No, the file structure created by a disk installation and Steam download is the exact same so you shouldn't have a problem in installing these files.

To install the dbc, edt and lnc folders, you need to go to USERNAME \ Library \ Application Support \ Steam \ SteamApps \ Common \ Football Manager 2014 \ Data \ db \ 1400, as clearly indicated in the opening post.

If you don't have a steam folder, then you don't have an official copy of this game, which means I'm not going to help you in the slightest.

Mons, I download FM14 and I install it on Xp windows does FM14 create steam folder on XP windows?

Hi mons. I have this folder : F:\Program Files\Football Manager 2014\data\db\1400\lnc,fm,fmc,dbc,edt. if I copy files in this folder instead of steam/steamapps/Football Manager 2014/data/db/1400, does it work? Thanks for your help.
