Anyone else watching the Remembrance Day thing? When they read that letter that soldier had written to his parents in case he should die I had a little tear up.

Yeah, It's very moving.
We just had the village scout's band march past the window for their memorial parade. It frightened the life out of the kitten.

The last veteran from the first world war who actually served in the trenches died a couple of years ago. Not sure if there is anyone who served in that war in any capacity that is still alive now.

Just back from the Legion after the remembrance parade, one of my Dads old army mates was talking about when he was in Afghan, he was one of the first Brits to be blown up out there and got blown up again a week later. No injuries to him at all, was amazing how he talked so normally about it

I know lots of people in Afghanistan, my next-door neighbour is an engineer. Not sure if they would trust him with a gun though.

Trying to find my own place to move into, I really don't want to rent as I find it a waste of money seeing as I could be paying that towards owning my own place rather than paying off someone elses mortgage. Looking at the first time buyer stuff and I'm giving up

You're about the same age as me I think, I've got a mortgage, it's doable, especially in the north-west.
