I'll take second if it comes to it SBR, I think I done that in the Championship back in England and counted it.

They will Gendo but it looks a little too late for us.

It had been a decent start here in Poland with Jagiellonia and with us already moving up the table and into second place our eyes were firmly set on holding this league position now and going up via straight promotion if we weren't to catch the league leaders this would have to be the next best thing. April was our penultimate full month of action.


A month which started so strongly soon petered away leaving us without a win in our final two games, we started well as I said, recording three wins on the bounce with the second and third keeping clean sheets as well, but something turned to see us lose out in our fourth game of the month and only manage a draw in our final game.

First up a trip to Gornik Leczna and a battled four one victory which we deserved, eventually. We started brilliantly as Hegic netted after ten minute and Fryc made it two nil in thirteen. We turned poor, conceding before the break and not playing well second half until we were gifted two late penalties which Hegic dispatched of as we won four one.

We followed that up with a superb five nil victory over Sandecja as our fine form continued. Baiano started the onslaught whilst Fryc made it two nil come the break. Second half Hermel struck a brace with Bulic netting our fifth and final goal of the game.

A second clean sheet on the bounce came when we beat MKS Kluczbork in our only home game this month. Fryc firing us into the lead five minutes before the break with Stryek making it two nil with half an hour remaining.

A shoddy performance against Okocimski saw us get what we deserve, nothing. It ended up being a seven goal game which we lost four three. Bekic and Crnkic (2) were on the scoresheet for us but we didn't do enough to win this.

Then a disappointing two all draw with Flota after we raced into a two nil lead in twenty minute when Olszewski and Fry both netted only for us to throw it away.


With just five league games remaining it looks to bet Podbeskidzie' league title to lose as they now move eleven points clear of us and just a win or two away from securing promotion back to the top flight. However for us the battle goes on as we sit just three points clear of third place Piast who are bound to push us all the way for that second and final promotion spot.

I'd be very surprised if we did Shedender

Here was the final month of the season and with any luck the final month in this tier in Polish football. It had been another doddle job to jump straight into and hopefully secure promotion to the top tier. Five games left this season to try and secure the league title if not promotion itself would do me once again.


Well, an unbeaten run in but it wasn't the greatest. It started well with a superb four nil home win followed up by another home game and a five one win. But then it turned with us drawing our final three games one all. Surely this would never be enough to secure the league title...would it..


Nope, no league title, but second place will do me (just as it did back in the English Championship) I will count this as we've still won promotion out of the second tier in Poland to the top tier. We were never going to catch the league leaders when I joined the club, but glad we got promotion.

OK so I was incorrect in you winning the league, 'grats on finishing runners-up though.

I never thought we would the league Shedender, we can't all quite have the same record as you!

So as the title and screenshot suggests, its time up here at Jagiellonia and potentially in Poland for the time being. This was my shortest job to date, lasting just one hundred and fifty three days. A total of fifteen games, nine wins along with five draws and the single defeat in my time here. We scored forty and conceded just sixteen. The league promotion too.

Thanks SBR, it was always going to be one mighty challenge!

Having been out of work once again I tried hard to get back into the game, applying for jobs in England and Ukraine however it would prove to be a longer stay in Poland that was on the cards and this was an opportunity I felt I could tick off Poland over the next two years or so, but who were the lucky side?


Lech Poznan were in fact that side, they've struggled over the last few season and are without a title in the last three years, they've failed to get off to a good start this year and having sacked their manager in a struggling position, I'm hoping I can be the man who can turn them around and challenge for that league title.


Well on your left, the current league table standings and as you can see, I take the club over in ninth, struggling at that whilst Legia, the current three times holders of the league title, sit ahead of us but also have a game in hand. You may also notice former side Jagiellonia sit above both these two sides up in sixth. With any luck we can string together a good run and claim our first time in four year.

With just the one game in August once I had taken the reigns here at Lech it seemed all but pointless to do an update for that, so I've played through September and added the two months together, its still not going to be a massive update as we played just six games, five in the league to try turn their early poor form around whilst the remaining game was in the cup.


The revival has started and its started well in my eyes as I went on to witness my side turn their poor start to the season around, winning their first five games under my management before we lost in the final game of September. Hopefully its a sign of things to come for the remainder of the season as we are scoring for fun, keeping two clean sheets along the way.

