day we won, took our chances. We are were we are because we have deserved it. End of.

a team alreday with decent rep and every single one of my players wants to leave... how do i keep them? unless i play in big 5 leagues they all want to go to bigger rep team.. Do I sell and if not how do I answer the questions they come to me asking they want to leave?

What you have to do is think about longevity. If your not in the top leagues then you will inevitably have to sell players to bigger clubs. When players want to leave I always answer that I will let them go if the right fee comes in, then set their value as quite unrealistic and respond to offers in an unrealistic way. Now, sometimes this doesn't work and I get an offer I can't refuse and therefore the deal is accepted on my behalf or I accept them. The money I get, can always be reinvested. Into the facilities and playing squad.

Now there was one tip I was told some time ago when coming to an adventure like this. Sell / lose the player ... you will always find another one who is better. So never be afraid, see it as a challenge.

The only way to increase the rep is how you get on in Europe. The further you progress and on a regular basis the easier things will become. I have done this with Welsh Premier League sides in the past, it can take forever and sometimes your entire season revolves round how you do in Europe, the league becomes irrelevant. But what you do find is things do improve and players tend to stay.

I have a long save going with Wrexham and I am already dreading this...

However, I am committed to getting them into the Prem and I've already badgered a few decent signings.

I dunno how Wrexham is different? They are in the English Domestic System and therefore will find it easier with league rep, compare them to if they were in the Welsh Domestic System. Definitely not the same.

Backroom Staff - Hire a Director of Football and let him deal with that.

Tactics - Don't over complicate them with needless individual player instructions etc as i find that never works, do add your own team instructions depending on how you want to play, keep to a formation and only change the mentality from match to match depending on your opponent, so easy game at home i attack, tough game away i counter though simply using 'standard' can work just as well home and away. Overall i find the less changes the better.

Match Preparation - Leave training to the staff thats what you pay them for and you won't get any moaning players either. Make your tactic at the start of pre season and then i personally let my assistant control the friendlies but using the tactic you have made.

Advice Before Matches - I now never change anything my coaches suggest, not even individual opposition player instructions as i find that completely changes the way you want your own team to play. I also never listen to any of the fortnightly assistant reports when it comes to changing formations or player roles. Just stick to how you want to play.

I used to fiddle about with everything trying to get the perfect tactic only to find that it would fail from the start and rarely if ever improve. Now i just keep things as simply as possible, i've a game going with Arsenal for 5 seasons now (there's a couple of posts in the 'Casual Gamers' thread) and the only change to the tactic i made from the start is that i occasionally change my left sided central midfielder from a CM-DEF to BWM and that happens maybe once a season! You really don't need to change from game to game and as for the training side of things just leave that down to the coaches as that is what they're there for.
