Managerial Stats 2015 + Pre Season Expectations
Well, what I thought was a near impossible task, saving FC Liefering from relegation last season, it came through and so did I. I remain manager going into the summer and this was my chance to show what I could do and hopefully bring some talent in to press for a higher finish next year around. But first I thought we'd take a quick look at my managerial stats after that short half a season in charge and the pre season expectations that board have laid on the line.
Nothing has really changed on my attributes, which is good as it shows SI have fixed the issue where managers suddenly jump up attributes ridiculous amounts in the first six months. But its good to see there is next to no changes made to these. The one stat that has changed is my motivating which has gone from a three to a four.
Here are my stats to date in terms of what I've been in charge and done on the pitch. And I thought it would of made for a little better reading than it does. I have taken charge of seventeen games and coming out as winner in seven of them, drawing five and only losing five which I'm pleased with. Its given me an overall win percentage of forty one whilst we have scored thirty three we've also conceded thirty one.
Onto next season and well, the board expect a much better season from us, as expected I suppose. They were strict and gave me just two options to choose from. I could either tell them we'd win the league or that we'd finish in the top half of the table, neither of which we did last season I've told them we will finish in the top half, now to prove it.

Thanks Tommo.
Yes, yes they do bmg033
Not as much as I had wished Simoncoyne but we are a feeder club to the other Redbull Salzburg side in Austria so I knew it wasn't going to be loads.
Pre Season Round Up 2015
The board didn't quite give me the money I felt I requireto push on and win the league. So another season where we will be targeting a top half finish and thats likely to be about it. I did make a little bit of work this summer in the transfer window as well as have a little bit of action on the pitch to see how a couple of new recruitments got on.
As well as losing our players we had on loan last season, we also went on to dismiss four more players this summer. Most of them have joined clubs around our level with Angeler joining SC Austria Lustenau on a free transfer. Daniel Ripic joins SV Matterburg for twenty four thousand pounds, Stefan Peric joins SV Godig for just nine hundred pounds whilst Manuel Haas makes the jump to the top tier, joining FK Austria Wien for forty three and a half thousand pounds.
I have only brought two players in this summer, spending eighty thousand pounds on one and bringing the other in for free, but I feel they will both be vital to our campaign this season. Firstly German goalkeeper Fabian Bredlow, joins from our affiliated RB Leipzig and he will be our new number one. Whilst central defender Christian Ramsebner joins us on a free and I'm hoping he can help sure up our defence a little.
These players have had a slight hit on the financial side of the club. We continue to lose money and are now over half a million pounds into the red and going to continue dropping it would seem. We are also five hundred pounds over our wage budget per week and with no transfer budget left I can't adjust it to help out either.
Not much to report back on the pitch this summer, two friendlies, two defeats. We then faced Austria Wien in the Cup first round and crashed out two one. Expectedly so against the top tier side but we didn't get embarrassed thats for sure after Dwamena gave us the lead so early on we hoped for a cupset but not this time around.

FC Liefering - July 2015
Here it was, the start of a new season, hopefully my first full season in charge as long as all goes well and more importantly we get off to a better start than the manager did last year! The faces I've brought in I'm confident will help out the squad, especially striker Fernandez who signed when I joined last year and scored plenty for half a season! How would we start this year around...
Not a bad way to start the league season, playing SC Austria Lustenau is usually a tricky tie and it proved it again here, however we came out trumps. We led through Dwamena in the second minute before Fernandez made it two nil before the break. The host struck two back in eight minutes to come on level terms before Dwamena netted seven minutes from time to seal an opening day win.
Well, needless to say I wasn't expecting to win this game, as we welcomed last years top division relegated side SC Wiender Neustadt but they proved little competition for us today at home. We fell behind in the eighth minute but then the tables turned. Dwamena netted from the spot to bring us level before Fernandez hit two in six minutes, putting us three one up. Second half we grabbed a fourth, and who else but Fernandez to secure his hatrick and a four one win.
Then a game I expected us to win, in which we were denied late on. Dwamena scored for the third league game on the bounce as he starts this season in superb style but second half a goal from the newly promoted travelling side proved enough to take a point from us, definitely two points dropped here.
Very happy with the way we've bounced back to winning ways and remain unbeaten for now four games to open the league season in great style. Kapfenerger SV 1919 were always going to be a tricky tie and when we fell behind after just ten minutes I thought it could be a long day. But Dwamena brought us level before the break and seventeen minutes from time, netted the winner for us and his second of the afternoon.
Ah the honeymoon of a start has come to an end here, TSV Hartberg really seem to be my bogey side! We took the lead through summer signing, centre back Ramsebner after just seven minutes. But a late rally from the travelling side saw them strike two goals in eleven minutes as they stole all three points from us.
I don't think FC Liefering sat this high at all last season, so to be second (and yes, we've been top of the table) is a great start for us and with us having our game in hand we could really press on and take the top spot back. Admittedly we are only five games into the new season but if we can continue this form there is no reason we can't shock the pack and take the top spot. Dwamena and Fernandez have been in fantastic form off the start this season netting seven and four respectively.

