Martinez has been a beast johno.He would get so many more assists if my forward and wingers were more clinical.

Thanks shedender.I thought we could of got it at one point but looking at the last 3 games of ourselves and Chelsea and Chelsea so close I had a feeling we wouldn't get it.It all mattered on the arsenal result but the reading result was horrible.

It is a tough group dan.Bayern are one of the best in the world still,roma have a good squad and leo their striker is someone I have thought about signing for a couple of years but keep getting put off by 40m price tag.Kobenhaven shouldn't be too tough so I am expecting to stay in European football at least.

Was going to go for Barbosa a few seasons back but he was on daft money at Wolfsburg.He has gone to PSG and cant get in squad so I have been licky enough to get him in.







Started the month off very well after the international break.Pashev with a goal and assist in this one.He is proving to be a good enough 1st choice st at the age of 19.Not happy with the Swansea result especially after our former man ben pearson got sent off in the 55th minute.We peppered the Swansea goal without being able to add to a tomas Martinez goal and as we went all out attack they scored on the break to secure the win.Back to winning ways against Newcastle and again pashev impressed with 2 goals.



After a bad season last time Tottenham are impressing and lead the way.They haven't played any hard teams yet though and I think its only a matter of time before they drop down a bit.We aren't in a bad spot in 4th but I will be hoping to rise up and challenge for a top 3 place this season at least.



Liverpool have again knocked me out of the league cup.3rd time in 6 seasons.Thats one trophy im not winning this year.



Rested a few players in this match and did well to come out with a 3-0 lead.Need to win both against kobenhaven if I am to stand a chance of qualifying.



Might not mean much but top of the group stage after game 1.Roma and Bayern played out a 0-0 draw at the Allianz arena.Good result for me and it would be again if the other one is a draw.



Very happy with this link.A lot of good youngsters come through river late and having first option will give me the opportunity to add more starlets to my already very good Argentinians I have now.

Next update - october

Another good month and good win in the cup.Tough game at Tottenham coming up but im sure you can get the required result.I have been called a lot of things but never an inspiration or anything like that.Glad your enjoying my save.Hopefully it will keep progressing as it is now.

I am giving him this season to impress me.If he does I will go for him.If not then I will leave it.This is actually his 3rd season on loan with us.He has been doing ok but not great.Hes best for his versatility I think.Chuffed to bits with hojbjerg on a free but oliveira cost a fair bit but he is someone I could have for over a decade easy.







3 games and 3 wins to start the season but I was always expecting to win these anyway.Worrying thing is we are still conceding a fair few goals.A very decent victory at Fulham to open the season up.Had a few of my new players play in this so it was a good win to bed them in a bit.The everton game could of actually gone either way but it went to us.Cahills own goal was comical.Good victory at portman road to end the month.Was impressed by Martinez.Again he has been my best player.3 games all 9.0 rating and all man of the match.Amazing player I cant recommend enough.



Going well in the league but it was to be expected with the fixtures we have had.Again the worrying thing is the goals against.You can only beat whats in front of you though so I am happy with the wins.



The 3rd time in 6 seasons we have to go to anfield in the early rounds of the league cup.I know I moan about it but its still really frustrating me that in the 13 draws I have been in in this competition I have only been drawn at home once and that was last seasons 2 legged semi final against Scunthorpe.Starting to think there is some sort of conspiracy against us.



Definitely my toughest group draw so far.Last season I was looking forward to the Bayern,shakhtar and saint Etienne draw.This time round I am a little nervous.Finish the group with a trip to baveria to play Bayern.That game could be very very important.





Finally my latest signings.Zivkovic was the one I was waiting on in the last update.He will be the direct replacement for Patrick Roberts.He is easily just as good as him.Gabriel Barbosa is a deadline day loan signing I made just for more depth.Not a bad player to have in your squad either especially as he is 3rd choice st,2nd choice amc or 3rd choice rw.If I got a few injuries he could prove vital.

Was a gutting way to end the season but as you said johno it was a good final placement.Martinez has been amazing ever since I got him and Im debating which is actually my best transfer when it comes to value for money.Martinez for 9m,roberts for 9.5m or gil romero for 5m.All have been great (except for a severe dip in form last season for Roberts).I did plan to move a couple of people on not just strikers.Lukaku has been either good or very poor and will keane is constantly complaining about lack of first team football even though he does get played a lot.With pashev playing so well in the handful of games I gave him I want to make him more of a senior figure so something will have to give.I am happy we have got the new stadium but the loan repayments aren't doing me any favours.

Good season last term but I didn't get the trophy I wanted (which was any) so I am aiming once again for a top 4 spot and a trophy.















