You have to add that extra file to the game.

Is it possible to make Van der Vaart a non player and coach? He aspires to get into coaching so this way he would still be in the game....

I know he has been changed to a Staff in the Extra File...

Hmmmm I thought we established if we ‘retire’ someone’s player profile it removes them from the game completely?
