He was excellent today yeah.

Despite having lead in both and ending up drawing, Liverpool fans should be encouraged by the last two performances. Signs of progress for sure, just gotta kick on and build on them and not have any more results like Villa at home and Stoke away. I know they still haven't beat a team in the top half yet, which ain't really a record to be proud of, but I'm sure they'll put an end to that soon.

They should have done it against us in the week. We were shite for 60 minutes.

Meh there's promise. This year was always going to be a transition year and there's definitely been progress and if we can just keep building on it then next year looks promising. Suarez has finally added a finish to his game, Sturridge has settled in really well, Downing and Hendo have started playing really well too and we've got a lot of exciting youngsters coming in. Bring in a few quality players in the summer and next year could be good

He should ship Skrtel out and get a decent centre back to partner Agger.

Yeah, he can bring in Alan Tate after his failed summer approach.

Skrtel isn't that bad, he's concentration isn't as good though. Both him and Agger haven't been at their best this year but could be a very good long term partnership.

Daniel Agger's too good for Skrtel. He needs a better partner.

You'd better start preparing yourself for it

Nah, we'll be alright. We might drop out of the Champions League places this season but we won't fall as hard as Liverpool have.

I'd imagine an all out spending spree by Arsenal before they slip anywhere near mid table mediocrity.

Your not much better off than we are.

They have more money and a better infrastructure for making it.

Your decline had a lot to do with incompetent management and Hicks and Gillet being broke.

Arsenal don't have any of those problems.

This, basically.

This is our worst season under Wenger, yet we still find ourselves five points ahead of you. We finished 3rd and 4th in the past two seasons whilst you finished 8th and 6th. We have a better infrastructure, are more financially healthy and have better players. We're in no immediate danger of becoming a mid-table side, or experiencing the slump Liverpool have suffered from in the past two years, unless we get dramatically worse in the next few years.

Arsenal can only be a cash cow for the shareholders if they bring in Champion's League money. Mark my words, the second they fall out of the top four, they'll splash enough money into the team to get back into those places, and then they'll be overtly prudent once more.

Yeah, this is what some fans think and I've seen a few admit they wouldn't be bothered if we finished 5th this season if it forces the board to spend. I'm not too sure if I agree with that though, as losing the Champions League money might just mean the board become even more prudent and we can't attract as many good players as we had done previously.

I'm sorry, I never thought that finishing 6th and 8th was now considered a mid table finish ... Stupid me

8th is pretty much mid-table.

Unless you're going to be pedantic and say unless you finish 10th your a mid-table club?

I always imagined that finishing around 12th - 16th was mid table, then anything from 10th spot above was a top half finish. Certainly never once thought or believed that finishing 8th would be considered to be a mid table finish. Its one spot away from securing European football
Poe

It's not - you don't even get Europe for finishing 6th anymore.

8th-14th is midtable imo - anything below is relegation battle.

If you split the league in to quarters 5-15 would be the middle range, knock on two places for European football and 8th to 15th seems a pretty reasonable basis for mid table.

Yeah you're definitely not mid-table if you finish 16th.

I didn't even call them a mid-table club! King Luis said it in some sort of backwards way of demeaning City, then rossiheslopi said Arsenal would become one. Fucking hell.

Mid-table depends on the season. It's just the uninteresting bit between the quite good teams and the rubbish teams.
