They were off form before the World Cup.

And I'm not actually convinced they were that good at the World Cup. Think Muller and Schurrle pulled them through mostly average performances. And demolishing Portugal and Brazil, who were in meltdown.

None of the big teams were particularly good, and Germany were definitely the best of the bunch.
