Excellent result tonight. Feared the worst after the first 15 minutes, but after that we played some great stuff, we really are good to watch when we're in full flow. Totti's a genius and Osvaldo is lethal. We'll never be too strong at defending under Zeman, but I really like Castan, solid.

Udinese at home next, will be tough but should be capable of winning, need to be in good form before the derby.

It was always gonna be a set-piece yeah, Sunderland were toothless from open play. Which is poor considering the amount of money they've spent.

Not sure about the sending off. Although it was stupid to give the ref a chance to send him off after the whistle had already gone, it wasn't two-footed nor did he dive in/follow through. Would have probably given him a yellow and a talking to.

Aye, starting Bonera and Yepes instead of Mexes and Zapata is baffling.

Just seen the Juve goals for the first time on Youtube. Great strike by Pogba.

You got over the line in the end Hibee, good result.

Can't believe Milan have lost 5 from 8, that shouldn't be happening to any Milan team.

Black needs to feck off before he makes himself hated, absolutely desperate for a manager. No faith at all in that lot to get it right. A lot of us are sure they're waiting for Black to scab a win against some no-hopers so they can give it to him, thus giving Shebby more control over another 'yes man'.

Allegri's needs to go. Galliani and Berlusconi may have f*cked Milan over in the summer but it's still a good enough squad to be much higher up in the league than they are. From what I saw in the Inter game, and other defeats like the Samp one, they're pretty toothless.

ONE fan BR, one fan.

I know it was just one fan who did the assault, was just saying there were more who got on the pitch.

That push would definitely knock you down by the way, wasn't a soft little tap like the Dida incident at Celtic. Especially coupled with the unexpectedness of it all.

Can't believe Neil Warnock said Kirkland went down like a ton of bricks. Wow. Absolutely no need at all.

There was more than 1 idiot on the pitch too. They can't have much going for them in life if they invade the pitch after an equaliser by Michael Tonge in a game against Sheffield Wednesday.

Anyone else fancy Napoli to win tomorrow night? Just got a feeling.

Going for Lazio-Milan to be a draw, although if anyone was to win, it'd probably be Lazio - couldn't believe how bad Milan were against Inter.

Sunday night is where it's at though - Genoa v Roma need a win.

Searched but couldn't find a thread about other European WC qualifiers.

Germany went 4-0 up at home to Sweden after an hour and ended up drawing 4-4. Whilst the current Germany lot might technically be decent, they haven't got anything like the mental strength that past Germany teams had.

On the other hand, Italy beat Denmark 3-1 despite losing Osvaldo to a red card just after HT when it was only 2-1. Forza Italia!

N.Ireland winning 1-0 at Portugal at HT, Portugal are garbage in qualifiers.

Here's a little stat for you, BR. Italy have scored 8 goals in their last 5 matches. 6 of those goals have been scored by Roma players. ItalJuve? Nah, ItaliRoma.

Didn't realise it was that many, good stuff. Hope our players don't have bad backs, carrying all those Juventini can't be easy

Cannot believe Clive Tyldsley called San Marino 'disappointing and unambitious'. What on earth was he expecting? Country of 30k v a country of 50m. What a spaz.

I'm interested to see his team talk at the end of the West Brom game. I didn't think they'd be allowed to show his PL team talks but they showed a bit of the pre-match West Brom one in the preview at the end of the last show so hopefully they will do.

Don't think there's any chance of Coyle coming here, thankfully. Although he only lives a couple of mins drive away from our training ground, funnily enough.

No idea who we're gonna get. Venky's haven't got one thing right since they bought us, our only hope is Shebby Singh for christ's sake, we're such a mess.

From the SkySports article on Howe:

"Howe has today left Burnley Football Club for personal and family reasons."

I wouldn't want my kids brought up in Burnley either. Kean to Burnley? That'd be awesome.

Steve Kean has put his name in for the Bolton job - just over a week since he quit at local rivals Blackburn.

Kean wants to get back into the game quickly and has contacted Trotters supremo Phil Gartside to ask to be put on their short-list of contenders to succeed the sacked Owen Coyle.

Gartside is known to be an admirer of Kean, over the way he handled the stick at Rovers during their failed survival fight last season, but the Scot is unlikely to get the gig.

The Bolton chief plans to meet three or four candidates over the next few days before deciding who to go for - with his preference for a young boss and ideally ‘a new Owen Coyle.’

Bolton have been offered out-of-work duo Mick McCarthy and Alex McLeish, but Gartside wants someone with a more fresher CV.

The trouble with that is that most of the names on his provisional hit-list including Molde coach and Manchester United hero Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Portsmouth's Michael Appleton and Dougie Freedman of Crystal Palace - are in work and may be beyond reach.

Rodgers is indeed spot on about Allen.

Not seen this mentioned anywhere else, pretty bizarre:

Not sure why it's not come up as a link, but yeah looks a pretty odd technique.
