I think an easy way to see it is this. We were a couple million off being able to sign and afford Eden Hazard in the summer before he was sold to Chelsea.

As a result, we signed fucking Gervinho instead. We still probably can't really afford to pay the wages Hazard is currently on either (I'm guessing he's on around 200k p/w now).

It's not as if we were never big spenders. The 10m we spent on Thierry is probably like 20m+ in todays market. Contrary to popular belief Wenger will spend and did so before our move to the Emirates consistently. 16m on Reyes, 13m on Wiltord etc.

It's just that we had severe constraints on our spending from 2006-2013, something Mourinho has never had to worry about. All of our funds are self-generated too, unlike Mourinho when he made Chelsea title contenders/winners. We're now in a position where we can spend around 60-70m a year without any detriment to the club or the clubs future. We have around 200m in cash reserves and we'd have to spend something ridiculous like 300m in one season to break FFP.

I'd assume DDG is staying for a year, leaving on a free and you'd be getting a replacement. I can't think of a goalkeeper less suited to the Prem than Romero in all honesty.

Interesting that you've got no Wilshere or Walcott in that Arsenal team.

I think it's a testament to our quality in depth. I'd like to see Walcott start up front over Giroud but it's not happening. Wilshere's best games have come on the wing so I'd assume he'd start out there if at all. Having the likes of Bellerin, Chambers, Gabriel, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Wilshere, Welbeck & Rosicky all available as depth is pretty good for us. With Ox & Wilshere being the main two.

Can see Ramsey moving more centrally towards the tail end of the season as I think this is Cazorla's last season in England. I can't see us challenging continuously with someone as average as Giroud up front and I think we're going to place all our eggs in the Benzema basket. Arteta as back-up if Coquelin gets injured is also a massive worry.

If I was Mourinho I'd bin Oscar, put Hazard centrally and punt on Pedro. But it's still as solid as you'd expect.

If they get that front four then the attack is probably the best in the League imo. The Fernand's aren't exactly solid, Kompany hasn't been good for years and Mangala is a bit of a liability. Clichy isn't even worth mentioning.

Top 4 will probably end up as the same as last year in the same order or I can see us nicking second. But I still think Chelsea have the minerals to do it back-to-back.

Hyperbole much.

His volatile style of management has upset numerous star players in the past which is well noted. A couple of bad results and there could be a major backlash from the players, that's all I'm saying.

In terms of his ability he's probably the worst manager out of all the top 4 teams. But he's obviously still very good.

What by essentially forcing di Maria out by freezing him out the side as a result of poor performances not in his correct position & saying that Valdes doesn't have commitment because he refused to play for the U21's when he played for them multiple times last season?

Pretty easy to stand-up to a geezer with little to no European reputation & hasn't seen the sun in about 30 years compared to a Dutch lunatic whose been to Bayern & Barca. I reckon Januzaj could've probably decked Moyes in all honesty.

Difference is that with Fergie there was always a sense of mutual respect between him and the players. With LVG it doesn't really seem like the case with no real camaraderie in the team if a player is being treated like shite by him, as he has done with di Maria & Valdes. Almost like Magath minus the national service training & actually being a decent manager.

Two games too many. I don't understand why you wouldn't give your best attacking player a free reign to do whatever he wants, yet would play someone as limited as Fellaini behind the striker.

Man management =/= progression of players careers. Of course he might have nurtured them and made them better, but that doesn't mean he treats everyone the same. He has his favourites, pies of the rest and once his favourites wash-up he gets rid. If there was anyone with a bit of backbone in the United squad there'd be a revolt fairly quickly; though it seems as if that's an area United lack in for the first time from when I can remember. Add that to the fact he's a (justified, unlike Rodgers) arrogant twat it seems as if he could turn a lot of players head the wrong way fairly easily.

United's best players last season were De Gea, Fellaini & Young. Two of the three are absolutely wank footballers. Rooney was pissed about again like he has been most of his career, van Persie's legs were gone tbf, Falcao got a chance but struggled (not LVG's fault either), Mata was okay but not great and di Maria was forced to play up front at time which was borderline retarded and never really got a fair crack.

Should've just put di Maria in his best position which is part of a midfield three instead of making Fellaini the CAM with Rooney for some reason shifted into a deep role. He probably wasn't the best fit but he could've been a whole lot better than he was, and a massive part of that is down to LVG himself, who is absolutely piss poor at man management.

We do have financial constraints still meaning we can't spunk 100's of millions each window, but there's still no excuse for a back-up DM and a striker we need to challenge for the title properly. That's only £60-70m really

Really looking forward to seeing him play at City. I think he'll excel there and it would be hugely beneficial for the England team.

Tbh I'm looking forward to the new season, even though our rivals have signed some quality players I'm looking forward to see them kick ball. Could be one of the most exciting Prem seasons ever in regards to the title contenders.
