Tonbridge Angels chairman, Steven Churcher has appointed a young, previously unknown manager, Daniel Hardie. A local lad aged just 26 means that many of his players are older than he is! Hardie has no previous managerial experience but we have found out that he has played in the youth ranks of Charlton and non league teams Footscray Wanderers and Welling Utd before injury forced him out of the game and into the managerial and coaching side of the game. Although Hardie has a distinct lack managerial experience, he does have a fair amount of FA coaching badges and qualifications under his belt.
Hardie attended his first press conference as Tonbridge Angels manager just this morning and answered all of the questions in a very upbeat and passionate manner. The young manager stated his desire to play attacking, attractive football which is sure to please the Angels fans and chairman alike, Hardie also stated that he believes that the Angels are best in the attacking department and that striker Frannie Collin is one of the most talented players at the club. He also said that he has a wealth of targets in mind for the transfer window but due to the clubs small finances, he will be looking for talented free agents. This new manager certainly promises at the very least an exciting season ahead for the club and we will be sure to keep tabs on the Tonbridge Angels progress through the season.
