Young man Hamilton. What a young superstar here is. He has come in and taken his chance after the injury to Thurtell. We went to extra time and this lad has scored a brace to take us to the Semi Finals. We looked great value against an ageing and tired Germany side. Their legs could hold them no longer and we took advantage. In the end we the better side and progress. Here we go boys.

Wilson and the boys are ready. Seriously excited for this little adventure on the big stage.
What a blow on the eve of our first game. One of our main strikers won't be available for the majority of the group stages. Gutting.
Opening game and we survived. Just about. Poland didn't allow us to rest and we just took our chances. Piddick our filling in center back came in and pounced at a loose ball at the back of a tame cross to seal victory. It was then a backs against the wall job in which we saw out an aggressive Polish side. Good to get an early 3 points on the board.
We managed to survive a South American onslaught of all proportions. Despite scoring we were never looked comfortable. Uruguay were constantly knocking at our gate and Duffy and the back four had a lot of rubbish to pick up. We were wasteful in midfield and upfront. We should have done better, we got the win. Scrappy enough.
So winning our first two games has ensured progression. Happy days.
Unreal. Absolutely speechless. Beating a side that won the World Cup some 8 years ago. Unreal. Top of the group. C'mon the Socceroos.
Overcame another test. We have progressed past the tricky second round and looking good value, against all the odds. Young Hamilton is really stepping up in place of Thurtell. Could be a runner at this stage for young star of the World Cup.

So before the World Cup updates. One piece of news. PSG has selected us as their feeder club. Good news for us as the money strolls in.

Our tight back secured man of the match. The wing back was simply outstanding, picking up the trash at the back but also bombing down that right wing and causing havoc for the left hand side of the Czech Republic. Thurtell and Murphy scoring to ensure victory.
100-1 and not a favourite to win a game. Tell you now. Get your money on us. We are going to win a game, that is for sure and we are going to upset the apple cart.
Not found our scoring shoes as such. We were very good but we need to put our chances a way. Lot of rotation going on at the moment. Hamilton looking good value up top.
Liked to have scored more goals leading into our first World Cup game. Wilson and Murphy holding the side and I am hopefully we will have a successful campaign during this tournament.

Most goals at the World Cup. Hoping to ensure we continue this reputation of scoring goals. Updates for the World Cup are coming soon.

Bennett and Hamilton are the next generation of Australian players. These guys once Wilson and Murphy have gone will be the main stay of the nation.
As it stands I have all the players I need, couple of fringe players have missed out on injury. But we have got plenty about us to make us competitive.

Yep I agree. That's is where the true test will lie. Holland are pretty good in this save and as luck would have it we don't feature against them until the last group game, which could easily work to our advantage.

So the last real stand alone friendly before the big preparation for the World Cup. I was really excited by this fixture as some of the young guns now plying their trade within Australia are beginning to develop due to their first team action for their clubs. It has meant that I now have a bigger resource pool of talent. Our five goal dismantling of Croatia was a mixture of youth and experience. This is going to be vital when we head for the World Cup. I need to ensure that our main players are looked after so we can have them firing on all cylinders come World Cup.

As per usual. Win the league, win the Champions League ... don't bother with the KFA Cup. Never. In it to win all three.

Cheers Shedender. Life is pretty easy at Pohang. Built a club that now is the strongest in Asia and regularly produces talent to be sold or to be used in the first team squad. Australia is where the adventure lies at the moment. Lots to do and have one of the best generation of Australian players ever.
Thanks KEZ_7. Been a fantastic journey. One that I am looking to continue for a season or two yet. All depends on the jobs that pop up. Have my heart set on a couple of clubs. If they emerge after this season I will look to move.
So we are once again league favourites. No quibbles about that. Got to deliver as per usual.

Top of the Asian clubs. A mighty rise for the club. Very happy to see the club progressing upwards but also many of the clubs I once manage still in the top clubs in Asia.

