Did you check “enable licensed kits” or something like that in the menu after editing colors? Do you have another folder with kits perhaps from previous season?

If you open editor and go to kits & color section, there will be bunch of shirts for every competition. Those need to be deleted and only one to remain, not tied to any competition. If you do that with in-game editor, you won't have to start new caree...
