Huddersfield Town A.F.C.
Team Report
by Frankie Bunn, Assistant Manager
Introduction
I'd like to start off by thanking you for appointing me to be your new Assistant Manager, and I look forward to forging a strong working relationship in the future.
Club Background
Huddersfield Town (aka The Terriers) were founded in 1908, and have played at the John Smith's Stadium since it was built in 1994. Huddersfield are one of the only four clubs in English football history to have won the top flight in three consecutive seasons (1924-26). As well as these honours, the club has won the FA Cup (1922), Sky Bet Championship (1970), FA Community Shield (1922) and Sky Bet League 2 (1980). As you can see, it has been a long time since Huddersfield have won a trophy and as a result any trophy you win during your time here will almost certainly make you a club legend.
The club's local rivals are Leeds and Bradford City, although we are currently experiencing a fierce rivalry with Sheffield Wednesday. You will be harshly judged by the fans on your results in these games, so make sure that you respect them.
Finally, the club has a strict philosophy that has become tradition over the years. The club ensures that it retains a very high majority of Homegrown players, and part of the way we have achieved this is by maintaining excellent youth facilities through which we can bring in our own players. You will be judged by your ability to give our young players a chance by the board, and you will be praised for sticking to signing Homegrown talent.
Backroom Staff
Following your decision to retain the existing club staff, we will continue to operate with a Director of Football.
First Team Squad
Due to the club's financial restraints, you may only be able to purchase one or two new additions to the team.
Therefore, I would recommend that you invest in cover for the Left-back position, as new signing Jason Davidson is currently the only player we have with the sufficient quality to play well in that position.
The squad could also benefit from higher quality in the goalkeeper department, following the departure of Alex Smithies to Queens Park Rangers.
Finances
Huddersfield Town are not rich - if anything, we are in rather a perilous financial position compared to most Championship clubs. However, given the profit made by former Huddersfield manager Chris Powell in the transfer window, the board have allocated the following funds so that you may bring in players to suit your playing style:
Transfer Budget: £2,000,000
Wage Budget: £10,000 per week
Given the financial situation of the club, the board advise that you do not spend excessive amounts of money and you will be judged harshly on your management of the wage budget.
Season Expectations
The board expect you to achieve a mid-table finish in the Sky Bet Championship. You will also be expected to reach the 4th round of the FA Cup and the 3rd round of the Capital One Cup, although the board's main focus will be on the Championship and they will expect yours to be, too.
The media have predicted Huddersfield to finish 20th in the Sky Bet Championship this season.
We as a club wish you good luck, and the board wish me to make it known to you that you have their full backing should you need it.

If people haven't figured it out already, this career story is pretty much kaput. Starting a more challenging story soon, so keep an eye out! I won't be moving too far from Manchester

So, a quick summary.
I should be posting updates around once a month (in-game time). I know that people tend to do less, but as this is my first game and I'm managing a club as simple and straightforward as Manchester United, the effort is going to be very much in the detail for this one. I have plans to start a more challenging story in the future!

TRANSFERS
The first thing that I noticed when checking out Manchester United's backroom staff, was the lack of a Head of Youth Development.
Having a Head of Youth Development is vital to achieving the philosophies set to me by the board.
Phil Cannon was unemployed, and accepted a very small salary in comparison to most Premier League staff in the same position.
Gianluigi fits into my plans perfectly, as he can learn a lot from Sergio off the pitch and keep De Gea on his toes in 4 years, after Valdes departs.
He was immediately put on an individual training focus to improve his Handling, and has been placed in the U21 squad.
I managed to sign him for just £1.6m on a Youth Contract, which will become a £3.5k p/w Full Time contract in February 2016.
Similarly to my previous signing, Daniele is from the Serie A in Italy. Perhaps the start of a future Italian defense core?
His current ability places him alongside Rojo as a "Rotation" player, but his potential is massive!
I've put him on an individual training regime to improve his Agility, but he's still injured for another 3-5 days.

FIXTURES
Not a good start to my campaign. Schweinsteiger (CM) put in a good performance but everyone else played terribly.
A poor showing against a League 2 club. James Wilson (ST) came off the bench to win the game with a screamer.
Young (LWB) and Valencia (RWB) put in good performances from their unfamiliar positions.
Good showings from Herrera (CM), Carrick (CM) and Valencia again (RWB), but still struggled to take advantage.
Another bore draw, poor performance all around. Shaw (LWB) and Martial (ST) were the only exceptions.
The scoreline didn't really do us any favours. We conceded a lot of free kicks, which they converted well.
Rooney (ST) scored the only goal, and had a penalty saved that would've brought us back to 2-2.
I'm not sure if it was my post-match tantrum after the Udinese result, or the change in tactics, that won this game.
Memphis (LW) had an incredible game against his former club, collecting a goal and an assist for his efforts.

PERFORMANCE
My team's recent form has been pretty poor, compared to how it should be.
James Wilson has got off to a flying start, and I'll be featuring him in some Premier League games at the start of the season.
Marouane Fellaini has also impressed me so far this season, despite getting himself sent off and suspended for 3 games.
