I want to loan transfer listed Borja Valero.

Fiorentina want 100% of his wages PLUS 240k per month

I don't understand, am I incredibly stupid? Not only do they want me to pay his full wages, thats fine, he will play for me, but they then want me to pay 7 times his wages ONTOP of that, just to have him on loan?

How in gods name does that work out? Not only that, but the 'expected monthly fee' is 400k. 400k for one player.

Surely there is something being missed here...by me, or someone else, because not a club in the world would pay 1/2/3/4 hundred thousand a month to loan a player

Help me out? Am I just being really thick, or do they want my entire wage budget for one player?

Bernard Mensah just came to me and told me I have a history of breaking promises to him, despite the fact he has played almost constantly (with the exception of a Carling Cup match where the kiddies played) since he asked, and a game or two because of injury

This is so frustrating it's unbeleiveable, now he has requested a transfer and will stink up the dressing room with his nonsense if I dont move him on, and I dont want to.

His wages are 71k, they have asked for 40% - fine - he's a quality player so I wouldn't mind paying 100%

On top of that they want 87k monthly fee - in total the monthly contribution would be 210k - am I getting something wrong here, or are they actually asking me to give them that money each month, 210k - they equivalent of 4 players wages at my club?

I really do not get this, surely this does not happen in real life? Why the hell are they asking me to pay 3 times his wages to have him on loan, which benefits them?

I am fairly certain this does not happen in real life. It isn't just Odegaard, I always find this is the case when I try to get a player on loan from a bigger club

I.e. if I set someone with the PPM 'cuts inside' to play as a winger (to which the cut inside instruction is unavailible) what happens? Does the player fulfill the role BUT uses their PPM? Does the PPM get cancelled out by the role?

Are there generic roles and player duties that can be tweaked through a combination of instructions and PPM's to fit the more specific roles?

I.E.

Setting a player to say.....CM-Support (or automatic) and then giving them the required instructions so that they carry out the role in the manner of an advanced playmaker playing in the CM strata?

I ask as some roles, i.e. Ramdeuter, seem to inhibit the players defensive duties, which for someone like Alexis Sanchez, woudn't be desireable

I've stuck with Lamela on the flank (instead of in the number 10 role) specifically because he has the perfect attributes for it

Runs with ball often

It's interesting about teamwork though, of all the years I've been playing FM, I've never known it had that effect. His teamwork is only 10 - this is going to make it more difficult for him to fit within my tactical system?

I've recently started a scum Tottenham save, and I've been experimenting with Lamela & Chadli / Eriksen & Dembele on the flanks in the wide-midfield position

I've chosen them as 'wide midfielders' for a few reasons, I want increased positional discipline when defending (as opposed to having 3 players in the AM strata) and because this is the only position out of Winger, Defensive Winger and Wide Playmaker, in which you can choose Cut in, and Sit Narrow as instructions. The aim is for them to help create overloads in the middle of the park, while the fullbacks provide width outside of them

The problem is....they don't do this. Even though Lamela has Cuts inside, and I've given him the sit narrow instruction, he doesn't really come infield too much. I mean sure if he receives the ball instead of trying to beat the man down the line he will come infield, but thats it

Is there a way to make the players gravitate closer to the centre when in possesion?

I've tried assigning them to mark a CM which worked fairly well when out of possesion, but aside from that I'm stuck

I don't think I've ever been so disgusted while playing this game.

I had 3 seasons at Ajax, failed to make great waves in the CL, but won the League & Domestic cups x 3, had a crazy unbeaten streak of something like 23 games in the final season, had Mitrovic, Romero, Obiang, Telles, Mallo, Corchia, Doria, Balanta, Honda all in my team

Arsenal come in for me midway through the summer window. I go.

Bernard, Deulofeo, Jese, Muriel, Papodopolis,Kondogbia, Luke Shaw, in addition to all of the above that I brought over from Ajax

I understand that this can disturb the balance of the team and the cohesion can take a little while to take affect, however...the team has now been together for a while and their knowledge of the formations is about 75%

It is impossible to score or win. Matches go one of two ways

1. I end up with masses of possession and about 30 shots. No goals. None of these chances are clear cut, despite having Wilshere, Ramsey, Ozil, Bernard/Deulofeo etc in the team, and forwards with 15+ off the ball, pace and finishing

2. Absolutely no chances. Ozil (who I have set as playmaker) hasn't played a single through ball in his entire life, neither does Wilshere or ramsey or anybody else. I realised this may be due to having a lone forward, but I've experimented with this (having a DLF and an AF) and it doesn't work, Ozil will just get the ball, stop, do nothing and then get tackled. even when he apparently has a ball on that even Stevie wonder could see

All this of course happens with the opposition scoring freely. In my last match vs Galatasary I lost 5-1, with some dude casually walzing through my defence and scoring a brace, same goal both times...another REGEN with all grey stats bar one scored against me...wtf is happening

I've played 20 games and won 7 and drawn 4. Lost my last 6 in a row.

I am now playing with a 4-2-3-1 (I previously used a 4-5-1 in my first season at Ajax before I discovered that a 4-3-2-1/4-2-3-1 is workable with the right players, it's geared around Ozil as an AP playing on the right wing, an AM in the middle (wilshere) and a winger/if on the left which is usually Bernard/Chamberlain, Deulofeo, Eduardo Salvio

In the middle is Kondogbia or Obiang as CM/D and a BBM which is Ramsey or Lucas Romero

Upfront, Mitrovic, Jese, or Muriel...have varied between DLF, False 9, AF and poacher

....nothing works. Any help? I've tried varying 'higher tempo' - but I read that this could impact decision making, and lead to rushed passes so I've removed it

Even my corners don't work, Ozil & Bernard are both 15 for corners, I aim at the 6 yard box, I have Erazo, Doria, Kondogbia, Mitrovic who are all 6+ and have 15+ for heading and jumping

What happens every single time is that the corners either go off for a throw in, or are hopeless and cleared (this same tactic worked well with Ajax)...

Sold him before the start of the season to Chelsea for 20m. He ended up with around 20 goals I think. By the time they had played me in their second fixture he had 16, didn't bother to check after that.

I got about 4 players in with the money I got from him, sell him for as much as you can in Jan.

I asked myself this question at the start of my game with Everton as City had come in for him with 25m


Kept him and he was one of my best players, an INVALUABLE asset aerially in both boxes. I think he got something like 13 goals all comps (9 or so in the league) all in the air. Always had high ratings too. Avg. was 7.3 I think.

Looking to get more assists from him in open play, I've been using him mainly as a BWM, or DMF so he never gets forward.

I'm on the verge of clicking 'accept' on his transfer from Udinese for 18m to my Everton side
Problem is I already have Ryben Yttegard Jensen, who has stats that are very similar, a little better in the mental aspect, but a little worse in the defending aspect, but apart from that virtually indentical

Jensen is 24 or 5, Poli is 23

Is it worth blowing money on Poli when I have a few similar players? I am in need of a back-up RB / a more defensive midfielder to deputise for Feilani (Im thinking Casemiro if I can get him reasonably cheap)
