Michael Owen said it too the fucking cunt that he is.

Owen on Sterling: "He's better than Özil, probably better than Welbeck"

Better than Özil, PROBABLY better than Welbeck?! Fucking hell. Sterling > Welbeck >>>>> Özil apparently

Amazes me that pundits that are allowed to speak on television are still questioning whether Ozil is a good player or not.

According to David Moyes, the jury is still out

No wonder he's unemployed

I do find the annual cycle of Arsenal fans as amusing as the famous Scouse boom-bust cycle.

Its gone something like this over recent times:

Start of the transfer window:
Bullish, ended the season strongly, looks like the teams finally getting there, and if only Wenger added one or two of the right players you'd surely win the league.
End of the transfer window:
Wenger's only signing has been a 13 year old prodigy from Djibouti, the teams been booed off the pitch in 3 games by now, including a pre-season friendly.
Christmas:
The fans are universally positive, the anger from the start of the season has been forgotten, they once again have the best players in the league.
End of the Season:
They fail to get over the line, despite playing well for most of the season a complete melt down where they drop 9 points in two games after being knocked out of the Champions League by a team whose acronym is 'FCB' means most of the fanbase want Wenger out, yet they rally to end the season in the Champions League places. They either win the FA Cup, or they don't, no one really cares anyway, and we start again.

The irritating thing for Arsenal fans is surely that if they had bought in the summer they'd be walking the league this season.

Worth giving a gander

Avg Points/game under Wenger
Aug 1.90
Sep 2.10
Oct 2.13
Nov 1.60
Dec 1.97
Jan 1.93

May 1.95

We'd usually have collapsed by now but luckily for us in November everyone else was just as shite as us. Wenger's stated openly that we are short and need reinforcements (weird for him, usually faffs on about "top, top quality" and "if we find the right player, we will do it". 6 points against Southampton away (ain't won there since their promotion) & Bournemouth would put us in good stead. I'm not really taking much notice of Leicester tbh, although I'd like them to finish in the top four.

And buying no outfield players was criminal, just praying we get the quality required in Jan to push us over the line. An Arshavin-esque signing would really boost the squad. As for the CL, I'm not really arsed to be honest. It's set up for us to beat/draw against Barca at home then get battered away. Sooner it's out the way the better.

With the managerial merry go round at the end of the season, we need to win the League this year. If we don't we won't have a sniff for a good few years.

And yeah, Arsenal's online presence is probably the absolute worst alongside Liverpool's imo. Funny at times though

We haven't ever had a mid-season collapse since 2007/08 when Eduardo broke his leg. Every season after that we've been stronger after Christmas than before it.

If England want any chance to win it then gambles have to be made. This would be my XI presuming these players are fit:

Hart
Clyne - Smalling - Stones - Shaw
Carrick/Dier
Henderson - Wilshere
Walcott - Kane - Sterling

But obviously Rooney will start every match and be a detriment throughout the tournament.

Maybe.

He's a good manger and this explosion whilst hilarious happened to Klopp too. He's not my first choice, but if City do get Pep and Ancelotti does go to Bayern I'd much rather have Mourinho than Van Gaal or Giggs.

Just have to sack him before his third season.

Telegram Sam on this Arsenal forum said he expects: "Calling it now; this summer Pep will go to City, Ancelotti to Bayern, Simeone to Chelsea and - most suprisingly - Mourinho will replace the outgoing van Gaal at United."

Wouldn't be overly surprised. Yet we'll replace Arsene with Steve Bould when Wenger retires, brilliant stuff.

I tend to agree but I'm not 100% sold on Mahrez he hardly set the league alight last season and I wonder if the same 'purple patch' argument would be made about him if he had an English name.

His level of technique is absurd, impossible for this to be a purple patch. He was starting to catch some great performances at the end of last season too when Leicester were battling to stay up

Mahrez is genuinely a great player.

Vardy is just on a purple patch, won't get near the same amount of goals next season.

I don't think I've seen a player as injury prone as Sturridge since Diaby

Fair to call Wilshere injury prone but at least the vast majority of his are impact injuries, unlike Sturridge's constant muscular issues

Preferred it when players flykicked fans instead of all this shit.

Proper cringy, doesn't fit the English culture at all. Well, maybe it does with Liverpool fans to be fair
