Two more signings for us.

We signed Chris Hussey from Burton, who was already on loan with us but went back to Burton for the play-offs, and Shwan Jalal, former England C and Bournemouth. Both are good signings for this level in my opinion, Hussey excelled for us at LB and Jalal is an expereinced keeper who knows what promotion feels like.

With these signings being made, our team looks a little something like this right now:

Nardiello - Lowe

Mayor - Adams - New CM/Soares - Jones

Hussey - McNulty - Mills - Jones/new RB

Jalal

This is a team which gets me quite excited for next season already

The way you finished last season and the deals you've made already makes me shit scared of you lot. Fuck off.

We got took over by Hafiz Mammadov, all I know about him is he's from Azerbaijan, he's got some money, he owns FC Baku and RC Lens and he's the man behind the "Azerbaijan land of fire" sponsor.

So next year we'll either have an influx of Azerbaijan players, loans from Lens or hopefully he'll chuck some money at us and get us competing again, finally something to look forward to at SWFC

He also has a lovely moustache

It should be, but as of now it isn't, like Watford and Cardiffs chariman. They clamped down on loans between 2 teams from different countries with the same owner, but are still allowing ownership of multiple teams.

Ahh I see, I remember hearing about Watford's chairman and thought that he wasn't allowed to own two clubs but had gotten around it by putting his sons in charge of Udinese or whatever. I'm not sure. But you're probably right and surely that's a conflict of interests somewhere along the lines?

Bournemouth at home first up, followed by Cardiff and Reading away. Quite fancy us to get 6 points out of those, actually.

We've also signed Joe Murphy on a free from Coventry as backup to Alex Smithies. Good reserve goalkeeper to have at this level.

So Leeds have sacked a guy that won promotion with Reading (even if he wasn't great for them) and appointed a man who got fired by Forest Green Rovers last October.

This is not gonna end well...

Hockaday's appointment is really beyond pisstaking. Does he have the reciepe for the veggie burgers from FGR or what's Cellino's reasoning behind this? Weird. Weird, weird, weird...

Meanwhile, One Direction's Louis Tomlinson has bought Doncaster Rovers.

I remember got an entire cheer from Villa Park when footage of him being taken out by Agbonlahor was replayed on screens before the Villa-Newcastle game last year. But I suppose if he likes the club and has the money for it, it might work... well until the One Direction cash cow runs dry.

Hockaday will just be a front, Cellino will pick the team and formation, Hockaday will just be his yes man. It's gonna be great!

My theory was that Hockaday was literally willing to work for free.

Vercoe - we've had a second bid rejected for Hourihane. What's he like? Your local rag 'understands' we won't be going back in with another offer, but I think we will.

Also, we've signed Adam Davies and Kane Hemmings. Brian Howard and Gary Harkins rumoured to be signing too. Quite excited about Hemmings. Won the Championship Player of the Year, albeit in Scotland, but looks like he has pace and an eye for goal. Exactly what we need.

He's an extremely good midfielder who is probably too good for league two and getting better all the time. I'd be surprised if we kept hold of him seeing as how his contract's up at the end of the season. He's one of those players that a lot of our fans bemoan because he "only passes sideways" or what have you but he's had to play the holding role more often that not of late but this season could be the making of him. If I were you lot I'd get him signed this summer because if he (and hopefully the whole squad) has as good a season this year as I can see him having then there'll be plenty of other teams after him.

A very good passer of the ball and his work ethic is brilliant too, gives his all every game (though sometimes appears anonymous but that may have just been because he's been having to cover more than one position due to crap players last year).

Can see him being top end league one and probably lower end to mid-table Championship in the future. He's only young and developing all the time.

Any rumoured fees from your end? We haven't heard much bar some "below expectations" bids.

Sound like exactly what we need. Although, we've not got any players so we need everything, at the minute.

A derisory initial offer of £20,000 has been mentioned on our forum. No idea about the second offer - probably £21,000 knowing what we're like.

Oh that's cheeky to say the least, he's worth double that to the club and then some imo.

We've signed Keil O'Brien, a 21-year-old Centre Back from Conference North side Chorley on a two-year deal. According to Chorley fans, he was great for them and should go on to much better things but other than that I haven't heard of him yet. But it's good to see Flickers going down to non-league level to find possible young hidden gems. Really good to see

Hockaday is the least paid manager in the Championship now, think he gets about £160k a year, McDermott was on 600k a year, there saving a lot of money with Hockaday.

Yeah I'm with you on the AFC Wimbledon thing, its petty and pointless

I think this has probably come from the Daily Mirror. They reported that we'd had a bid of £200k accepted, despite reports that we'd had a second bid rejected on that same day.

Someone on our forums seems to think the second bid was actually more like £80k, which seems like less of a massive leap in prices.

Town have re-signed Lee Peltier on a free transfer after he mutually terminated his contract at Leeds. From our point of view, cracking signing as he covers right-back, centre-back and even midfield, areas we were light after letting Peter Clarke and Calum Woods go. From the Leeds point of view, I suspect he'll be the first of quite a lot of departures.

Rumours of Anthony Pilkington returning are, sadly, pie in the sky.
