Defeats in our next two games and the dream ended. And with that I call time on my time with the US of A.
Very much an up and down career marked by inconsistency and Landon Donovan.
Where to next? Back to the MLS. I'm not ready to walk away from America just yet, I fancy another MLS title and then I'll begin to look at Mexico / South America. Maybe even Scandinavia, I like the idea of following the path laid out by American players and managers in real life.
Sheriff Skacel
Time to finish what I started with DC. Why am I back? Well lets just look at the clubs DPs;
The Mexican RB and Vaughn excite me a lot, I definitely think I can get the best from them. Hoilett however could prove more troublesome, but I'm gonna try to forge a strike partnership between he and Vaughn.
So, who is left from my first stint with the club? Well, we have Johnson in goal still, Heath Pearce is here still and Chris Pontius is about. Its a long shot but we can still make the playoffs this year 10 games to go, lets win 8.

In my time away from the adoring Susie public I have tactically refined myself as promised, stints with Lyon and in the Belorussian second division have finally delivered a tactic I am pleased with. What started as a 4321 with Lyon to take advantage of Gourcuff and Grenier has evolved into a very stable 4312, I'm happy enough with the tactic and in my mind its only weakness is the inconsistency of the STCR role, but we will fix that over time.
So yes, at DC, I signed some boys, sorted some scouts and lost some games. Few games left in season, will update yous with signings in the next seven minutes.
Sheriff Skacel
Didn't have to give up too much for my boys, have 1.8m in allocation funds so plenty to play with.
Had him from my time as US manager so we all know what he can do, my go to goal guy.
Stability at the back, another on my radar from my time as US manager.
Good cover for DC and MC.
Just a backup RB, nothing more nor less.
Sheriff Skacel
Disappointing but ultimately I think I came in too late to really have an impact on the club. Far from happy with the makeup of the squad, hate the fact we have Hoilett, and Pontius still gets my goat. Gonna map the squad out and see what to change, but I definitely want shot of them two.
I think my mid-season signings did really well, especially Bowes who got 7 in 7, just need to add to the squad and build something a little more balanced. Finished 13th overall so I'll have a half decent draft pick, again its a case of if its a strong draft class I'll look to add to my picks and get some real talented youngsters in.
Although tbh the draft seems to do nothing for MLS, I've looked over the past few drafts and next to no players do anything. Hell, from the 2015 draft five of the top six picks have now retired. Needs sorting for FM2015, SI really struggle to capture what the draft is all about and all the wheeling and dealing that goes on involving draft picks.
Sheriff Skacel
- Backup defender (probably get him through the draft)
- 3 MCs (two signings, one draft)
- Backup AMC
- Two STs
Already starting to move some players in the squad, no bids for Hoilett as of yet however.

And as if by magic we have ourselves a half decent draft class. In the first round I have the sixth pick, I definitely want one or two more first round picks so gonna go shopping.
Sheriff Skacel
By the time it came to my first draft pick (6th overall) I was deadset on taking an MC, but when I checked who was available I saw that the lad who I thought would go first overall was still available, so I ended up taking him. He's a tidy striker who picked up a hip injury before the draft and is out for 3 month, for that reason no one took him. But I think he's worth the risk. Will post screenies soon enough.

1. So everyone can get used to my tactics
B) So everyone can get used to each other
Really happy with the squad now, we have youth (only four guys are over 24), options all over the pitch and great depth. Just need to let things settle down a bit now and build towards the start of the season. Providing we don't get any pre-season injuries I don't think I'll be making any new signings from now on.
Sheriff Skacel
Good backup striker with a physical presence, cost me 75k.
Starting AMC, one of the few American players who can actually pass the ball, cost 150k cos his deal was coming up in a months time. I took the risk, signed him and he accepted a new contract with me. Bargain.
Taken in the waiver draft as a good option from the bench at AMC, ST and potentially MC.
Defensive depth from the waiver draft.

Real happy with these 4 guys, good mix of squad depth and starting talent. Their signings set me up lovely for the SuperDraft.
Sheriff Skacel
Took him at number six, I'm 100% sure he'd have went 1st overall if it weren't for the injury he got just before the draft (JOEL EMBIID). I'm more than happy to take the risk of him and slowly work him into the first team and back to full fitness.
Drafted at number seven, I fell in love with his physical and mental stats, especially the mental stats. I think he could be a great box to box midfielder in this league.
My final SuperDraft pick, in my view he's a toned down Arredondo, nice mental and physical stats. Probably my weakest MC but that's fine, all I wanted at this point was a half decent MC who could do a job when called upon.

Good defensive cover across the whole backline.
A physical beast, like an old school English CB.
The only guy I took on potential, he's 22 so unlikely to ever get anywhere near his potential, but I thought I'd take the chance. Will probably be forever out on loan.
Sheriff Skacel
Not a bad way to return from injury and make your professional debut. The teams above me in the draft will regret overlooking him.
