2020 European Championship Qualification

We did very well to finish 4th in our group, opening qualifying with 8 points from our first 4 matches. Victories over Estonia and Malta and some well earned draws against Portugal and Turkey. Unfortunately we couldn't continue this form through the final 6 matches, resolving to just doing the double over both Malta and Estonia.

No way to put in national team stuff under the seasons tab I guess so I'll have to document my Liechtenstein career here.

2018-2019 UEFA Nations League Division D Group 4

We began the Nations League with a tough 0-0 draw at home to the group favorites of North Macedonia before going on the road and destroying Armenia 6-1 after being ridiculed by their media. This was a strong start to our Nations League Campaign!

Unfortunately, our form from the opening round of fixtures did not carry over into October for our 2nd round of fixtures. We created tons of chances against Gibraltar at home and North Macedonia away but were unable to put any of them away, walking away from both games with just 1 point earned. Our loss to North Macedonia virtually guaranteed that we would not be able to win promotion into Division C and did significant damage to our hopes of qualifying for the European Championship in 2020.

Going into the final round of fixtures in November we were able to pick up a convincing 3-0 victory over Gibraltar on the rock before suffering a 0-2 defeat at home to Armenia after Yanik Frick was sent off by a direct red card in the 19th minute of the match. Overall, we exceeded expectations by finishing 2nd in our group with 8 points and it was a really good campaign by Liechtensteiner standards!

We've got a few little updates for events going on between the 2019 and 2020 seasons. The club has agreed to upgrade our training facilities and also approached me about turning professional, both of which will go live before or during the upcoming season. These should each be great help to us!

We began the 2019 season with a much stronger squad as after winning the Welsh Cup most the best players from the worse Welsh Clubs would just walk over to Aberystwyth upon getting an offer. We began our Europa League as the World Cup was in its final stages opening with a 1-1 away draw against Czech club Siroki Brijeg then advancing a week later with a 1-0 home win. Moving on to the second qualifying round we faced Bosnian club Jablonec and after many wasted chances fell 0-1 in the first leg at home followed by a similar 1-2 away defeat with our star player Alex Wood missing a penalty early that could have put us even on aggregate. With our stronger players we were the bookies' 2nd favorite to win the league, which would pretty easily be accomplished as rivals TNS went on a 5 match winless streak to close out the season. We performed poorly in both domestic cups but winning the league erased all of that negativity.

Goals for 2020 are to get deeper into the Europa League Qualifying Rounds and to retain our League title, if we can do both of these while performing in the Cups then we'll go for those too.

My first season in 2018 was an amazing success! After taking over what was the bookies favorite (1000-1) to be relegated that season we managed to finish 3rd in the league with just a couple of small transfers. We opened the season with a loss then went on a run of 5 straight draws in league play before we started picking up any wins. The club had an outstanding record against Wales' best club TNS at 3-1-1, including a 7-1 victory in league play as well as a 3-2 victory in the Welsh Cup Quarter Final. The season concluded with a streak of four straight wins, including a victory over the 2018 League Champions Connah's Quay in the Welsh Cup Final.
