Loan with an option to buy it seems. It'll be interesting to see how he gets on, Fiorentina have a good record of reviving flagging careers over the last couple of seasons.

Silly deal on our part, no way we'll actually get rid of him if they actually see him play.

Wilfred Zaha stormed out of a meeting with Manchester United officials on Thursday following a "furious shouting match" after being told the club had changed their minds about allowing him to leave on loan this month, Goal can reveal.

Zaha and his advisor were stunned to hear that United manager David Moyes had vetoed a potential loan move for the winger amid interest from a number of Premier League sides including Newcastle, Cardiff and West Brom.

Sources have told Goal that the meeting at United’s Carrington training ground developed into a heated exchange between Zaha and club officials, before the winger stormed out.

The 21-year-old left the meeting fuming after begging for the opportunity to leave until the end of the season as he looks for regular first-team football.

But the Scot has changed his mind, with the prognosis for Ashley Young’s return from a shoulder injury uncertain and Nani struggling with a hamstring problem.

May explain why they've backtracked on the idea of sending him out on loan.

In saying that if he isn't going to use him at Old Trafford he should let him go out on loan.

If I was to take a shot in the dark, I'd say he isn't good enough to contribute at the minute.

So we're halfway through January, and whilst Anderson leaving is a plus, our squad has essentially just been made even lighter in midfield. The way the papers were talking, you'd have thought we'd have Fabio Coentrao in a United shirt by 9am on January 1st.

I just don't understand why Moyes will barely give Zaha any chance at all, but still won't let him leave on loan. It seems like if he isn't good enough at the moment and he has little to no chance of playing, he might as well go to another Premier League side and gain some experience.

Maybe he did fuck Moyes' daughter.

Injuries to Nani and Young, you'd assume.

Really interesting article from the Guardian today.

Basically, deal was done through a third party because at no point did Woodward want to sit down with Chelsea and have a dialogue because we are not going to sell them Rooney and did not want that to sour relations when we were attempting to buy Mata.

The deal was done because Mata 'acted professionally' in his conduct when not playing and then specifically asked Abramovich to alter their agreement so that we could activate a clause that allowed him to leave if he wasn't playing.

Assuming its all true, we've got to give Woodward a lot of credit for this deal.

Or because Woodward would have just fucked the whole deal up and can't be trusted? The Rooney part of it is irrelevant too imo, Chelsea have already made it quite clear that financial reasons were a big part of this transfer and Utd were more than happy to pay the top price for him. Chelsea's days of spending massively over what they can afford are gone and they could not keep an unhappy and very costly player like Mata sitting on the bench doing nothing.

Why is a 25-year old girl looking to have a date with an 18-year old boy?

Hah, how dare he act like a completely normal 18-year-old!

Why is a 25-year old girl looking to have a date with an 18-year old boy?

Wealth and fame, obviously. It's absolutely hilarious that she expected anything different than what she got.

I'm actually quite impressed that Adnan seems to have his feet so firmly planted in the ground in spite of his recent success. If I made as much as he does when I was 18 I would have been an insufferable show-off.

Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City have agreed to take part in a major pre-season tournament in the US that will also feature Real Madrid, Milan and Internazionale.

The 2014 International Champions Cup will be played in 12 different cities but provides the possibility of the three English clubs meeting when the semi-finals and final are held at the Sun Life Stadium in Miami.

As Roma and Olympiakos have also been confirmed to take part in the eight-team event, revealed by World Soccer Talk, with an official announcement expected on Tuesday to confirm the dates.

The provisional schedule initially pits United against Roma in Denver, whereas Liverpool will face Olympiakos in Chicago, both on 26 July, before City play Milan in Pittsburgh the following day.

United have been pencilled in to face Inter in Washington on 29 July, whereas Liverpool would play Milan in Philadelphia the following day, and City would meet Olympiakos in New York.

Chelsea and Everton took part in last year's event and this summer's event will also see matches in Dallas, Phoenix, Charlotte, Ann Arbor and Hartford.

Well, they wont be at the world cup on the 26th. But those who got to the later stages will probably need a rest.

Yeah they usually get a couple of weeks or so extra rest so i'd be surprised if many of the big names play much. Though i'd imagine all the English players will be there from pretty much the start after just three games at the world cup.
