Well Sam Allardyce has come out and said something similar just last night, and plenty of people have said it along the way, so even if he's wrong he's not the only one that said that.

Oh and these were quite clearly talking about him owning up to his dive

I'll put this in here for Carroll instead of dragging another thread off topic -

He said: "When someone comes and says to me something bad about being a South American, I don't cry, because that happens inside the pitch.

"I have my conscience clean. But as I have said: Manchester United controls the media, they are powerful and the media will always help them

SSN isn't the full quote but it has been discussed by Annie Eaves on Twitter if you fancy looking.

Are you seriously complaining that he admitted it? Fuck me.

So it's ok to cheat as long as you say you cheated afterwards?

That's ridiculously low standards.

I've never said it's okay to cheat, we all knew he dived back then, but are you seriously criticizing him for owning up? Fair enough he cheated, but why criticize him for owning up?

Don't you think it is time that he was punished for it?

Sure as long as you punish any other player who dived as well. Ashley Young springs to mind.

Is that supposed to be your trump card?

I, and many other United fans, are sick to the back teeth of Ashley Young's cheating.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has said Luis Suarez's admission of diving is "unacceptable" and he will be dealt with "internally" by the club.

Good.

I like the way it's his admitting of it that he finds unacceptable, not that actual diving.

But not Keane, Van Persie, Rooney, Scholes, Ronaldo, Vidic or Ferguson's cheating?

You're really stretching it with some of your definitions of cheating but yes, United players that cheat are usually pretty roundly criticsied.

I think it says something that almost every player that's come in and been a diver has improved over the course of their time at us Ronaldo, Nani and to an extent Young.

What do you suggest we do with him? Sell him? Fine him? Why don't you blame the FA for refusing to bring in harsher laws against those that have been found guilty of diving?

Keep fining him each time he does it. If the FA doesn't act then the club has the responsibility.

But if the responsibility is left with Liverpool, and if it so happens that we do keep fining him, wouldn't he grow to resent the club and we may lose a world class striker we can't simply afford to let go at the current moment? The club shouldn't bare the responsibility. I believe its the FA's problem to solve, not ours. According to Rodgers, we're going to deal with it internally, but ultimately it should be the FA's responsibility and they should discipline the player. And I don't think fining players who dive will work, the maximum fine you can give a player is two weeks (I think) and that's pocket money to players like Suarez. Banning them would be a more effective punishment.

Suarez is an idiot for admitting it. Everyone knows he does it anyway but by admitting it he's forced Rodgers hand. Everyone knows diving is frowned upon in this country, if Rodgers was asked about the interview he'd have no choice but to condemn it.

Chances are they wont do anything to punish him and it's all talk. Or maybe this is Suarez carefully planning his exit strategy.

Either way, some of the things he said are fucking ridiculous.

I don't think the FA are subject to the two week rule, I think that's just clubs.

Always wonder why he always kisses his wrist when he comes onto the pitch/scores. Guessed it was something to do with his kid.

It's common knowledge that he does it because he's got a tattoo of his daughter's name on his wrist.

That would be interesting but nah, it is more to do with a word on his wrist being an anagram of Anfield.

I love Suarez as a player for his talents but beyond that it severely detracts from his game as it causes issues with his game.