FC Liefering - August 2015
We had gotten off to a brilliant start in our opening five league games and to be sitting all the way up in second place, with a game in hand and a shot to go to the top of the table was definitely pleasing me let alone the board. Into August and it was a quieter month as we faced just three league games, but would our fine early form continue...
Close but no cigar, the side I beat twice in our comeback from relegation last season gets an early season victory over us here. They started better and led two nil in twenty one minutes. Fernandez pulled one back second half before SV Mattersburg went three one up. There was a second goal for our inform striker but no points this time around.
It was important we bounced back to winning ways as soon as possible, and as we returned home and welcomed FC Wacker Innsbruck, it came up trumps with us winning two one. Fernandez fired us into the lead in the ninth minute however the travelling side didn't give up and it was one a piece at half time. Halilovic pulled us back in front eighteen minutes from time as Wacker Innsbruck finished with ten men.
It was first place SKN St.Polten vs second place FC Liefering, we travelled to the league leaders and produced a seven goal thriller! Rasner fired us infront before the host pulled two goals out, including one from the spot, in two minutes. We then had to fight back second half, and we did that well Fernandez netting two in eight minutes to send us three two in front. Then came two goals in a minute. In the eighty second minute and two seconds, Ramsebner made it four two for us before fifty second later, Drga went up from kick off and pulled another one back for the host. Fortunately we held on to a big four three win.
And that win over SKN St. Polten has proved to be massive, we are one game short of the quarter way mark into the season and have returned to the top of the table with a tiny bit of breathing space. We sit just two points clear of second place and only three points clear of third and fourth place TSV Hartberg and SV Horn. We have scored the most this season, but a little open at the back its showing early doors.

FC Liefering - September 2015
On top of the table going into September was fantastic for a club that narrowly avoided relegation last season! But would we be able to continue the form through September and further into the season. Another quiet month as we faced just four league games. But no matter how many we played each month, it was how we performed in each game that would count.
Wow! Thats one way of starting the month. We welcomed SV Horn and smashed six past them! First half was the quieter half, Dwamena gave us the lead seven minutes before the break before Fernandez made it two nil on the stroke of the break. Second half SV Horn tried to fight back, netting three minutes into the second half. However we weren't going to throw this away, Fernandez went on to net a second half hatrick, taking him to four goals in the game before Ramsebner netted our sixth and final goal late on.
Time to go back through the starting fixtures, second time round, we welcomed SC Austria Lustenau and held on to a narrow two one victory. Once again my two strikers performed a clinical partnership to both net in the second half. Fernandez making it one nil before Dwamena made it two nil eight minutes from time. We switched off late on as the travelling side pulled one back.
Well SC Wiener Neustadt, who were relegated to this division last season, and we beat earlier in the season, got one back over us here as they well and truly beat us four one at their home ground. They led inside a minute and from then on I knew we were in trouble. Dwamena did level in the twenty second minute but two more goals from the host before the break put them in fine shape before a fourth for the host came in the second half.
The final game of the month also provided plenty of goals, five infact as we returned to winning ways against the leagues bottom club, beating WSG Swarovski Wattens four one. We led inside three minutes through want away midfielder Savic before Dwamena made it two nil The host pulled one back to make it two one at the break. Second half belonged to us through as Dwamena made it three one with eleven minutes to go and Fernandez also struck in injury time to add our fourth.
Twelve games in and we remain top of the table and now have a little bit of breathing space over the chasing pack, however I and the team know we can't let it off too much just yet, four points isn't much to write home about as FC Wacker Innsbruck will be hot on our heels for the rest of the season. SKN St. Polten are only a further point behind too.

FC Liefering - October 2015
Wrote the whole update, and managed to overwrite it when I was putting my November one together and lost it completely. This updat therefore isn't quite in as much detail as it was originally, but with our form good we went in to four more league games, including the battle with second place once again. Could our form continue.
The last six meetings against TSV Hartberg we've failed to win, this time we have done it though! Althought it started sourly with the host going one up from a spot kick inside ten minutes, we led at the break with Ebomwonyi and Dwamena netting. Second half Savic made it three one before Wiesinger was dismissed for us but it didn't stop us as Dwamena netted his second and our fourth late into injury time.
Four one, yet again and its not bad at home against Kapfenberger thats for sure. Fernandez gave us an early lead before an own goal and another spot kick from Dwamena made it three nil come half time. The travelling side pulled one back with half an hour left on the clock but a second for Fernandez just two minutes after sealed the win.
SV Mattersburg are really getting their form back against us this season. Last season it appeared we were their bogey side beating them twice, however this year they've beat us twice now following this four nil victory at our home ground. One goal before the break from the spot kick set them on their way with three in the second half.
It was first vs second once again, this time we were first though and welcoming second place SKN St. Polten and for the second time this season we come away with all three points against them. We were behind after five minutes and trailed at the break. However second half with my team talk ringing in their ears we turned it around with Dwamena, Fernandez and then Brandner netting in twenty one minutes to seal a three one victory.
We are now just two games short of the halfway stage of the season whilst being just three games short of the winter break! Could we keep this form for three more games, stay top and take a seven point gap into the winter break, surely then promotion was ours to throw away?