Made some pretty good signings but as I usually do after a couple of years and have done a lot so far in this career I have mainly gone for regens.Taron dean came from sunderland is already pretty good.Sent him out on loan to get some first team games.Jamie moore was on loan at inverness when one of my scouts spotted him.Looks a great prospect and will be in and around my 1st team this season.Hojbjerg I actually arranged to sign in January 2018 and I thought I was getting him last summer but for some reason he only arrived this summer.Everyone knows about him and him,gil romero and oliver fighting it out for cm along with a kleeman and janashia makes my cm spots look great.Jaupi already looks a great prospect but I have also loaned him out.Ivo oliveira has come in to try and help my poor defence.Sam johnstone only got 4 clean sheets in 37 games last term and my new lad is one for the present but looks like he could be one of the best in the world.David Harvey is another who looks good now and can only get better.Seamus coleman wasn't all that great last term and though Harvey is best at cb I will be switching him about a bit depending on form and fitness.Mainardi has come in and will most probably be playing rw but is good at lw and st too.Along with all these I have retained bakkali on loan from man utd and his contract is up next summer so I may go for him on a free.I have one more pending transfer but its not completed yet so expect on the august update.



There are my transfers so far this window.Moved a few I wanted to move on like dier,lukaku,sarabia,johnstone and will keane but I didn't want to lose Roberts.Apparently he wanted to move to Chelsea as they were a bigger club and no matter what I did or say he was adamant he wanted the transfer.I was holding out for 40m but with his morale going low I decided to just let him go.Coote is another one I didn't really want to go but 12m is good business for him.



Pre season went well with just the one loss at Houston.Bakkali had a good one which is encouraging.Good to see one of my academy graduates scoring (Fernando).Got high hopes for him.



Probably could of shown him before.



Expectations are again high.I just want a trophy.



Decided to be sneaky and ask for a stadium expansion seen as the new stadium is still a little small.They agreed.

Next update - August

No idea whats happened to city but they haven't been good since before Christmas.I honestly thought I would of got through against porto but they were just too strong.Especially kenedy.

So porto have sent me out of the champions league but again we have had a decent run making it to the quarter finals again.Still got the league to play for but Chelsea have by far the easiest run in.









Started off very well with a win at craven cottage.Cauley Woodrow with a good hat trick on his return to keep our title hopes alive.Then came another good win against Liverpool but we was lucky to get this one.Then the arsenal game really threw a spanner in the works.They were by far the better team and it looked like the lads might throw it away.Finally a game we should of won and by a few but the lads have completely bottled it.I went all out attack in the hope of getting something and it looked good when rodriguez put us in front but berahino got a double for the rock bottom side and reading won.



So in the end we lost it in the last 2 games.I am proud the lads achieved 2nd place but I cant help but feel down about losing the title.Chelsea secured they're 4th consecutive title and fair play to them.




Quick roundup of the players stats this season.There will be a shake up of the forward line as I am not too happy with them.Lukaku in particular can play a few good games in a row then have 5 without going over 6.5



I am happy with Martinez this season.He has been incredible again.Good that he has retained this award and I don't think any young player gets near him.



My first major award.





Good to see the money going up.No surprise about the top 3 shirt sales.Woodrow and lukaku haven't been that good so I am a little shocked at those.



No real surprise there except baines being in the top 3.Didnt think he was that great and will probably play 2nd fiddle to van putten when he comes back from loan.



And finally we have now moved into our new burnley stadium home.

It was a shame about both cups.Chesterfield ended up going out at home to crystal palace.Have to think I could of won that and be in the semis.The stoke match was not to be.They deserved it though.Either the champions league or the league would be great but I think the league cup was my best shot this season getting to the final against stoke.







The Huddersfield result reminded me of the chesterfield match where a sending off where the sending off changed the game massively.After going in front I thought we would of won by a few but dier got sent off and they were all over us.The most surprising thing is it took them so long to equalise.I was hoping to get the draw but they got the winner late on.Got back to winning ways against forest but they were much tougher than I expected them to be.David silva was a thorn in my side all the way through.I have no idea what has happened to city this season.They offered me very little trouble and we deserved the 3-1 victory.



The title race is very close.1 slip up by us will surely hand Chelsea the title.Its almost certain to be one of us who will win it.My defensive record continues to be a shambles and we have still conceded more goals then Huddersfield who are battling relegation.We have secured a top 4 place at least.



Was very lucky to get a draw in this one.Kenedy was all over me.I was thinking of getting him a couple of years back before he moved to porto and I regret not doing on that performance.Got it all to do in the 2nd leg.



And we just couldn't do it.We did go ahead and at the time I was debating changing my tactic to a defensive one but didn't and just like the first leg they dominated the chances.Kenedy again was the best player on the park for me.Out at the quarter finals just like last season.