Pohang and Australia of course are continuing to make some serious head waves on the continent and international scenes. I am fortunate to be able to manage one of the most dominant sides seen in Asian football both at club level and of course internationally. As we are almost a year out from one of the biggest years of this save it is crucial that the build is is done correctly.
End of season was really what hurt us. However we are very dominant at the start of the season and really up to the end of the season. The squad finds it tough as do I. Games come within such a close space of the last it is hard to rest key players. But because of this I am able to develop and give time to the youngsters who gain valuable first team experience.
14 point winning margin this year. Came close at one stage of going the entire season undefeated. However back end of the season is the usual routine were we are competing on many fronts and the games come thick and fast and we have to rest. Who knows, there may come a time when I may well go undefeated.
Business as usual in the KFA Cup. Nothing more but nothing less than expected from myself. Regardless of what the board wanted.
Retention of the precious was going to be vital to cementing the legacy in Pohang. Doing just that. Although we suffered a fright in the final legs. Scrapping with Marinos till the better end. We had to rely on winning the advantage in the first leg of the final to win. My blue eyed boy Keen getting us off to the start we required. Can't fault the commitment to be honest.
Riding the crest of the wave and we couldn't hold onto that wave forever. FC Bayern came and we ran them close. But superior fitness told in extra time. We were leading them but their 100 odd capped German international scored a brace and the rest is history. We ended third. I can't complain really. We have been seriously lucky to win the competition in the last two years, we weren't going to continue to win.
The Kiwi Morgan was the biggest outlay. The former Chelsea starlet really as a fine pedigree. Sadly I could be looking to ship him on after he failed to really find the net for us this season. However Thurtell had the same first season issue. I hope Morgan will settle in quickly next season or he will be an expensive flop.
This is the weirdest thing I have ever witness in an FM game. The chairman withdrew financial backing. But had a turn of heart and him and the board pumped some money in to keep us going. I am truly grateful. I do feel that investment came for the failed stadium bid, but what it has done is rescue us for a bit whilst I rid the club of ageing players on high wages.
Key Player Profiles:
Only one man can fit this criteria. What a man. What a man. What a might young man. Thurtell is a specimen. Look at his goals ratio. He scores for fun and when he wants. One of my favourite all time players along with Duffy and Keen.

Next Season
Next season is massive. World Cup year and Pohang are likely to see many of its players in June play in that World Cup with South Korea and Australia. It could well have a serious impact on the league. In terms of my future. My contract runs up funnily enough at the end of next season. It all depends from there on out whether I stay or go. I have turned Pohang into some machine, but the sad reality is I cannot expand the stadium and therefore a legacy here cannot be fully achieved.

Cheers mons.
Ye was 8th, actually hit 5th in the World. I am not quite sure what goes on with the rankings. I presume playing Asian opponents with considerably less ranking points means we don't get many ourselves for the victories hence why we drop. I can't see Columbia making us drop that much. At the time of writing we are now 15th haha.

Disappointed at the loss. However we couldn't just carry on going winning every game. This is in particularly important in terms of the World Cup. I have learnt a few things about the side that needs just adjusting in terms of players and how we play against South American opposition. Really we weren't at the races today and thoroughly outplayed.

Ukraine felt the full wrath of a very confident Australian side. Bit of rotation at half time that didn't really affect the momentum. Murphy and Hamilton found another gear and Ukraine just capitulated under the pressure. Good signs for the future. Gathering momentum now in time for the World Cup is vital.

The latest youth intake and quite a disappointing one. Just the one stand-out player.
This guy looks like a natural replacement for Keen. If that is the case that will be brilliant as I attempt to look to have a pure South Korean side in the future, although this is unlikely ever to happen as high quality foreign players are still needed to ensure competitiveness on the continent.