FC Liefering - November 2015
Here was the last month before the winter break, we had just three more matches to play before we could relax a little, enjoy the winter period before getting back to serious action. But before that, we had to try and get through these three remaining games, could we keep our form and our healthy points gap at the top of the table?
The goals keep coming, another trip to FC Wacker Innsbruck and this time a fantastic five two victory. We were two nil down inside half an hour and struggling, but we then thought our way right back into the game. Dwamena netted twice before the break, along with one from Fernandez to see us sit three two up. Second half the goals carried on with Dwamena netting his hatrick before Savic netted our fifth!
Wow! What a game this proved to be as SV Horn welcomed us and then beat us in a nine goal thriller, they came out on top five four. We were behind early on before Savic netted for us to level, however come the break we were four one down! We almost came back into this perfectly with goals from Dwamena and Wiesenger making it four three, but when SV Horn netted again it was game over despite a late second for Savic.
How else do you bounce back from losing five four? Winning five one of course, away at SC Austria Lustenau as well! We led through Dwamena before Savic, Wiesinger and Ramsebner netted within six minutes of each other to lead four nil. The host had one back before the break before Dwamena netted his second, from a spot kick.
Well we head into the winter break at the top of the second tier of Austrian football and sitting eight points clear of the chasing pack, the lead chasers are last years relegated side from the top tier so they are quickly turning their season around, looking for promotion back to the top tier. How different it all is a year on, last year they sat bottom of the table and nine points adrift of safety in eighth place, this year we are top by eight points.
Just a quick update on my strikers this season, scoring for fun and it would appear I've build a dream partnership here. Dwamena was already at the squad when I joined whilst I brought Fernandez in for a free, last January when I joined. They've both played all twenty competitive games this season, up top together and have netted twenty two and nineteen goals respectively.

FC Liefering - Winter Break 2015/2016
The winter has come and gone and its almost time to get back to competitive football once we've reviewed what happened over the quiet winter. Its not been a year since I took over here and as I said in my last post, how much has changed regarding our league position in a year! Unfortunately we are going to lose a few players on free transfers at the end of the season due to not wanting a new deal.
We've had a hard time of it in the winter on the pitch, really not much to take, most of the games we played were against teams better than us, the three we won were against the lower reputation teams you'd expect us to win. Hopefully the team won't take too much from this winter and we can go back to our flying competitive form.
Back to league form and we kick off the second half of the season with a one all draw with SC Wiender Neustadt, the last three games against each other has now seen us win one each and deservedly draw this one here. We went behind after twenty two minutes before our free scoring striker Fernandez struck an equaliser two minutes after the restart.

FC Liefering - March 2016
Back to a full month of league action and we had to put that awful winter right to the back of our mind and try and remember how we were playing and picking up results before the break. We went into March still sitting eight points clear despite the recent draw with second place. With six games to play for us over the next four weeks we really needed to pull the best results out available.
A draw to kick off this month meant it was back to back draws as we returned to competitive football ones more. We took the lead through a corner when centre back Caleta-Car nodded home. But it was to end one a piece as Helly netted for the host to grab a point.
This is what we needed, potentially the worst team in the league and all three points for us here at home. Dwamena netted for us in six minutes, firing in from close range. Kuleski was the man to put the game beyond doubt, netting our second just three minutes into the second half.
Well despite that win against TSV Hartberg last time around we returned to the usual result against them, losing! They took the lead three minutes before the break however we smashed back level immediately. coming straight back from kick off with Ramsebner of all people netting. But a goal sixteen minutes from time secured the win for TSV Hartberg.
Five goal thriller at SV Mattersburg as we claim our first win over them this season after three attempts. They led after just five minutes and were two goals to the good at the break. Second half we tried to turn things and it appeared to work. Dwamena netted our first before Ebomwonyi, in place for the injured Fernandez, netted twice, including the winner three minutes into injury time, secured the three two win.
Boring game really, but it was an important game not to lose, so to hold our own and take a point from Wacker Innsbruck will do perfectly.
So close to all three points, but blew it so late on! A goalless first half finally came in to life with half an hour to go when Ramsebner gave us the lead against the slipping side of SKN St. Polten. We even went on to add a quick second, two minutes later through Kuleski and I thought that was game over. But Drga had different views on the game, netting the equaliser in the second minute of Injury time to steal a point.
When you consider this month we faced second place, third place and fourth place sides, we've come away very good to still sit seven points clear in the league and now just ten league games to go! As every game ticks by I feel I'm getting ever so closer to my first piece of silverware and promotion to the top tier of Austrian football! But we won't celebrate too early! As I said, ten to go!