Got myself another commercial link.My 3rd and most probably final one.This will help me in the long run.

On the whole it wasn't a great month but we continue to fight for the league.I am gutted to go out of the champions league but all is not lost.

Next update - May

Not a bad couple of months really.Think its safe to say you are in the final and the league looks like it could be a 2 horse race unless legia go on a crazy win streak.But then again they are still in touching distance.That game in hand could be crucial.

Not the best month and the lead being at 7 points only makes it harder.Still plenty of time to go but as dan said you could do with turning the form around a bit more.

A poor February and we needed to pick ourselves up.A lot to look forward to in march though.A league cup final against stoke,A champions league tie with schalke and my league games were all winnable on paper.










A very good month really.Was lucky to get the win against Cardiff to be honest and it was a very lucky time to be playing a team at the bottom given our recent form.The stoke match was as boring as they come and only 1 real highlight came from lukaku hitting the bar.The same cant be said for the villa match.As entertaining as they come.Paterson had a great game but I was also impressed by kleeman.Set up a lot of good chances and got himself on the scoresheet too.Crystal palace were no match for me and it was interesting seeing the Fulham - Chelsea game in the corner.That one ended 4-4.Paterson again was impressive.Not a bad player for what I paid for him and hes only on 15k a week too.



Chelsea were level on points with me and above me on goal difference going into the last 2 league games but draws against city and Fulham dropped them to 2nd.Still not sure if I can win it but after that month we are back on a high.



Great 2nd half performance from the lads secured my place in the quarter finals for the 2nd year running.Again tomas Martinez was the best player on the park and thoroughly deserves the new 100k a week contract I have got him signed to.Had to move quick as Chelsea had taken notice.



Could that draw get any better for me?Ok maybe if I was away first but to get the easiest team left and one I played twice last season and beat both times is a stroke of luck.Im pretty positive about getting to the semis.After that im not too sure.



Wish I could say I saved the best till last but it was more Wembley heartache for me.Might only be the league cup but I really wanted it and we didn't really deserve to even take them into extra time.I am still top of the league though.I wanted a trophy so maybe just maybe it will be the league.

Decent couple of wins mate.I reckon youll end up pipping them to the title given your form.

Horrible month johno.Only good things are the 2 wins that have kept us top and the draw in Germany but to go out of the FA cup to chesterfield was an embarrassment and the losses to united and Chelsea were very poor.

Thanks for reading leegee.Im a boltoner myself so not too far away.I like bringing in young players but admittedly mosthave been foreign imports but I have already targeted a couple of british regens I may try to bring in in the summer.My champions league squad registration for last 2 seasons have had 3 players who would never get near my team just to get those 4 players needed trained at the club and my task has gone harder as crnigoj has now gone.Wasnt too bothered about playing at turf moor but moving to a new stadium in a few months time can only be good.Just need pay off this pesky 450k a month loan.

Clean sweep is certainly unexpected if I did get it.I would be just happy with a trophy and a top 4 spot but with me being in a good position there could be a league title in the end if I play my cards right and I get a bit of luck.











Not a good month for me in the slightest.Lost big to open the month against man utd.We were ridiculously poor against them.That seemed to be continuing against Swansea with a poor first half display until we turned it around with a fantastic 2nd half performance.The biggest match was another loss at home to Chelsea and again we were poor.We just couldn't cope with eden hazard and his deliveries.Again we had another comeback performance at everton and we looked very good at times.Then came another poor loss this time at home to a Tottenham side who have looked ordinary at best this season.



Shockingly enough after a very bad month we are still top but only as Chelsea have drew so many matches.I am starting to think its only a matter of time before they do overtake us and if we carry on anything like this month I do fear for our top 4 spot.At least I have an easy game in the FA cup game right?



WRONG!!!Michael keane seemed to perfonally sabotage the match getting sent off in the 11th minute and though we dominated with 10 ment and had chance after chance after chance but with 33 shots and the lions share of the possession we could only muster up 1 goal.I honestly thought we could of gone far in this competition but that's football.Michael keane didn't enjoy getting a 2 week fine afterwards and kicked up a fuss which is still ongoing.



Despite the poor month domestically right at the end of the month we did get a good result in Germany.We were 2 up and got pegged back to 2-2 and they were all over me but we clinged on to a draw and great news for the 2nd leg with alvarez balanta got a 2nd yellow card and wont be involved in the return leg.

The league cup final against stoke is the 1st match of march and will be coming in the march update.Morale isn't high and I do have a couple of injuries so I am a lot more nervous about it then I was at the start of the month.

A decent couple of months since my last comment.Good job.4 points can be made up in the rest of the season for sure.Good luck.

Very good recovery month mate and only 4 points off top now.Keep it up.

