This is correct, if I took Bastia out of the National the league will break due to not enough teams.

The update doesn't include changes to league structure.

Regarding promotions / relegations, for season 2017/2018 only 3 teams from the National 1 will be relegated to National 2 while 4 teams from National 2 will be promoted (as usual) to come back to 18 teams the following year.
But if not possible to change league structure for just 1 season then I understand it's difficult to simulate.
The only issue is that the current player's list of Bastia does not really allow to do a good season in National 1 (I simulated 1 season and they finished 17th although media predicted 5th - I assume due to reputation).
I guess I can only wait for FM2018 to get this sorted !!

Hello,

Some changes to be made:

French National is now called National 1 and has 17 clubs, not 18, for season 2017-2018 only. https://www.fff.fr/championnats/fff/federation-francaise-de-football/2017/341880-national/phase-1/poule-1/derniers-resultats
French CFA now called National 2.
French CFA 2 now called National 3
Sporting club de Bastia to be moved from National 1 to National 3 Group D (https://www.fff.fr/championnats/fff/federation-francaise-de-football/2017/342357-national-3/phase-1/poule-4/derniers-resultats)

Hello,
In my game Sporting club de Bastia is in French National but should be in National 3.
French leagues 3 / 4 / 5 levels should be National 1 / 2 / 3 instead of National; CFA and CFA 2.
French National 1 is has only 17 teams due to the late sanction to SC Bastia put in National 3.
Will this be updated?
