Well yeah some people are rueing Drinkwater missing the squad whereas Spain don't have Santi, Saul, Mata etc.

Drinkwater simply doesn't fit the system, he isn't a versatile player and looked average without a Kante next to him doing all the hard work and he wasn't just able to ping balls over the top for Vardy. Löw also said that Reus couldn't walk in a straight line, more than just a concern there.

He did nothing in the game where he got MOTM. He deserved to be considered for the squad, and I'd probably take him over ~~Carlton Pal~~ Jordan Henderson but never Wilshere. If Wilshere is fit you take him, no question.

The real mind boggling selections is why we're taking so many CAMs or players who can play there. If Dier gets injured we're fucked in midfield unless we have a Wilshere/Henderson pivot which would be less secure than having Wilsh & Dier deep.

United have always been held in high esteem thanks to Fergie (in my lifetime anyway) and there's no real reason to hate them apart from being just successful. The way Jose conducts himself is appalling and completely disrespectful.

Quite, but I find literal worthy of celebration in that.

'Woo we qualified for the Champions League and now we can pay off our debt in 5 not 7 years' has quite a hollow ring to it.

Well it's more the relief of our players not being plundered every summer being over. Nothing to celebrate really, not that there is nowadays apart from Wenger, Kroenke & co parading the balance sheet around with £220m cash in bank, the highest cash reserve of any football club in the World.

I should have phrased that differently. It makes sense from the clubs financial point of view, but I don't really understand why fans get off on financial benefits of CL qualification.

The sooner we met the financial objectives the sooner it gave us free reign to spend. Although that seems to not have been the case despite us signing Mesut & Alexis. We're the most cash rich club in the World yet decided to only buy a keeper last year.

We had to qualify for a numerous amount of years in order to aid repaying our stadium debt. Now that's done and dusted and we're rich as fuck our ambitions should be higher than faffing about in fourth place and going out in the first knockout round year after year

Our season was wank, anyone who says otherwise is an idiot. Finishing above Spurs though when they had one of their best ever seasons in the Prem and one of our worst ever under Wenger in regards to points tally & football played is hilarious.

In all seriousness I think Klopp will do a good job at Liverpool. Bit of a bottler, but can see Liverpool challenging for fourth.

I didn't say otherwise, or that Klopp would prove to be a failure or do worse than Rodgers over the long term, or even that you were wrong to sack Rodgers.

But your season's been crap (hell we've been fucking awful and even if we lose the FA Cup will still have more to show for it). Cup runs or no cup runs you finished 8th, missed out on European football (largely due to your managers own hubris) and won nothing. It doesn't matter if your name is Jürgen Norbert Klopp, Brendan Rodgers, or Shirley Bassey. All I'm saying is, if you hadn't got rid of him already and Rodgers had delivered this season it would be seen as justification to sack him, not a success.
