For example, I have never had a girlfriend. Well I kind of had a girlfriend when I was 14, but I just fingerbanged her for two months and then stopped calling her because she wouldn't let me fuck her. So that doesn't really count.
But the hero of our tale is going to embark on a relationship and I have a few interesting scenarios lined up for him to get involved with.
I haven't done much re-reading, but I know I'm going to need to do extensive editing in December/January.

I had lunch today so aside from some brief wording this morning I'm sitting at 14,000. I want to do 6,000 by the end of play today.
I'm working through a scene now which should open up the rest of the book.
Also, for anyone who's interested, give me your email address. I've just synced up Microsoft Word with google drive so I can add people who would like to view it, instead of having to repost the link each time.

You find similarities between yourself and the character because many of the things he feels, says and does are things that many people experience. Almost every single person on this planet will have felt like they were an embarrassment or burden to their parents at some point, for instance.

This is all true. But particularly the attitude towards women and other people around him as well as feeling distant from reality are all ringing quite true for me.
Also I pm'ed you fanny

To be honest, mine is bollocks. Really tempted to scrap it and start again. I can get 50,000 done in 25 days....

Yeah, it sucks when you run into one of those.

Don't think, just write. You've done 5,000 odd so far. Just keep going. You don't need to enjoy what's going down, it's about getting it down in the first place. Set aside a couple of hours where you just sit down and write. You don't have to write, but the only thing you're allowed to do is write.
Based on a woman of similar height who stood in front of my cock for twenty minutes on a crowded tube. It was tremendously awkward.

Zero. I woke up at half five this mornng, did some reading and then decided to go for a walk at half nine. Ended up going for lunch and viewing the Black Collection at the Saatchi Gallery. You know, because I have a vagina.
I'm going to do at least 2,500 by the end of tonight, it's not great but I'm still on track.

I've had an idea in my head for a year, but not in this form. Originally I was going to write a story where the main character sits at night and reflects on what he's done. That's based on the very real thing I have when I try to sleep at night; all the bad shit I've done in my life decides that the most opportune moment to spring back into my consciousness is right when I'm trying to sleep.
Since then I've been telling people for months, "Oh yeah, I'm a writer, blah blah blah". Literally talking the biggest amount of bollocks to girls, trying to get pussy under the pretence of being a creative.
I've actually sat down and started writing, properly and discovered that a) It's as much fun as I pretended it was and b) I have a penchant for the need to be productive consistently (not in quality, but in quantity).
I don't know, I always thought it was bullshit, finding out you could work and have fun. A myth people chase because it makes them sleep better at night. I've been a model train driver, an office junior, an estate agent, a venture capitalist, a PR rep in Malia, a bar tender, a journalist and a meat vendor. I know what I want to do for the rest of my life, even if I end up broke and giving out hand shandies to politicians on Parliament Square.

Well i'm glad you actually started writing if you enjoy it this much, I think this could be published, albeit this is a teenager who's sitting GCSE's opinion. But I kinda get the writing style as i've used something similar for one of my pieces and I could use this as inspiration in the future for any assessments I have to do. I know for a fact it has a solid foundation so far, and the personal side to it makes the whole experience that much more rewarding. Good luck and I will definatly want to read on.

I enjoyed it. You might want to refine it a bit but don't cut it out altogether.

The current title is better, in my opinion. You might want a more, ahem, 'politically correct' title if you want it to reach a wider audience. Diary Of A Functioning Retard is better than Emotional Retard though.
Franck
Let your publisher worry about the title when the time comes. Just focus on finishing the book.
