Just a heads up, one of the new features of the forum is that you can embed media from Twitter, Spotify, Vimeo, Wikipedia, Google Maps, Amazon and a variety of other sites, in addition to the previously featured YouTube.

Old Trafford is a football stadium in Old Trafford, Greater Manchester, England, and the home of Manchester United. With a capacity of 75,765,[1] Old Trafford is the second-largest football stadium in England after Wembley, the third-largest in the United Kingdom and the eleventh-largest in Europe. The stadium is approximately 0.5 miles (0.8 km) from Old Trafford Cricket Ground and the adjacent tram station.

The ground, nicknamed the Theatre of Dreams by Bobby Charlton, has been United's permanent residence since 1910, with the exception of an eight-year absence from 1941 to 1949, following the bombing of the stadium during the Second World War. During this period, the club shared Maine Road with local rivals Manchester City. The ground underwent several expansions in the 1990s and 2000s, including the addition of extra tiers to the North, West and East Stands, which served to return the ground almost to its original capacity of 80,000. Future expansion is likely to involve the addition of a second tier to the South Stand, which would raise the capacity to over 90,000. The stadium's record attendance was recorded in 1939, when 76,962 spectators watched the FA Cup semi-final between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Grimsby Town.

The ground has frequently hosted FA Cup semi-final matches as a neutral venue and several England international fixtures while the new Wembley Stadium was under construction. It also hosted matches at the 1966 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 1996, as well as the 2003 UEFA Champions League Final. Aside from football-related uses, Old Trafford has hosted rugby league's Super League Grand Final since the league's adoption of playoffs in 1998 and the final of the 2000 Rugby League World Cup. The stadium was one of several outside Greater London to host football matches during the 2012 Summer Olympics, including women's international football for the first time in the stadium's history.

Yeah that's not going to work anytime soon. I kind of left it as it's a bigger headache than you'd imagine, after all, how often have you read EVERY post in a forum? The best I could do at the moment is "is there a post newer than the last post you read" rather than "are there any posts you've never read"

In what way does it work now? I've been working on a forum the past while and managed to figure a nice way of doing it. Also, I recommend looking at MomentJS or possibly TimeAgo for the timestamps, look nicer when it says 'Last post 5 minutes ago' imo.

Text is too large, still no facepalm smiley, and the picture and Imgur buttons seem to have been mixed up.

Complain king

In all seriousness Rob, good job on the site, credit where it's due.

Might be a dodgy browser thing then, I'm using Opera and the text is the same as on the old forum for me.

It doesn't track it at all. To be honest I can't get my head around how to do it without overhead. We know when each topic was last read and what forum each topic is in. But to do a check would mean something along the lines of:

SELECT count(*)
FROM topics
INNER JOIN topic_read ON topic_read.topic_id = topics.topic_id
INNER JOIN topic_forums ON topic_forums.topic_id = topics.topic_id
WHERE topic_read.user_id = $user_id
AND topic_read.last_read_time < topics.last_comment_time
And that would have to be done for every forum on every page load. I'm not happy with that from a performance stand point, so i've left it out for now.

As long as the correct fields are indexed then performance should not be an issue

If you're thinking about last year that was an entirely different forum.

I'm quite liking it so far other than the text color control seems to expect you to remember the HTML colour code.
Will post counts be sync'd up by the way?

Yeah it should be a dropdown I broke it and couldn't figure out why. Left it on the backburner for now.
