Norwich's last 4 games are horrific, they really did have to win that West Brom game, but I agree I think they'll stay up by a point or two.

The FA have rejected Hull's attempt to change to Tigers. That vote was pointless then

Vote was always pointless. Was just gonna be "evidence" that the supporters wanted the change. FA was never really gonna consider deciding according to it.

I agree with Steve Bruce about the whole situation:

It might not suit everybody and I can understand those traditionalists but for the amount of money he has put in if he asks us to play in pink and white stripes on Saturday we have to do it because without him there wouldn't be either a Hull City or a Hull Tigers.

Instead the club would be someone like Portsmouth where you are struggling to survive,.

Cardiff City taking disciplinary action over team 'leak'

Cardiff City are taking disciplinary action against two employees over an alleged leak of team details.
The Bluebirds say Crystal Palace knew their line-up 24 hours before kick-off, and chairman Mehmet Dalman has informed the Premier League about the claims.

The disciplinary action does not involve players, but the club considers the leak to be a "sackable offence".
Cardiff have not yet made a formal complaint, but are gathering evidence to present to the Premier League.
Given no official complaint has been made by the Bluebirds, no proper investigation is currently taking place.
Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish declined to comment on the grounds that he did not want to give the accusations "oxygen".
Cardiff manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer declined to comment on the allegation at the club's weekly media conference, but categorically denied suggestions that a player had been involved.

Club captain Steven Caulker said he was "frustrated" because the row could be a distraction from the fight to avoid relegation.
"To be honest, there's been things like that all season where certain things have been leaked," Caulker said.
However, the centre-back later clarified that he was referring to "leaks" about matters other than team selection.
"For me it's frustrating because we need to focus on what's going on on the pitch and not what's happening off the pitch," Caulker added.
Cardiff face Southampton at St Mary's in the Premier League on Saturday in the first of their five remaining Premier League games.

Fulham v Norwich is huge today, the loser will be in big trouble. (Norwich would still have 2 points on Fulham but their remaining fixtures are horrible).

Fancying Everton to go 2 points clear of Arsenal too with a win at Sunderland, maybe 1-0 or 2-1.

I thought we'd get hammered again but that insipid performance was as bad as the humiliation at Southampton a few weeks back.

Pardew blaming the local media, the wind and the referee is yet more deflecting from the central issue that his team selection, tactics and performances since the reverse fixture have been (barring one or two exceptions) fucking useless.

Yes. We've lost more games by 3 or more goals than we've actually won in 2014.

Wow, Cardiff win at Southampton. Didn't see that one coming!

Also, good to see Kane scoring again, but bad to see that Rose is still playing. We have got some incredibly useless players!

In fairness, Newcastle are 2 points away from Southampton, who have had an amazing season. Had they won today against Stoke City (and they were a sitter and penalty away in a shockingly dull game from doing so), they'd be ahead of them.

While this is true, the fact is also that we were 6th after beating Stoke on Boxing Day and had a legitimate shot at, if not quite a top 4 challenge than at least holding our own for a high finish. Barring one or two exceptions, the performances since have been painful and I daresay four months of frequently poor football has finally drained the optimism away.

I accept top 10 is preferable to last season, when it took us 37 games to make sure we were even able to stay in the league. But its been astonishing how flat 2014 has been so far - the only two genuinely impressive performances were at West Ham (Cabaye left within 10 days) and Hull (tainted by that stupid head-nudge). Pardew's ridiculous truth-bending doesn't help our mood with him.

Still, the relegation battle does make for compelling viewing. Sunderland look to have used up all their lifelines, but elsewhere, its anyone's guess. Be quite something if Norwich, Cardiff and Fulham all survive.

'Being ahead of Southampton' isn't the sign of a good season - we've been absolutely shocking since about December.

Without Cabaye and Remy I dread to think where we'd be.

This would involve logic though.

Sunday Sun can fuck off though. Fact the local media are giving space to Sheppard show that they don't give a single fuck about Newcastle, or the 'local community'. But who could possible predict a bunch of white, male, middle-class, middle-age journalists would have a persecution complex?

Pards is also sorry, for finishing higher than most pre-season predictions. Pards is also sorry for keeping Newcastle out of the relegation scrap that a lot of pundits predicted.

The problem is you have to change expectations as you go along, and a long bad streak when you've surpassed your minimum expectation can yield trouble. Look at West Brom - they were 4th in November last season with a team built around a loan striker (Lukaku), then coasted to the end, and never really got out of that coasting spiral. This streak of poor performances is not conductive to a good mood.

The relentless streak of excuses Pardew comes up with to justify defeats is also not helpful. Yes, Stoke had a lucky wind-assisted goal and yes, we should've had a penalty, but he never accepts the premise his team have played poor, or that he picked the wrong team/tactics/both. At some point, you just stop believing everything he says

But like it matters. I don't imagine him leaving the club anytime soon.
