Scottish League Cup - Second Round

Hearts @ Forfar 3-1 Win

Hearts hammer Forfar Athletic FC

A potentially serious injury suffered by Forfar's Craig Smith overshadowed events on what was a mild summer's evening at Station Park.

Young forward Dale Hilson gave Forfar an early lead with a deftly executed finish in the 13th minute. It wasn't long after that Hearts young forward Dale Carrick leveled the score at 1-1 with a powerful shot from close range. Carrick then added his 2nd goal of the match with another close goal in the 48th minute as he was running the Forfar defence ragged.

Carrick completed the scoring for Hearts and got his hat-trick in the 87th minute as Hearts were able to move on by a score of 3-1. Hearts had 16 shots to 6 for Forfar and they were able to keep 54% of the possession in what turned out to be an easier match for Hearts.

Matchday #4
Aberdeen @ Hearts 3-1 Loss

Hearts powerless to resist as Aberdeen dominate

Aberdeen continue their prolific campaign with a 3-1 win at Tynecastle Stadium today.

It didn't start bad for hearts who thought that with Jamie Hamill's spot kick goal in the 42nd minute that they would take a 1-0 lead into halftime but it wasn't to be as Rory Donnelly equalized on the stoke of halftime into stoppaged time.

Forward Adam Rooney put Aberdeen ahead for good in the 68th minute with a tidy finish from 16 yards out. Aberdeen were not done yet as Donnelly added another to put Aberdeen through with 3 points and a 3-1 beating of Hearts at Tynecastle Stadium.

Matchday #3
Hearts @ Patrick Thistle 1-2 Loss

Hearts poor performance adds to disappointing defeat

Patrick Thistle fans left the Firhill Stadium wondering how they only won out 2-1.

Patrick Thistle took the lead in the 59th minute as Kris Doolan scored a placed shot that was a beauty. Young Brad McKay was caught out of position as Lyle Taylor got in behind him with the ball in the air to head home from close range. The match was being dominated by Patrick Thistle until Hearts caught a break as Ryan Stevenson brought one back for the visitors in the 87th minute. It was only consolation as Hearts were ran ragged today and beat in every aspect of the game. Patrick Thistle outshot Hearts by 19-7 and edged out possession with 53%. Good 3 points for Thistle and a poor result for Hearts.

Matchday #2
Hibernian @ Hearts 3-2 Win

Hearts triumph in Edinburgh Derby

Hearts have won a hard fought battle against Hibernian on a mild summers afternoon at Tynecastle Stadium.

Hearts captain Danny Wilson gave them the lead in the 23rd minute on a rebound attempt. He worked hard to stay with his shot and in the end it paid off. Hearts second goal came from Jaime Walker in the 41st minute with a well placed shot in which he slotted home calmly.

Experienced forward Paul Heffernan pulled one back for the visitors in the 49th minute and made it a 2-1 game. Then in the 67th minute it was Hibernian defender Michael Nelson who brought the match level with his goal coming off of a corner kick.

The final goal of the match came from Paul Heffernan who's own goal in the 89th minute gave Hearts all 3 points and a huge win over in town rival Hibernian.

Matchday #1
Hearts @ St. Johnstone 1-0 Win

We knew we would have to defend well if we were to get anything out of this match so I went with a 5-1-2-2 Defensive formation. At the end of the day we were lucky to get the 3 points against a better St. Johnstone team. They had 55% of the possession and 11 shots to my total of 5. It was a David Smith header in the 21st minute that put us ahead for good and from that point on we were under fire. We will take the 3 points and move on to our next match getting healthier by the day and gaining more confidence as a side.

Walsh: We may lose our better players

New Hearts boss Jeremiah Walsh has said that he may end up losing some of the clubs better players for the betterment of the clubs financial well-being. Hearts already start the season with a 15 point deduction.

Walsh had this to say on the matter ... "It's fairly obvious to everyone that the club is in a big mess financially and it will take some good business and solid football to get the club back on sound footing financially. We may have some of our better players leave the club in order to keep the club moving in the right direction. We will try not to sell any of our players until we are from under the embargo that the administrator has placed upon us but we know that may not be possible. We know that if a solid offer comes in for our players then they are most likely going to be allowed to leave.

The club has just come off the back of a major problem and we are still repairing the damage as we speak all the while trying to do what's best for the club. The loan repayments have already begun so that's a step in the right direction. While the administrator handles what's going on behind the scenes financially it is my job to get this club and our players focused on the upcoming season and our goal will be to kick on and achieve our goals for this coming season."

It's pissing ran outside of Tynecastle Stadium as I sit in the press room waiting for the Scottish media to assemble. I thought briefly, what in the hell are you doing here, what can an American manager who has never even played in this country offer this club. What will supporters think of you and your idea's. Will they be receptive or will it be a living hell here in Edinburgh?. As they start to file in my assistant manager, Billy Brown sits down next to me and asks, "How nervous are you now pal? No worries just relax." I take a deep breathe as the Press officer tells the media to go ahead with questioning.

Peter Macphee - BBC Radio 5 Live

"Hearts aren't the richest of clubs and this is seen by some as a serious roadblock. Do you think you will be held back by the financial situation of this club?"

