#391748 Susie On Tour - #4 Spanish Revival
Myles clements
First off used the same manager profile as during the previous stops
Kept myself relatively quiet during the transfer windows with the only real signings being Hoedt, Kuki and possibly the best bargain I have ever signed Alejandro Gomez who chipped in with 15 league goals
Spanish Cup
Managed to get an easy draw through to the final of the Spanish Cup where I met Atletico and a surprising 3-0 win saw me claim the trophy
La Liga
Onto the big one. Decided to build my team around Cancelo, Gaya, Parejo and Nani playingh a 5 at the back allowing the two wing backs to venture forwards whilst hopefully leaving us still pretty solid at the back. By keeping goals against to a minimum I managed to remain unbeaten until early February until a shock 1-0 win against Gijon ensued worryingly this was the game before I first had to face Madrid so was fearing the worst. Well both teams decided not to bother defending with the score surprisingly finishing 6-3 in my favour. Drew quite a few games (10) but managed to keep losses way down at 2 which ensured that I kept a constant lead over Madrid who dropped way more points than I imagined and Barcelona being in relative chaos (sacking Enrique at christmas when 7th!)
Awards
Was voted Manager of the Year
Disappointed to not even have one player within the top 3 of player of the year but this possibly shows that this was all about a team effort with no real individual carrying the team
Results
Managed to beat Real Madrid both times once in the aforementioned 6-3 thriller and once with an 88th minute winner from Gomez
Remained unbeaten vs Barca but unfortunately only one win out of our two encounters

Really pleased with my first season somewhat worried about the second as I haven't managed the finances very well so may be in a little bit of bother next season particularly with the extra strain that Champions League football brings.

Cheers I'll give that a go on the next stop. Any clues where we might be heading next?

Kept things nice and simple assuming that a media prediction of 1st was a sign that I didnt need to reinvent the wheel only adding Mark Bresciano to the squad for depth. Managed to have a highly successful season;

Had the same initial problems as everybody else in that it was impossible to sell anybody for a large enough sum to bring in reinforcements/improvements so saved all of my work in the transfer market until the January window with Wendell, Kampl and Bellerabi leaving for 20m, 15m and 15m respectively. This gave me enough cash to add some steel to my midfield bringing in Sven Bender and a high quality fullback in Sime Vrsaljko (initially though I overpaid here but he proved worth every penny.

Started the season well if you discount the 4-0 drubbing against Barcelona and the careless 3 points dropped at Freiburg, was worried that this was going to be a trend with silly points being thrown away against poor opposition but team meeting directly after this seemed to provide a morale boost that inspired a 30 game unbeaten run which unfortunately came to an abrupt halt with a 4-0 slapping by RBL the game before the biggest game of the season in the champions league.
Champions League
Managed to scrape through what i thought was a relatively tough group and was rather pleased to get a 2-2 draw with Barcelona, took a 3-0 lead against PSG only to throw it away and draw 3-3 before nicking a 3-2 in Paris. The draw was not overly kind to me lining up a difficult tie versus Bayern unfortunately we were found wanting and lost 1-0 on aggregate some sollace was taken from the fact that they went on to win the competition. This was an eye opener throughout showing that much more strength in depth will be required next season if we are going to make a real push for champions league glory.
German League
We successfully managed to break the curse and brought home the league title. Had a little wobble towards the end but managed to secure a 7 point cushion to Bayern through sheer consistancy.

Januzaj was unbelievable and Defoe chipped in with a few important goals and got extremely lucky with injuries. Hoping to start the next step tonight

Firstly let me introduce you to the man charged with attempting to perform a miracle even Moyes himself couldn't achieve!
Decided to try and turn the squad around (it comical how much influence morale has) with very little reinforcements bringing in only Tonelli from Napoli who proved to be a flop playing only a minor role in the squad and only Larsson and Rodwell leaving. Unfortunately ran out of time to get a deal to sign Poli over the line
The interesting bit: RESULTS
Started surprisingly well narrowly losing to United in the first game and taking an early lead against Arsenal before adding 2 late couter attacking goals. Rested a few players in the cup game naively thinking that I would have enough to overcome a championship side which was proved very wrong with us being unceremoniously dumped out of the cup. Managed to stick an 8 match unbeaten run together including 5 straight wins over February and March pretty much guaranteeing us safety and catapulting us up the league table. Finished the season with another 4 match unbeaten run which included draws against United and Chelsea in both of these I had 6+ CCC to their 1 but still only walked away with a draw
This combined to give me a top 10 finish sneaking into 10th place in the league much much higher than I had ever envisioned was possible. Had it not been for those two games against Chelsea and United it could have been an 8th place finish
Also managed to pick up a flukey award for goal of the season with Januzaj claiming the award.
Alll in all a fantastic start to these challenges that I am very very pleased with
