My players don't follow my instruction. I set the team to short passes and went and did the same for every single player, yet they tend to pass long most of the time and losing the ball. This in addition to silly mistakes from all the players. Did anybody else face this?


Yeah this is my point.
But judging from other posts, people generally seem to be having relative success with the game.

I've tried several teams, all with differing quality levels, in different countries and still the players perform silly errors, ignore instructions etc.
Also loads of own goals, loads of sending offs, loads of injuries.

But hey, this is what the whole point of releasing a BETA is for, we'd be much more annoyed if the game was released and it was like this.
I remember FM12 I think, and that had shit loads of bugs and issues during the BETA, but it was fantastic after the first patch.

I'm finding it tough, but not tough in a way that I think my tactics aren't working.

This will be my 10th FM, so I've seen it from the start (as i'm sure there are plenty of others that have too) and obviously the BETA versions are far from the finished articles.

I always find that the main problem is with the match engine, as it's the one that performs the hardest calculations.
This year is no different, and as someone mentions in a post above, it has an 'unnatural' feel to it, and thats the best way to describe it I suppose.

BUT hopefully (fingers crossed) come 7/11/14, the match engine will be finally up to spec.

Does anyone else have a problem with their players having over excessively heavy touches?
The kind of touch that you used to take the piss out of your mate for....'trampoline touch/next touch is a tackle/touch of a rapist'
(delete as necessary)

Not talking about lower league players here, I'm talking Premier League level.

I totally appreciate the support for the ME this year, but it's throwing up totally unbelievably unrealistic situations.
I play in 2D and always have, but don't be fooled by the claims that the 2D ME fixes the majority of these, it's simply not true.

Things such as, I'm finding a lot of 'miss hit' crosses going straight over the goalkeeper and in, without any supposed 'attempt' to save it.
Now we all love football, that's why we play this great game. BUT how many times would we see that in the Premier League or in Europe for instance? maybe once/twice a season at a push? possibly less than 15 times in a decade?
But yet the ME throws this in every few games.

Also, when will it be possible to win a game away in Europe comfortably two or three nil, and then play the second leg with the losing team suddenly turning into the new Barça and going 4-0 up in 30 mins? it's just a farce.

I love FM, and have played every game to breaking point since '05, but the latest instalment really confuses me as to what's happened with the ME.
I hope SI come out and address this issue.

Just as been mentioned by a few people on here, i seem to be missing the custom graphics.

I was using the default skin, and all the logos installed were fine.
Then for some reason when I installed the skin, some of the logos have disappeared? and YES I have unticked the cache etc.
I reset the skin cache and the default FM logos that come with the game even disappeared, so I downloaded a new pack, installed it all correctly, and NOTHING. No logos, nada.

I can see it has been asked a few times already, but there hasn't been a definite answer, so if someone knows the reasoning for this then please help.

SO many issues in the new game needing to be fixed, ALL of them to do with the match engine.
Yet again the defending in the game (no matter how good your 'world class' defenders are) is painstakingly awful, goalkeepers handling is totally unrealistic, and in playing 10 games with Shakhtar, the crossbar has been hit 3 times in each match without fail.
Not to mention the amount of goals scored from long shots, inaccurate passing, and poor tackling.

I really hope SI fix these issues, otherwise I just can't see the point in even 'revamping' the match engine, if it's going to be worse than FM12.
After all, it's the match engine that determines your entire career enjoyment essentially.
