This is probably some of the best story I've ever read, can't wait for the continuance of it...

I had a Celtic-savegame myself once, I bought Ryan Gauld, John Souttar and Andrew Robertson from Dundee, I see you have two of the three... Also; Ross Barkley. Way to go! Really like what you've done. Liam Henderson turned out to be the heart and soul of my Celtic-squad back when I had that SG and over the course of 10-11 seasons, he really came through. What a talent

Thanks man! I missed out on Gauls to Spurs, he's unhappy there but wants £100k p/w. I'm sure his deal is expiring so hopefully he leaves on a free. Couldn't turn down Barkley at that price he'll be the real centrepiece of the squad this season.

ross barkley for 7 mil? absolutely amazing buy and for such a low price....

Couldn't believe it myself. Scouted him before the window opened and they wanted £15m but he was going into the last year of his deal. I scouted him again and bid right away.

End of the 2017/17 Season

I got a bit carried away and finished the season. It wasn't great, gutted to lose to Dortmund and not pick up maximum points from the SPL games then to go on and lose the Scottish Cup Final.

Well done in the La Liga mate, some very good signings. £10m for Buttner does baffle me though, he usually ends up transfer listed in most of my games.

Again been away from this and FM in general for a bit, rattled though the Euro group games. I went for a 4-2-2-2 formation, with the aim of being defensively solid (BWM and DLP on defend duty) and have various means of attack up front (AP and IF on the wings).

Competition started of great with a win over Bosnia thanks to a late Tony Watt goal. A late goal from Steven Fletcher then sealed a point against the Auld Enemy. This meant that the Hungary fixture was the decider and all but Bosnia could qualify. David Marshall played a blinder and kept us in the game despite conceding two.

The draw for the next round could have been easier, but it also could have been a hell of a lot tougher.

Also on another note in a few season when I get the right players in I'm looking to transform it into a Bayern-esq 4141. Currently lacking a CF/F9 (s/a), an intelligent HB (d) and an AP/CM (a) that suit the roles. Also by the time I get the others I'll probably need a new LIF (a) to replace Commons.

So here's my rant...

No matter what I do my crossing is terrible. I manage about 25% complete on a good day. I've trie both to improve this and reduce the number of crosses being made. Here is a list of the things I've tried:

- Instructed the wide players to cross less
- Tried exploit the middle
- Play narrower

I'm playing a 442, pretty standard. Except I'm using Kris Commons (LM) as a sort of Thomas Muller role, it's working pretty well so far. My two strikers are Anthony Stokes (DLF) and Leigh Griffiths (AF), 5'11" and 5'9" respectively. They work pretty well together so that's why I'm set on 442. Griffiths is pretty quick and Stokes isn't the slowest either.

I'm going to try early crosses, I'm hoping this brings a few more through balls than crosses, so I'll wait and see.

Is that the norm in terms of cross completion (opposition always have more) or have I got the tactics wrong/misunderstood something?

Any advice would be great

Been away from this for a while. Time to get cracking on I suppose...

Euro warm up matches underway. Started with a 1-1 draw with Switzerland, followed by wins over Ghana and Sweden. Excellent preparation for the tournament. Hopefully we carry it through into it.

Up next we face Bosnia & Herzegovina, England and Hungary in a bid to reach the knockout stages...

A great month in terms of results but injuries to James Forrest (2-3 months) and Remy Cabella (4 months) put a downer on the month overall.

A fairly active January for the club, a fair few youngsters were sent out on loan until the end of the season and Virgil van Dijk requested a transfer after I turned down a £8 million bit for him, Porto and Benfica then battled it out for him and he joined Benfica for just shy of £12 million.

An excellent addition in my eyes. Franco Zuculini is everything I've been missing since I sold Stefan Johanson. He is a long term replacement for Scott Brown/Darren Fletcher.

So that wraps up 2016. We sit 16 points clear and reach another consecutive Champions League last 16, tough opponents this time round though. Bayern will prove to be a huge test and I don't expect us to progress much further. Rangers are having a terrible season and will need a miraculous 2nd half of the season to even match last season.

We had a great month up until the final game. Just couldn't seem to get a shot away against Dundee Utd and our defence decided not to show up. Gutted with the draw against Arsenal we dominated the game and led for 75 mins. I went more defensive to hold out and the score minutes later.

Despite the poor start against Hearts we turned it around and went on a winning run. Fraser Forster missed most of these fixtures from injury, but he's back to full fitness now. Just in time for the group stages. We we're the 2nd seed and definitely benefited from it, I have no hesitations about reaching the last 16.
