UEFA is considering expanding the Champions League to 64 teams and scrapping the Europa League, president Michel Platini has confirmed.

The changes would allow seven English club teams and five Scottish sides to enter at a preliminary qualifying stage and could come into effect in time for the 2015 competition.

"There is a debate to determine what form the European competitions will have between 2015 and 2018," Platini told French newspaper Ouest France.

"We are discussing it, we will make a decision in 2014. There is nothing decided yet."

The possibility of a breakaway European league, as mooted by Barcelona president Sandro Rosell, was dismissed by Platini who questioned the viability of such a competition.

"It's a question that is regularly brought up," he said. "I can't see how it could work outside the Uefa framework. Who will referee them? In what stadiums will they play?"

Rosell, who is chairman of European Club Association had previously said: "If UEFA and the ECA reach an agreement, we would like to increase the Champions League under the umbrella of UEFA. If not, the ECA is entitled to organise their own champions competition."

Platini also hinted at the introduction of video technology to aid officials' decisions, but underlined that it is by no means a foregone conclusion as of yet.

He added: "There is a complicated thing for which we might, and I say might, need video, it's offside. Because it is very difficult for the referees to rule on that."

Would be better imo.

You said it yourself no one on here supports Stoke and so there is no need to post about the shit their players do so it IS because he plays for Liverpool. Don't say it's not because you gave the reason yourself.

That's because whilst Stoke have a rough playing style, they don't have anyone who constantly cheats/fouls.

And who's fault is that? It's not like people are looking for the tiniest instances of fouls/diving, they are clear occurances that would get highlighted with any other player, it just so happens that Suarez does it a lot more than other players so more of them come up.

This has got nothing to do with just Suarez, gifs are posted here and all over the internet from nearly every game. Gifs of Young/Welbeck diving for example went viral.

You can't expect people to just stop talking about how much of a dirty cheat he is when he's still doing it, I'm not just going to ignore him being a nob because your lot are fed up of hearing about it. I keep hearing that you're all bored of hearing about it, and you are blaming other fans for that rather than blaming your own player. No one would be bringing it up every week if he wasn't constantly being a moaning, cheating, dirty cunt. It's his fault all of those gifs are made and all this talk is constantly going on, and it's not just a United thing because I have mates who support Bolton, City, Arsenal, Wigan and even mates who don't really support anyone and they still bring it up all the time and hate him just as much as United fans. And yes, playing for Liverpool does have an effect on it, but that's because he's at a big club at the biggest league in the world where everything he does can be caught on camera, not because there's some witch hunt against everything Liverpool (which I know you haven't said, but I'm fed up of hearing that excuse as to why Suarez is getting "picked on." )

If you honestly believe it's got nothing to do with him bringing it upon himself most weeks then you're deluded.

He has a reputation for a reason, anyone outside of Liverpool FC can see it, and it's not just United fans its fans of all clubs. I genuinely don't know anyone who likes him who isn't a Liverpool fan (apart from Fanny, but he likes him because Suarez is a cunt) and this whole "OH ITS BECAUSE EVERYONE HATES LIVERPOOL," is laughable. Yes I dislike Liverpool, but it doesn't mean I have an irrational hatred for every single one of your players.

If it's getting boring listening to people harp on about how Suarez is a cunt, it's probably because he is and there's only one person to blame for that.