Oman gave us a good game however our quality is something that is difficult to match. Thurtell was outstanding as was most of the team. Lookout for débutante Phil Bennett in the future. This guy has some potential and scored after coming on to replace an injury prone Jai Keen.
Thurtell was once again the man in form, scoring and providing for the rest. Really China gave a good go but found it tough to get past us. This concludes our successful qualifying campaign and we look forward to next years World Cup.
Dominant performance from us and we ended the campaign undefeated. Unbelievable scenes. We were fantastic value. Scoring some 35 goals and only conceding 8. South Korea and Iraq will now play a play off against each other to determine who will be victorious and join us at the World Cup.
Oh dear. The might have fallen and now just before an important two fixtures against Iraq in less than a month side, the nation seems in disarray.

Got this message through. Quite an honour. Thought I would never get the opportunity to mange them.
All over them and only come away with a 2-1 victory. The Pohang boys being the major difference in the squad. Really honoured to have been able to manage the side.

A fairly even game, the quality of our attacking force was the major difference. The attacking trio of Murphy, Thurtell and Wilson are the real difference between us and most. What is scary is that there is a youngster in the mould of Murphy awaiting in the wings. He could potentially be a dangerous player. Future is bright for the team.
China are almost there with us. South Korea likely to join them.
Comfortable win in the end. Murphy scoring for fun.

Back to the World Cup qualifiers and if we win both games and results go our way we could qualify for the World Cup. A very dominant win and my main man at Pohang bagging a brace. Yes I would have liked more but we managed to secure that win that takes us all that bit closer to the World Cup.
Almighty Murphy. Oh wow. What a player. What a man. What a win. Somehow have a real good knack of beating South Korea at international level. These guys are meant to be our nearest rivals along with Saudi Arabia and Iran. But I am not complaining. We were thoroughly good value for our victory.
And there it is. We are going to the World Cup next year. Bring it on.
How the groups look. Japan have also joined us and they are looking like running away with the other group. I can see South Korea losing out to Saudi Arabia in our group. I do see Iran and Iraq qualifying in the other with Uzbekistan will push Iraq all the way.

Same expectations as last year. We have a good chance of repeating the same feet as last season in terms of the big three. If we win the Champions League then the Club World Cup is a complete mystery, anything can happen on the day.

Cheers man, much appreciate the comment. I've tended to use two tactics at every club and assess which one will be the best to use. Training and bringing players in to fit those systems.
Cheers, yes lady luck was with us against PSG. I am sure if I was to replay we would lose the game.
So once again the team are favourites to win the league. Suwon Samsung and Seoul are seen as the main threats. However there are other sides in this league that are more than capable of disrupting us.

South Korea and Australia of course are really progressing well. I am fortunate to be able to manage one of the most dominant sides seen in Asian football. Hopefully this can continue and the success for both can continue.
Tail of two halves. We started like a house on fire. Untouchables. However international fixtures and injuries meant we struggled towards the back end as the squad was seemingly thin. When we were good we were good. We bossed most sides off the park. Hopefully next season we can dominate the league far better than we have done today.
In the end claimed the league by 8 points. I cannot complain as Pohang now have a march on the South Korean football league. Also the club can use the academy knowing that they will have enough support there to allow the big guns to be rested when needed.
Fielded a rotational side for most of the games and it paid dividends as youngsters were able to get a run and sample some first team football. Nice to win the cup. Adds to the growing honours list here at Pohang.
Defended the AFC Champions League and gave a very dominant performance all the way through. Injuries threatened to de-rail the Champions League campaign. But we had enough about ourselves to win the game. The BlueWings ran us far to close in the final, but we saw them off to earn a priceless victory.
Yes you read right. Beat PSG and managed to defend the impossible. Fantastic. Against the grain but happy to secure another trophy.
Nothing to write home about here. Sold off some fringe players for some much needed cash.
Finances do not look healthy as it stands. A new stadium being built along with facility upgrades has meant the finances don't look great. Chairman refusing to pump money in, has seemingly made the finances worse? However he never was, or at least I never noticed.
