The FM14 db has an unattached non-player Matteo Gozzoli (id: 43124160), who has reasonably high ability and reputation, and no image in the Megapack. Could this be the same Matteo Gozzoli? Apparently he is the former press officer of AC Cesena.

Ok, you are using Photoshop then. One can use the transparency action to change the Photosop background colour setting. Its also possible to add a layer behind the player pic and then fill it with a solid colour to achieve similar effect.

Layers are an essential part of working with the program, so if you want to become a more effective cutter, you should look them up. There are good tutorial videos on Youtube about layers, adjustment layers and layer masks. With adjustment layers you can change image contrast, saturation etc. without changing the actual picture, and the adjustments can be re-adjusted or removed at any point. With layer masks you can focus adjustment layers to only those points on the image you want, and more importantly the cutting itself can be done by using a mask (this way you can always easily bring back anything that was cut away).

Scottpratt, I don't think the quality of your cuts is that bad. Its just that there is quite a bit of snow mainly among the players' hairs. That can be relatively easily rectified by colorizing the edges that have the forementioned snow. I don't know what you mean by not getting the facepack transparency working, but if you are using photoshop, or any other good graphics editor, you should be aware of layers.

looks good but cant seem to find player photos on Atletico website

They are here. Click the players to get to the frontal pictures and then right click, hold and drag the image to your browser's address bar to see just the picture (works at least in Firefox). Then change the "destacado_460x460" in the image url to "destacado_920x920". I couldn't find a direct link to the larger images.

In most cases I didn't touch the brightness at all. Most of them had their colors way off and I simply can't stand cuts that are overly yellow, red or whatever it is. And that has nothing to do with your cuts. I just know that you don't usually do anything about the colors in your cuts and that's why I've done some color fixes for your cuts. That's something mons would've probably done before adding them to the MP anyway and I know that my monitor is calibrated by hardware device so I may as well help him with that.

edit: And I'm not trying to be disrespectful to anyone. I'm just looking to get the best possible cuts for the MP even from the very bad source images.

I think the issue here is that there isn't that much difference between some of your adjustments and the originals, and therefore judging whether they have been an improvement really becomes a matter of taste. If there are pics that would benefit from an overhaul, and without a doubt there are some, then perhaps addressing the shortcomings more thoroughly would be the best option.

Tried everything but no luck...

Curious that it looks like there are few if any good pictures of him even though he seems to have worked with the national team for years. All images I have ben able to find have been either very small, greyscale, or from direction where he is not facing the camera.
