#204600 An Argentine story
MáximoArgento
The club name shouldn't be misunderstood with another Argentine football club, Argentino de Quilmes, which is completely different and which plays in the Metropolitan zone and has nothing to do with CAAQ. As I suppose, knowing something about the Argentine football, the word Argentino in the name refers exactly to the interior localisation of the club.
In Wikipedia there is a very little information about the club, even in the Spanish one, so I only managed to know that the CAAQ was founded on the 8th of August of 1916. Its name was inspired by porteño Club Atlético Quilmes, that was founded in 1887 and is actually playing in the Primera División. It has been coronated champion of Argentina once in 1978, according to FM, but that statistics doesn't count the Amateur era of the Argentine football, where it could be champion more than once.
The CAAQ plays in Rafaela, Santa Fe province, in Argentina. Its stadium is named after Agustín Giuliani, who was the president of the club when the stadium was built. Its capacity in FM is of 3000 people, with a grass terrain and in good conditions. The club plays actually in the Zone 5 of the Argentino B, fourth level for clubs indirectly affiliated to the AFA. Also, participates this season in the Copa Argentina, going from the 1st preliminary round, the first round existing in the competition.
The club rivals are not mentioned in FM, but according to me they must be other clubs from Rafaela, especially 9 de Julio, Ben Hur and Atlético de Rafaela; the first 2 clubs play currently in the Argentino B, while Atlético participates in the Primera División.
