Well I just opened steam, played around and found the option 'view local files', opened that up and found the folder. Go figure. Now I can successfully download all of this.

Try and search your system to find the Steam folder. It MUST be somewhere...
Well I have a Steam app that I can open, but not as a folder. I did right click and choose 'show package contents', but then there is no SteamApps

I can't even find SteamApps when I do a search on my Macbook. Urgh this is frustrating

No, the file structure created by a disk installation and Steam download is the exact same so you shouldn't have a problem in installing these files.

To install the dbc, edt and lnc folders, you need to go to USERNAME \ Library \ Application Support \ Steam \ SteamApps \ Common \ Football Manager 2014 \ Data \ db \ 1400, as clearly indicated in the opening post.
The furthest I can get is up to Application Support. I don't have a Steam folder, but I bought the game with the online download off of Steam. I'm on the new Mac Maverick IOS if that changes anything.

Could I get some help please? I downloaded it online through Steam so I don't have the hard copy. I'm on Mac. When I go to Documents>Sports Interactive>Football Manager 14 but I don't see where to go after. My options are editor data(the only file in here is config.xml), games, matches, skins, sounds, and tactics. All those files don't have much in them. Really don't know what to do.