FC Liefering - April 2016
The penultimate month of the season, April, is upon us as we look to close out the 2015/2016 season in some sort of style, we were heading into the penultimate month seven points clear with ten still to go, we had five of those ten games here in April and I'll warn you now, it doesn't make for too pretty reading! It proved to be a very tough game for us.
Wow! This whole score one more than your opponent is becoming and interesting way of playing as we won six five against SV Horn here at home. We fell behind in seven minutes but Savic netted twice before the break. However Kreuzer made it two all with his second of the game, this one from the spot. Second half we netted four through an own goal, Rasner, Dwamena and Fernandez as well as Halilovic being sent off. We almost blew it though as SV Horn netted three goals in eight minutes later on to bring it back to six five.
Dammit!! We dominated the game, dominated chances, but we didn't score enough, seeing us lose four two at home, against the side bottom of the league, SC Austria Lustenau. We trailed two nil at the break before Fernandez brought us back in contention, I thought it may of been the turning point but two more goals for the traveling side saw us trail four one before Pires scored a consolation.
And we still can't get back on winning ways as we travelled to second bottom WSG Swarovski Wattens where we came back from a sixth minute goal with Dwamena netting in the twelfth minute and then again in the twenty fifth minute to seal his brace. But a minute later the host nabbed an equaliser and a point at that.
We needed these three points its fair to say that! Dwamena once again the man in the right place at the right time, as he has all season! Netting our opening in the twenty second minute and then doubling our lead and his tally five minutes before the break. Second half there was a late strike for the host, SC Wiener Neustadt, but we held on!
Poor once again! Not a lot more to say, we deserved more, yes! But we came away with nothing after a forty seventh minute gave travelling Kapfenberger a goal and all three points.
Uh oh! Pressures cooking now! We sit top with five games to go but our lead at the top is now down to just five points! We need to repick up our feet and our form to try and stop FC Wacker Innsbruck striking back at us now. Its quite close with the rest of the pack and no one is down or up just yet!

FC Liefering - May 2016
Here we go then! The final month of the season and boy was it going to get close! We were poor last month and truthfully, haven't really been ourselves since returning from the winter break! Luckily though we had a strong start to the season. Now with just five league games left for us we go into May, the final month, with just five points over second place! The chasing pack will look to hunt us down, could we hod our own...
Only our second victory from the past nine meetings against TSV Hartberg, but its a big victory for us! We led after three minutes through Savic before Fernandez made it two nil just after the break. The host then levelled through a spot kick before Dwamena made it three one to us. A late consolation goal came for the host.
Second place, vs first place, and second place win! FC Wacker Innsbruck will be hoping we slip up a couple more times now, this win brings them very close to us, within two points indeed! Their goals in the sixth and thirty ninth minute respectively guided them to all three points as we failed to battle back at all.
Back to back defeats! At this stage of the season! Blowing the lead twice! Its not good enough, we aren't holding our nerve what so ever! Dwamena netted the opening goal before SV Mattersburg levelled almost immediately. Savic then put us back infront and then netted our third. But two goals before the break saw the travelling side level at three a piece at half time. Whilst Pink went on to net the winner for SV Mattersburg.
Champions!! We did it the hard way, but our home tie against SKN St. Polten proved to be the one that clinched the top spot for us! We led through Dwamena after twelve minutes with want away midfielder Pires making it two nil to us. SKN St Polten struck one back through Harrer before Pires had his second, sending us three two up at half time. We went to add a fourth, Dwamena in the second half grabbing his second!
The final game of the season left us with nothing to play for as we travelled to SV Horn, but another topsy turvey game ended up all square between the two sides. The host led after eight minutes, Muller netting for them, not the German guy though! thank god! We then levelled through Fernandez before his in form strike partner Dwamena ended the season with a goal to put us two on up. Ten minutes before the break Winkler equalised for the host and grabbed a point as a goalless second half followed.
There it is, top spot but it proved to be close, we once held an eight point lead and end the season with just four points over FC Wacker Innsbruck! I'm not sure why they have promotion too, last season just one side went up and I looked into the top division and just one side are currently going down! Also its nice to see we scored ninety one goals, almost thirty more than the next best side, our defence let us down a little!
