This file is intended for version 14.3.0 of FM14, and will need to be re-applied if/when patches/updates are released to ensure full compatibility. This is due to the fact that some files which are removed when installing this file are re-installed when patches come out.
The sortitoutsi real names fix changes the instances of fake names in Football Manager 14 to the proper, real life names for awards, cities, stadiums and competitions, in cases where the actual name is not licensed. It will also fix the fact that the German National team doesn't call up real players. These are fully save-game compatible.
There is also a club name changes file, which changes the names of clubs in a way which ensures that any nicknames entered in the default database are retained. This file includes the proper names for Italian and French clubs to circumvent licensing restrictions. It also adds real-life media and journalists, with 23 media files added to encompass all major footballing nations and continents. It also includes a small file to correct some incorrect national kit colours and ones whose kits were not displaying. Finally, it includes a small file which corrects the 3-Letter competition names to correspond with any changes made in the lnc files. For all these files to work, however, you will need to start a new game.
Magrippinho very helpfully created a YouTube video on how this file should be installed. Some of the contents are different - but the procedure is identical, although of course you use the equivalent folder for FM14.
Or, you can follow the below instructions to install this file:
Step 1: Go to
PC
Step 2: Delete the dbc, edt and lnc folders from the folder above
Step 3: Copy the dbc, edt and lnc folder from this download into the folder mentioned in step 1.
Step 4: Go to:
Step 6: Keeping the folder in step 5 open, go back to the file you downloaded and open the folder named "editor data files".
Step 7: Copy everything from the folder in step 6 into the folder mentioned in step 5.
To check if the file is working, go to the Champions Cup and EURO Vase, and they should be renamed to Champions League and Europa League respectively. If you are in the middle of a save-game, German national teams will be populated in the next instance that players are called up, and not instantly.

Would it be possible to prefix all the files with "Susie Real Name Fix" or something? When I add another file myself or maybe a couple and then want to remove them again, it becomes really confusing which ones are the real name fix and which aren't.

And now the game won`t start, just getting a error message saying that it cant find any database.
Is it because I deleted the FM-folder and the FMC-folder? If so, how do I fix it without needing to re-install the game?
Thanks.
PS: My first post, it only took 7 years

Delete the file named "Competitions and other fixes.Inc" in the Inc folder.
Probably you don't like it because all names are changed to english, right?
You can open that file, search for entries that you want to edit, change it in your language and communicate (with copy and paste, like in cachirro post, 2 space above this) to Mons. So he can insert the appropriate version for your language.
No. You can verify the cache of game files. Right click on the game in Steam library->Properties->Local Files tab-> Verify integrity of game cache.
Sorry if aren't the exact terms in english. I have Steam in italian.

Unless something really major crops up, I don't intend to release a new version of this file any time soon.
I'm a bit loath to do it now that the file is out already as it would definitely confuse some of the lesser technically-minded users when future updates are released. I'll definitely add something of the sort in the FM15 filenames though.
Why would you download this file if you're not going to use its primary feature?
It's the Competitions and other Fixes.lnc file. It also contains the fix to enable the German and Japanese national teams, fyi.
I've incorporated these changes into 1.1. As in previous years, the Portuguese club name changes are in there already but they can't be changed due to licensing restrictions.
You need to verify the integrity of your game cache. This can be done in this way:
- Load Steam
- From the Library section, right-click on the game and select Properties from the menu.
- Select the Local files tab and click the 'VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAMECACHE...' button.
- Steam will verify the game's files - this process may take several minutes.
- Once the process is completed, the Check Window will automatically exit.
- We recommend verifying your cache twice to make sure all files are fully downloaded

I have some corrections for names in Serbia.
- Serbian Cup is now just Kup Srbije, it's not Lav Kup Srbije anymore.
- Jelen SuperLiga is Jelen Super Liga.
- Prva Liga Srbija is Prva Liga Srbije.
Cheers.

What do I do?
P.s: already managed to solve. need not be answered.
Thanks people!

you must have deleted FM and FMC folders inside the DB, use the tip provided earlier to verify the files, and they will be downloaded, then reapply correctly the patch.

dbc filles can be opened with Editor.
cachirro
i've tried that, but where do i see the info inside just the dbc file, i've tried to load a file, but then don't know where to see the info loaded.
Siegfried.m
See in the top right corner of the editor if there is the name of the mod. If yes, you simply have to use the editor normally. There isn't a special section for edited things.
If my memory works fine, I remember FM 12/13 editor had a list of edited things, but this year there isn't.
cachirro
in awards you used to have all languages of same item together, but now you added and italian part in a separate zone. It's hard to maintain the file this way, you should use the same method for all languages.
the best being each language having a separate zone, it's better for the helpers, and better for the users, they can just remove a part if they want to.
cachirro
without having the changes listed or highlighted, it's pretty hard to know what's what. but thanks for your info.

This is due to the fact that the list of Italian awards was sent to me in the morning and I made an oversight and forgot to include it. Once siegfried.m pointed this out, I quickly copied and pasted it and uploaded the file again. Ideally, I'd have sorted them in the usual manner, but it was 1am and I wanted to go to bed, and it really doesn't make a lot of difference at the end of the day. When I have time before the next update, I'll make sure they are sorted in the usual way.
Regarding the sorting of the file, I disagree. It's much better to have each competition changes in the same place, including different languages, otherwise I would never be able to tell what's been done and what's not. If users or helpers want to find stuff in a different language, they can just use the find function within notepad to search for it and amend or delete it accordingly.
If you, or any other users, are making changes to their lnc file, they're more than welcome to post them in here so that they are included in the next versions and this whole problem is therefore solved
It really is quite easy to see what's been edited. Just look in the file details within the editor to see what categories have had changes and then filter them to include only those with at least 1 change. Once these are listed, you can check in the changes tab to see which changes have been effected.
For the Club Name Changes dbc file, pretty much all the changes therein are included in the Club Name Changes.lnc file for the sake of easy reference, albeit as disabled due to the # in front of them.
Some of the teams in widehawk's file were in FM13 but not in FM14, so I removed them. You can remove the zzz JPN names file if you want to.
Thanks for these - I've amended them accordingly, but as per the previous section, they're only a cosmetic error and does not affect anything since club name changes are made via the dbc file.

For a start, changes in a dbc file take precedence over any changes made in an lnc file.
Secondly, the entries in the club names lnc file are preced by a #, which disables them from being used by the game. They're only there (a) as remnants of the previous system (in which lnc changes did not automatically remove nicknames) and (b) for the sake of easy reference and for people who want to add individual changes to their save-game...

Thanks mate
about dbc and lnc club names, i usually remove all # from the lnc file, should i delete the dbc file then? are they copies, or the dbc has more info?
thanks
