Gael Clichy is a bigger liability than Demichelis. Demichelis didn't put a foot wrong, played brilliantly until he kinda had to get sent off (in his mind it was only going to be a free kick, debatable really), whereas Clichy let his man go constantly and couldn't be arsed tracking back.

Was confident that 1-0 was a good result (essentially the same as 1-1 going into the away leg), but am still confident going into the away leg as long as Aguero is back.

Dzeko played well as well, was better at holding up the ball than the Beast

Fernandinho's a beast generally. He's been our best central midfielder this season.

Tonight was even more impressive since he's been out injured recently.

Nah, I'm not having that, he's had his bad games this season but he was good today. The only times I can remember him not tracking back were when Kolarov was already in the left-back position or right at the end of the game when he looked dead on his feet.

He made a nuisance of himself in a good way. His touch let him down a few times though.

Nah thought Clichy was muck tonight, especially after we went down to 10 men. Once the ball was played past him he always just gave up

Nobody saying that it was not a penalty? It was a foul and deserved red card, but not a penalty. Reason: contact was outside penalty area, thus, according to the rulebook, not a penalty!

Arsenal gave Red Action the go ahead for a card display last week before the game tonight, should (hopefully) look pretty good. Plan is to also use them during the game if we score etc, not just at the start.

You're talking shite, Slash. He wasn't very good in the last 10/15 minutes but that was because he was clearly exhausted from running all over the place for 70 odd minutes.

Am I the only one who thought Joe Hart could have done better for Alves' goal?

Looked to me that if he had stayed on his line and on his feet he would have had a much better chance of making the save.

Yeah, Hart was poor imo.

No one seems to mentioning that Kompany was 5 yards behind the rest of the defence and playing Messi onside for the first goal.
