Throughout his playing career Hamann gained a reputation for being a highly consistent and reliable player. He is highly respected by supporters of Liverpool due in large part to his involvement in the 2005 Champions League Final.

Today Liverpool FC have announced Dietmar Hamann as Brendan Rodgers new successor after the Northern Irishmans resignation earlier this month.

Hamann has expressed his delight at becoming Liverpool FC's new coach after spending the past two years in Germany completing his Uefa coaching license.