First, a trip to Lechia who were sitting in second as we took them on, but a dominant four two win got me off on the right foot with the fans. Muller netted a hatrick, the third and final one coming from the spot whilst Pyrka netted the final goal of the game in this four two victory.

A second trip saw us travel to Ruch Chorzow where we replicated the same scoreline. We initially went behind here before Pyrka levelled for us and Bica fired us two one up. It was level at two a piece before the break. Muller then struck a penalty less than a minute into the second half whilst Sikoski netted twelve minutes from tie, putting the game beyond doubt.

My first home game in charge also saw our first clean sheet of my reign as we hit four goals for the third game running. Pyrka making it three goals in three games for himself with the only first half goal. Bica netted for a second game running before Wolkiewicz and Muller found the target to help take us to the dominant win.

We faced a little scare in the Puchar Polski fourth round as under dogs Arka played out a five goal thriller with us. Muller netted after nine minutes to fire us infront before we conceded. We retook the lead through Dabrowksi before the break then saw Bica make it three one. But the travelling side pushed and brought another goal back, just unlucky to crash out as we advance.

A third home game on the bounce saw us beat Pogon one nil. Scarlata netting the only goal of the game seven minutes into the second half.

And then month would end with a trip to Widzew and a defeat. Bica netted after just six minutes but we switched off and trailed three one at the break. Muller netted twice, either side of Widzew' fourth of the game. Muller now making it eight goals in just six games.


Sixth place and on the rise, we need to try and keep it going. Disappointed that Legia have also climbed the table along with us, our game in hand can see move up to second place should we win it. Shame to see Jagiellonia slip all the way down to fourteenth now.

Bar that league defeat, you have made a solid start to life at Lech.

We sure have Shedender, its important it continues now though!

A strong start to the top tier in Poland I was hoping it could continue and that we could begin to rise up the table and force our way to the top spot over the next few months. With another four games on the agenda this month, it would be great if we could win all three league games and advance through another round of the cup.


Well, unbeaten but by no means the best month we could of produced. We ended the month with two draws and two wins from our four games.

A trip to Nieciecza saw us come out with just a two all draw. We raced into a twenty four minute two goal lead as Pyrka netted before an own goal sent us two up. But we went on to conceded twice in the second half to throw away two points.

A narrow four three away win followed. We narrowly beat Pobdeskidzie in a game which should of been much clearer for us. Mihaylov netted a hatrick for us whilst Pyrka grabbed the other game for us.

Another poor showing, this time against Arka just as we did in the cup against them last month. Muller gave us the lead before the host pulled one back. Wolkiewicz then put us two one up before the break before we once again, conceded.

We'd end the month with a win, beating GKS Katowice three one after extra time in the cup. We led after eleven minutes before conceding a penalty before the break. In Extra Time there were goals for Tudose and Bica as we advanced.


Up another position as we now sit fifth and hot on the heels of Legia who despite their poor start I'm, sure will still be the main rivals to us this season. Win our game in hand against my former side and we should move up to third place.

What is with Lechia and Cracovia this year?!

Still plenty of season left to play, you can do it!

This is why I enjoy playing into the future Gendo, twenty nine seasons in and chaos among some of the leagues! Always good to see new challengers however I do hope we can catch them!

Another position gained throughout October saw us head into November up in fifth, the revolution and turn around here in Poland continues and as we begin to close in on a winter break I was hopeful we could extend this run to then at least. We just needed to continue picking up the points in this all league action month.


We let ourselves down on the final game of the month for us. We started well with two wins from three games, drawing the game in the middle but losing at the end of the month has faltered our good run of the last two months. Once again Muller is the man of the month as he fires in eight in three games.

A good start to the month saw us welcome Korona Kielce who we went on to beat four one. Muller struck two penalties inside the opening nineteen minutes whilst Mihaylov also struck a goal as we battered our opponents here.

A two all draw away at Slask wasn't the best result. Muller once again netting twice but a shame we couldn't battle to all three points here.

Another game where we hit four goals, a four two win over Zaglebie Lubin. Muller once again superb however he did hit two penalties once again but took his tally to eight goals in three games. Pyrka with our other goal.

