This file is intended for version 14.3.0 of FM14, and will need to be re-applied if/when patches/updates are released to ensure full compatibility. This is due to the fact that some files which are removed when installing this file are re-installed when patches come out.
The sortitoutsi real names fix changes the instances of fake names in Football Manager 14 to the proper, real life names for awards, cities, stadiums and competitions, in cases where the actual name is not licensed. It will also fix the fact that the German National team doesn't call up real players. These are fully save-game compatible.
There is also a club name changes file, which changes the names of clubs in a way which ensures that any nicknames entered in the default database are retained. This file includes the proper names for Italian and French clubs to circumvent licensing restrictions. It also adds real-life media and journalists, with 23 media files added to encompass all major footballing nations and continents. It also includes a small file to correct some incorrect national kit colours and ones whose kits were not displaying. Finally, it includes a small file which corrects the 3-Letter competition names to correspond with any changes made in the lnc files. For all these files to work, however, you will need to start a new game.
Magrippinho very helpfully created a YouTube video on how this file should be installed. Some of the contents are different - but the procedure is identical, although of course you use the equivalent folder for FM14.
Or, you can follow the below instructions to install this file:
Step 1: Go to
PC
Step 2: Delete the dbc, edt and lnc folders from the folder above
Step 3: Copy the dbc, edt and lnc folder from this download into the folder mentioned in step 1.
Step 4: Go to:
Step 6: Keeping the folder in step 5 open, go back to the file you downloaded and open the folder named "editor data files".
Step 7: Copy everything from the folder in step 6 into the folder mentioned in step 5.
To check if the file is working, go to the Champions Cup and EURO Vase, and they should be renamed to Champions League and Europa League respectively. If you are in the middle of a save-game, German national teams will be populated in the next instance that players are called up, and not instantly.

One question : how do you make this file whithout the fm14 editor ?
Robin&
mons
I used the FM13 editor - the files still work
You can change this yourself. Open the City, Club and Stadium Names.lnc file and insert the following line therein
with xx being the club's UID.

I've also noticed that awards pertaining to the Italian Serie B, some Portuguese competitions and Scottish Championship to League Two were also using old sponsors and they have been changed accordingly. I don't believe any further changes are needed in that file, but I'm open to suggestions if necessary

Is there any way to change 'The Netherlands' back to 'Holland'?
mons
Yes, just open the Competitions and other fixes.lnc and delete the respective line. Should do the trick.

Because the name that you modified appears in english in us french version an example Northern Ireland is modified by your file but in french we say "Irlande du Nord"

I see. This is the list of country names which is modified by this file:
It is possible to specify which language any such changes refer to. In the next version of the file, it should be possible for me to configure it so that these changes will only take effect in English, with the default database entry remaining for other languages. If you, or anybody else, thinks that these should be changed, then feel free to post in here and I'll change them accordingly.
Of these 4, the French clubs' name are changed using the editor data file. There's nothing wrong with the other 2 imo, but you are of course free to change them with the editor once it's out (or with the FM13 editor if you want to). Remember, changes will only take effect when you start a new game...

There is an installation video in the topic header, watch it carefully and follow the relatively simple instructions and you should sort it out quite comfortably.

For me, I have french name and english name. It's not nice and it's the same for the competition and all modifications from the file
But, good job for all thanks
mons
a) Nation names will be displayed in their original language from the next version onwards.
b) If you want to put forward possible suggestions for the amendment of competition names (or anything else, really), then please do so here and I'll change it in time for the next release.

Could you please upload a screenshot of the location(s?) where you placed the files you've downloaded?
You've somehow completely messed up the installation somehow, but I'm at a loss as to what's gone wrong...

This is so frustrating because I've downloaded 7-ZIP and it's still doing this. I'm a pain in the arse I know but if anyone can provide me with how to rectify this, I'd be much appreciated!!
Cheers
