Liverpool will beat us on Sunday, and their fans will incessantly bring it up in an effort to explain that their season really wasn't all that bad.

LOL you say this right after I minimise from FM13, him scoring two goals and setting up Commons.

Yeah, they're looking good at the moment. I really like Everton but they're looking quite dangerous at the moment. Hopefully they'll get a few injuries and they'll fall away a bit but they always seem to end the season well - could be a real threat. The gap between ourselves and the top three is already looking somewhat insurmountable so it'll probably end up as a fight for fourth between ourselves, Spurs, Everton and maybe Newcastle. Not feeling too confident right now if I'm honest.

What's incredibly frustrating is that we've got the best defensive record in the league, but are just lacking the goals. If we'd grown a backbone and not sold van Persie we could well be up there right now. If you win the league this season we've practically gifted it to you. Quite painful, really.

I would never pay someone £24m to give me a gift.

You know what I mean. That £24m wasn't reinvested in the squad and will most likely lay dormant in the club coffers. It was a gift in a sense that we sold one of our greatest rivals our best player and our captain, and arguably the best out-and-out striker in the world. If van Persie's goals win you the Premier League this season than we've indirectly handed it to you - that's what really stings.

You spent the money before you got it because Wenger knew he was leaving.

Possibly, but you can't prove that. I genuinely believe Wenger thought he would stay and bought Cazorla/ Podolski/ Giroud as teammates as opposed to replacements. No one can say for sure though.

Wenger said they were bought as replacements.

As ive said a million times there is absolutely no point in forcing a player to stay, no matter who he is. I'm one of very few people that don't even 'hate' him for leaving.

Kacaniklic- he joined the Liverpool academy at the age of 16.
Damn, we had some real talents :/

Arsenal really could do with a win here. HT will be brutal in the dressing room.

Didn't deserve the lead, spells trouble for next weekend if we don't step up in the 2nd half.

The defence is being torn to shreds, is Steve Bould actually any good as a defensive coach?

I think the issue is whether or not Wenger is giving him enough freedom to properly work with them and implement his ideas. I'm not sure that he is.

See this is the problem, people think that because Bould is now the assistant we should instantly be great at defending. Well anyone that has watched us for the passed 4 years or so will know that is won't be fixed in a few weeks. And defending starts from the front, its easy to blame it on the defenders, but there is a lot more that goes into conceding a goal than simply the final couple of seconds. We give the ball away everywhere and at any time of a match, at 2-0 we should simply be playing simple possession football and doing everything we can not to concede for 15 or so mins. But instead we're still all over the place making un-needed runs forward and once we as usual give the ball away, our players are so far out of position that its easy to counter us. 6 fucking minutes we managed to keep it at 2-0 ffs.