A disappointing way to end the month, a two nil defeat away at Zawisza.


Up to third and well in the title race now. Lechia lead the way with a two point gap over second place Cracovia whilst we sit in third a further point behind, leaving us just four points off the top. Its pleasing to see Legia' title hunt is beginning to peel off a little as they sit down in sixth as we surpass the halfway stage of the season.

Finn Muller is quite the sharpshooter this month. Great trending upward now, just two teams in front before the winter break hits.

The final month of the calender year was here and its a whole year I've spent in Poland now, bar maybe a few weeks at the start, I can't remember precisely. Either way its been a pretty good calender year and now we just need to try and end on a high to put us in good stead going into the winter break.


A perfect way to end the calender year, two superb four one victories with the second one at home against the league leaders. This has really put us in good shape as we head into the winter break and the second half of the league season.

First of two games in Deceber saw us travel to Gornik Zabrze and the first of two four one victories this month. Bica netted our first goal of December before we quickly conceded one. We led two one at the break with Wolkiewicz sending us ahead. Mihaylov sent us three one up before a late Muller goal in injury time.

We then welcomed league leaders Lechia who we also beat four one. We were behind before Muller levelled four minutes before the break. Pyrka netted fifteen minutes from time sent us into the lead before Bica netted within a minute after. Muller then netted a penalty in injury time.


Nineteen games in and its beginning to look like its all to play for. We go into the New Year and winter break sitting second place just a point behind league leaders Lechia. We have a three point gap of second place Arka whilst Slask and Cracovia sit four points behind us. Its close but we are the 'in form side' at the moment. A bit like the Scottish league, after thirty games the league splits into two for the championship stage and the relegation stage.

That'd be nice Johno, however the only thing with that is I don't ever plan on staying here too long.

Another winter break has come and gone and its been fairly good for us, I won't run down the friendlies but overall we performed very well and that puts us in great shape for the return of the competitive fixtures here in February. We restarted the league with four games including one against Legia, the struggling giants.


Not a bad return from winter thats for sure and it certainly keeps up our strong fight this year. Shame about the one defeat but a win over Legia which was important and two wins to end the month.

We beat Legia to kick off the month three two here. Pyrka and Oliveira sent us two nil up in six minutes. However we went on to concede one either side of the break as the host came back level but Bica went and put the game beyond doubt six minutes from time.

A defeat against high flying Cracovia set us back a little as we lost out one nil here.

Returning home we welcomed Ruch Chorzow who we beat three one. Tudose netted after ten minutes to send us on our way whilst Muller returned from the winter break with his first two goals of the calender year.

And to end the month, a superb four one victory of Widzew. We initially trailed early on before Wolkiewicz levelled two minutes into injury time. Second half we played better, Mihaylov sent us two one up before Wolkiewicz had a second for us. Ivanov netted the final goal a minute before time.


The league remains very tight for us we remain two points behind league leaders Lechia who really are in this title race. We then sit six points ahead of third place Slask, fourth place Cracovia and Arka who sit in fifth. Legia sit down in sixth.

Some good months at Lech since I last had the chance to comment and you're right in the title picture, of course no doubt you'll wrap the league up in style. KIU though, good stuff.

I don't know if we'll wrap it up yet Shedender let alone in style! But hopefully its almost a done job.

Into March and it would be the busiest month to date and maybe for the rest of the season. It could be a massive month for us with a chance of going top as well as extending our cup run with any luck. Our form had been great of late, its time to try and press on.


As I said, the busiest month I've faced in Poland to date. We ended up facing seven games across twenty eight days but once against faired very well in both domestic competitions. We advanced through the cup quarter finals and have a great first leg win in the Semi Final whilst we won another three of four league games.

First up the First leg of the Puchar Polaski Quarter Final travelling to Zaglebie Lubin where we grabbed a narrow four three victory. Our goals came from Mihaylov, Bica and Muller striking twice, his second just two minutes from time as he fired us into a first leg victory.

We lost when we returned to league action, welcoming Nieciecza as we losing three two. Bica provided two second half goals but it wasn't going to be enough.

A trip to Pogon saw us come out four nil winners as we bounced back brilliantly here. Hlavac netting two minutes before the break set us on our way. Muller struck two minutes after the restart before an own goal and one from Bica secured the win.

