If this is the case, I'm all for it, but I thought he was referring to this line:

Existing Images: Search results for: <UID>

I was, and obviously if there are no previous images it will not help much with improving cuts. I assumed Jubez meant it would be easier to manage the whole thing if there are search links in (future) old posts (and by then naturally an existing image for the person).

I disagree, but let mons decide. Your cut is just missing quite a bit of hair details overall.

You also did not darken the outer "edges" of his head (hair), so the image looks a bit funny with a dark background.

Be more carful with the hair details.

In my opinion you have used too much feather and the end result looks a tad too fuzzy at some points.

Pretty much, although the blank search result isn't really necessary tbh...

It helps if the cut needs improving though. I'd suggest adding a link for the source when doing your first cuts for the site.

I guess it won't hurt if the search result is included. I will also link to the source image, though I should have decent Photoshop skills.

I'm not interested in making any requests, but I might contribute by cutting pictures of some missing players I have spotted. Should I do so, the correct way to post here is by mentioning the player's name, id, the blank search result and by attaching the finished image itself. Have I got it right?

If such a project should start, I might be able to help if there are some poor quality lower league logos (by creating new good quality versions from scratch).

Mons, I mentioned in an earlier comment that I was making a Spanish media db. I started from scratch and initially was doing it just for my self, but I'm actually quite happy with it, so you can include it in this fix file if you want to. It has 231 media sources (no club websites or journalists) from all over the country, and has a pretty good coverage of all areas and clubs so appearance of fake media should be at minimum.

I also made a Portuguese media file, but its not nearly as extensive as the Spanish one. It has 67 different media sources (again no club websites).

Rather than being a bug, I suspect that club-related media is used relatively rarely by the game.

Perhaps, but in that case club (and fanzine) media involvement is very rare indeed. So rare, in fact, that I do not remember ever seeig it. Obviously I may have just missed it. In my latest save I have played over 20 seasons with a club that has club and fanzine media in the custom db..

Barça TV that is set to report just on FC Barcelona (and has proper city and local region etc. data) does not release any news... is it a bug in the game?

My idea was to take a website like navarrasport.com, set it's scope to club and then add Navarran clubs to the list. Therefore there really is no one city to assign the media source to. If the media scope is set to "regional", it will also report on things not directly pertaining to Navarran clubs.

I will have to do some more testing.

I may be able to contribute some, I have been recently building a db of Spanish media with the idea that most clubs would be covered by real media outlets. I have a question though: If media scope is set to "club", it seems that that media source will not do any reports (clubs have been assigned to "areas covered" ). Have you noticed it? Is there a remedy for it?

I fired up the official editor and had a look into some of the media files. There seems to be quite a lot of failed database changes in the file details. Surely this can't be right?

I'd already fixed both media sources yesterday. Both erroneously had a continental scope and have been given a national and regional scope respectively.

Sounds good. I guess it should be a fairly simple fix to the problem.

On top of this page it says the last update is from March 12th, but I think the downloadable file is older (Verdens Gang & TV2 Sporten have continental scopes, 2012 file modified dates). There are also 2 different Verdens Gangs (different IDs) - one in Norwegian Media.dbc (ex VestNytt) and another in Baltic, Scandinavian and Swedish Media.dbc. Do they have different functions or is it a duplicate error?

The files which appear to have the most issues are the American, Argentinian and Brazilian ones as some entries in these files are either not pointing to an entry (e.g. given a regional scope but not assigned a region) or incorrectly given a worldwide status when it is not applicable.

Would it help if the areas/cities/clubs that do not have Media Sources covering them had this coverage? It looks like for example Portuguese lower league teams have few if any Media Sources. Naturally identifying these medias would add to the tremendous amount of work it must have taken to compile the fixes file. Short of someone in the know supplying a list of newspapers/websites/tv channels, its not very difficult to find at least some real Media Sources by simply searching the net (for lists of medias working within countries).

Definitely not the intention of these files but it's not surprising, no Let me guess, it's altomfotball.no, right?

Yesterday I started to check if there's anything which can be done with these errors and some may be changeable.

TV2 Sporten is reporting on my club, and when I added another manager at another Portuguese Second Division side, it was Verdens Gang who reported on them. There are several media files grouped by region/country. Would not choosing one or more of them (like the ones that contain Norwegian media sources) when creating a new save diminish chances of such unlikely media presence? If I intend to remain managing just in Portugal for example.

Looks good, but is everything as should be with the free mirrors here. It basically looks like a link to Part X leads to Part Z etc. In addition there are several links to 95.32 MB metallic_logos_fm2013_v5_changes.rar within same hosts. Same web addresses as well.

I think I may be missing some images after all. Should José Bosingwa (741143) have a picture? 741143 is mentioned in the xml, but I do not have the image in the faces folder. The faces folder contains a png without a name however (.png), but its not Bosingwa.

How many png files should there be in the faces folder? I have 115 729. Judging from the xml file's line numbers, there probably should be 123 991.

First I'd like to thank everyone involved for making this facepack, as it must have taken huge amount of work to find and process such a large number of images. I have a couple of questions though.

I'm currently downloading the pack by using download mirrors at the bottom of this page. Only after downloading many parts of the package did I notice that similarly numbered parts hosted at different mirrors have different sizes. Why is this? Its confusing.

I guess it should not be a problem though, since it looks like the parts are separate instead of being pieces of one big archive. Hopefully I'm not missing any of the faces, which I don't think I am if the only difference is that the parts at croco.com com are larger (and fewer) and the ones at the two other hosts are of same sizes.

Here it says one can download complete pack 5.4, but the pack seems to actually be 5.04. Is this correct?

The names cannot even be set in the editor. The correct entries are in the data base, but only the short name is displayed. How annoying is that! I guess I won't be beginning that Portuguese save after all.

Should Portuguese clubs have different long and short names when using this fix? For example Benfica seems to only be called Benfica within the game, even though City, Club and Stadium Names.lnc has both the long and short names.