Jeremiah Walsh - New Hearts manager

"I am in no way in charge of anything financial at the club at this point. We have an administrator who will be handling all things financial for the foreseeable future. So, to be honest I can't answer that question for you Peter."

Gary Welch - www.sportinglife.com

"You have taken charge when it is widely expected that Scott Robinson will leave the club. Can you keep him at Hearts? And do you want to?"

Jeremiah Walsh - New Hearts manager

"Ideally I would like to keep Scott here at Hearts but I do know that may not be possible. If he wants to stay then I think he can play a big part in the middle of the park for us where we need as much help as we can get. So to answer the question Gary, yes he is wanted here, and we are going to try and keep him here for as long as he wants to continue to put on a Hearts shirt and play for this wonderful club."

Raymond Small - The Scottman

" Do you feel that the expectations placed upon you with a 15 point league deduction are fair, and how do you go about achieving those expectations this season?"

Jeremiah Walsh - New Hearts manager

" Raymond, thanks for the question. I don't have any comment right now on what our goals are for this season. We will sit down as a group within the next week or two and figure out what a reasonable outcome to the season would be. This is a massive club with massive support so we know that we have to try and progress torward the higher reaches of the game. And in time we will figure that out."

I haven't done any "predictors" but in my estimation which could be way off here I would like to think that City, Chelsea, Arsenal and either Tottenham or Pool for that final position. The bottom 3 to me would have to be Leicester, Sunderland and either Burnley or West Ham. West Brom always find a way to stay up, same with Villa. I am just ready for the season to kick off and let's have another great season of Premier League football.

Is this going to be a career? If so, I'll move it to the careers section.

Actually mate, the save was lost on a total accident. Is it possible to delete this story and I will start another in the career threads? Thank you

Fußball-Club St. Pauli von 1910 e.V., commonly known as simply FC St. Pauli, is a German sports club based in the St. Pauli quarter of Hamburg.

In 2003-04 they dropped down to the Regionalliga, at that time the third football division in Germany and remained there for four years. In 2007, St. Pauli were promoted back to the 2. Bundesliga and in 2010, FC St. Pauli was promoted into the Bundesliga. For the 2013–14 season they are again playing in 2. Bundesliga which is the second highest division in Germany.

FC St. Pauli has a rivalry with Hamburg. While the footballers have enjoyed only modest success on the field, the club is widely recognised for its distinctive culture and has a large popular following as one of the country's "Kult" clubs. FC St. Pauli supporters are highly identified with left-wing politics and have a long-standing friendship with the supporters of Celtic Football Club from Scotland.

Until last season, their most recent appearance in the top flight had been a single-season cameo in 2001–02. A win against FC Bayern Munich, the reigning World Club Cup winners, led to the popular Weltpokalsiegerbesieger (World Club Champion beaters) shirts. However, the team finished last in the league, partly because the management did not trust the team which surprisingly won the promotion in 2001, but rather spent the additional money from Bundesliga TV contracts and advertisements on expensive but disappointing players.[original research?] After the relegation to the 2. Bundesliga, only a skeleton of the successful 2001 team remained; the season 2002–03 ended up in chaos, with the team fighting relegation (ultimately in vain) from the very beginning, various coaches departing and other problems internal to the club.

With the club almost bankrupt again and the less-lucrative Regionaliga Nord (III) looming, the club began its fund-raising activities, the so-called Retteraktion. They printed t-shirts with the club's crest surrounded by the word Retter (rescuer/saviour) and more than 140,000 were sold within six weeks. They also organized a benefit game, against Bayern Munich, to try to help rescue the club.

The club has also been active in terms of charity and in 2005 the club, the team and the fans initiated the Viva con Agua de Sankt Pauli campaign, which collects money for water-dispensers for schools in Cuba, for clean water in Rwanda et cetera.

During the 2005–06 season, the team enjoyed unprecedented success in the DFB Cup, with wins over Burghausen, Bochum and, significantly, Bundegsliga sides Hertha Berlin and, in the quarter-finals on 25 January 2006, Werder Bremen. Their 3–1 victory in front of a sell-out Millerntor crowd, and their subsequent place in the DFB Cup semi-final, netted the club approximately €1 million in TV and sponsorship money, going a long way to saving the club from immediate financial ruin.

St. Pauli finally went out of the cup to Bayern Munich on 12 April, going down 3–0 with a goal from Owen Hargreaves and two from Claudio Pizarro. Coincidentally Bayern Munich were also St. Pauli's opponents and dispatchers, in the first round of the following season's cup.

After success in the 2006–07 season, the team was promoted to the 2. Bundesliga.

After defeating Greuther Fürth in the 2009–10 season the team secured promotion back to the 1. Bundesliga for the 2010–11 season.

On 16 February 2011, during the 2010–11 season and for the first time since 1977, St Pauli defeated their bitter cross-city rivals Hamburger SV away at the Volksparkstadion courtesy of a Gerald Asamoah goal. However, the team finished the season last in the league going back to the 2. Bundesliga.

If you guy's would let me know if I'm in the right place or not I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for all of the help and feedback guy's, I'm looking forward to this one.