The second leg of the cup quarter Final saw us welcome Zaglebie Lubin and draw one all here. We trailed at the break before Muller netted second half as we advanced five four on aggregate into the Semi Final.

Our final home game of March saw us welcome Podbeskidzie who we beat four one. Another strong showing, three goals before the break as Bica netted twice and Tudose struck a rare goal. Muller netted four minutes into the second half which saw us four nil up before we conceded.

A trip to my former home at Jagiellonia saw us do the double over them this season with this three one win. We trailed at the break before Pyrka levelled and Mihaylov put us in the lead just two minutes after being level. Tudose put it beyond doubt five minutes from time.

We ended the month with a trip to Cracovia in the Puchas Polski Semi Final First Leg where we won three nil. Pyrka netted after nine minutes before Muller struck in the second half as did Bica as we ran to a three nil win.


Top of the pile at last! We have three games until the table is split into two and we play out the rest of the season. But we aren't assured to go in at the top of the pile just yet. We sit just a point clear of second place Lechia but our game in hand can see us move four points clear. Legia are now up to third.

Not a bad couple of months really.Think its safe to say you are in the final and the league looks like it could be a 2 horse race unless legia go on a crazy win streak.But then again they are still in touching distance.That game in hand could be crucial.

Thanks SBR, its been a strong couple months and we are really pressing and pushing everyone else in the competitions now! Legia won't give up thats for sure!

The penultimate month of the season was here and it was time to really try and press on and put us beyond the reach of the remaining pack. Whilst we weren't going to be able to fully do that this month, it was important we tried to extend the gap as much as possible. However we also had the chance of playing the Polish Cup Final this month if we held our nerve in the Semi Final.


Another strong month, still unable to complete a perfect month in what seems like forever! But the points continued to roll in and our chance in the Puchar Polski came as we reached the final where we faced rivals Legia, more on that later. Four league games with the latter in the 'Championship Group' as we head towards the end now.

A massive six two victory over Arka saw us kick April off on the right foot. We played very well here. There were 'braces' for Muller and Bica, both grabbing a goal in each half whilst Mihaylov and Pyrka both netted in the opening twenty four minutes as we strolled to victory here.

A three all draw in the second leg of the cup semi final against Cracovia wasn't brilliant but enough to see us through. We didn't play too well here at all. Bica, Scarlata and Ivanov were on target for us.

Bouncing back in the league and to winning ways as we beat Korona Kieice three one. Muller and an own goal sent us to an eighteen minute two nil lead. We conceded one before the break before Muller had a second late on.

We lost at home against Slask as we played poorly and got what we deserve, nothing in this two one defeat, Bica netting our goal.

Then we entered the Championship Group, our first of seven games against Lechia at home who we beat two one. Bica sent us ahead after fourteen minutes with an own goal sending us two up after half an hour, we conceded in the second half but done enough for the win.


And this is how the month ended! Cup champions as we beat Legia two one here in the final! We almost went ahead inside the opening minute but failed. It was twenty nine minutes from time where we eventually broke the deadlock through Muller. Pyrka sent us two one up thirteen minutes from time before Legia had one back in injury time proving to be a consolation at most.


The Championship group has started and we are ahead by five points. Its sure to be a close run in, we have six games in May to now try and secure the trophy and make sure its ours and the double is secured. Legia losing their opening game has all but put them out the competition now.

Here it is! The final month of the league season and all we are trying to do now is secure the league title to add to our cup win last month. Could I really turn the squad around and take them to the league and cup double after their stuttering start when I took over at the start of the season, it'd leave me with just one trophy left in Poland...


Well I think that form speaks for itself, we already had a small but comfortable lead at the top of the pile, we then go and win five of our final six games in the Ekstraklasa Championship Group, drawing the remainin game. Our form was pretty special, Bica was amongst the goals, netting seven in six games whilst Muller had a couple more to his superb season. Two clean sheets in the middle of the month too.


Confirmation of the league win, we were dominant in the Championship Group stage seeing us win six and draw one of our seven games and this saw us crowned champions. We won the actual league title by just four points over Lechia who pressed us all the way it has to be said. Legia finish third and secure Europa League football whilst its disappointing to see former side Jagiellonia finish fourteenth and relegated after their strong start.
