I think this is a common issue when using custom starting dates in FM. The age conversion for newgens and wonderkids can definitely cause problems, especially for long-term saves. Unfortunately, the pre-game editor is quite limited for mass edits, so you may need an external editor or a database editing tool that can handle FMF files. 

Hopefully someone with experience editing new people.fmf can share a proper method or, hot games, tool for batch changes. Good luck with the save!