I am pretty happy with the draw to be honest but I had a look at schalkes team and not only have they got my old boy Sigurdsson they have a also got a great squad.Going to be a lot tougher than galatasaray and I think we would be luclky to get through.





2 wins from 2 but both were only by the odd goal so im not too thrilled about them.Twice I squandered a lead against Norwich and did well to manage a 3rd as Norwich were the stronger team.That Newcastle game was one of the luckiest I have seen for a long time.Losing and didn't look like scoring until they got a man sent off then we dominated.Only just managed it though.



Those 2 wins have made a difference though as we are still top and with Chelsea struggling a bit this season we are now 4 points clear and have a game in hand.Still hoping that goal difference doesn't come back and haunt me as anything can happen in football.



Very good win against derby.Patrick Roberts had just spent a couple of weeks in the u21s as he was playing poorly and this was his comeback game.Very happy with how he did.



A trip to the ricoh arena was next in the FA cup and another win.Tomas Martinez was again our main player with a goal and assist.Concerned that they found a way back into the match though.



A favourable draw for us in the 5th round.Another away game but chesterfield are the lowest ranked team left.





Sure we are through to the final of the league cup but to concede 4 goals in 2 games including losing the 2nd leg 2-0 against a league 1 side isn't good.To think they were only 1 goal away from getting through is worrying.In the 3 matches in a row we played against league 1 opposition we conceded 6 goals.Wish I could say we played a very weakened side but we didn't.We got the job done though I suppose but my defence is really worrying me and I think changes will be made in the summer.



Stoke in the final.Havent lost in the last 5 against them which is encouraging but if my defence plays as bad as they can do I don't think ill be winning.I am confident though.Just need to get the goals we can do.



On the transfer front I lost a couple of players I certainly didn't want to.Domen crnigoj has been wanted on and off for a couple of years and I finally gave in after an offer of 18m came in.I think peter kleeman and zaza janashia have been performing great and I am happy for them to step up a bit more.Matias Martinez is a strange one.At Madrid were interested and he told me wanted more of a key role so I offered him a new contract as key player and doubled his wage and he accepted but the unhappiness never went away and after a bit a reminder came up about him wanting a key role at the club and his morale was down to abysmal so I offered him about and he went to Huddersfield.Didnt want him to go though and brought ryan Bertrand in on loan as a replacement.Damyan pashev is actually my top scorer but the other 3 strikers are all moaning about lack of first team football so I loaned him to Newcastle and will probably play him as my main striker next season after selling at least one of will keane,romelu lukaku or cauley Woodrow.

Ouch not a great start but im sure youll start getting some wins.

I don't know how that happens as often as it can do kez but its annoying to watch.

Cheers dan.The squad have been performing well.Been lucky in picking up some of the lads for reasonable fees over the years and in getting the fees I have asked for but I have now got a squad I think can challenge the top 4.Europe will be a lot tougher though.

Johno mate that saint-etienne match was horrible to watch but the rest of the month was decent.At least we are still in the champions league though and have a half decent chance of qualifying.















A fantastic month picking up some great wins.Man city have been a really bad slump but its still always good to pick up anything at the ettihad.They never really troubled me though.Our main problem continues though as we are still shipping too many goals in.Picked up a couple of great wins against Liverpool and arsenal too.Having to come from 2 down at anfield shows the fight my team have in them.Wasnt too happy about the Southampton draw.They are a team who could very easily go down.



Before the Southampton game I was 5 points clear and Chelsea had to go to old Trafford so I knew if I won that game we could of been as many as 8 points clear but Chelsea won at old Trafford and we could only draw.Still got a good little lead but our goals against are really going against us when it comes to goal difference.



Good result and good as I used a lot of my squad players.Janashia my 19 year old Georgian wonderkid was immense in this one and scored a stunner.Through to the semi finals of the league cup for the 1st time.



I have to be happy with that draw.Surely the lads can secure a final place and we have to be considered favourites to win it.Our first home draw in this competition and trust it to come in the 2 legged semi final.



We played derby at this stage a couple of years back and after a 2-2 draw at their place we won the replay 3-1.Hopefully there wont be another replay as January is already busy enough.



Fantastic win against Bayern secured my next round place and top of the group again.As the screenshot says our set pieces were key today with all 3 goals coming from set pieces.The free kick from Martinez was stunning.



Was important we didn't lose as saint Etienne crushed shakhtar in Ukraine.Still great to see us top this group.



Got a very tricky first knockout tie against schalke.They will prove to be much tougher than galatasaray were last season im sure.



Got myself a new contract until 2022.By then I am hoping for premier league success and maybe European success in either the Europa or the champions league.

Fantastic month for us.We are really kicking on now and maybe we can win the league.Im not expecting it though as Chelsea do still look strong.We are competing though.
