Manager of the Month for an unbeaten month.
Jay Doyle has truly been my star player scoring 4 goals this month. Great to see him win an award.
Tommo.

But I'm sure that won't matter, 'cause you'll keep them up!

Simoncoyne lets hope it doesn't come to that playoff eh?
I really have got the pressure on Dan but I never choose an easy life as you can see. It will come good eventually.

3 Games to Go.
So last time out we were unbeaten going into the last quarter of the season, but that came to an abrupt halt as losing became a little habit of ours.
Two Losses back to back against Stranraer and Elgin City was hard to take especially because Elgin are battling with us to stay up so to lose 3 points on them could be the deciding factor. We were never really in the Stranraer game but we should have got something out of the Elgin match.
4 points out of the next 2 games is something to be proud of particularly against Montrose and Stirling. We played really well in these two game but true to form our results are so up and down and we need some stability in the ranks to help us rise up the table.
10 goals conceded in the next 2 against Annan and Albion Rovers concerned me. We need to sure up our defence, which is injury riddled but still should';t be conceding that many goals. Shame to lose both games here but onto the next match I always say.
Another 4 out of 6 available against Berwick and Peterhead. Seem to be able to cope against the top teams better than the bottom teams for some reason. Should have won against Peterhead as well but I won't be greedy, it's another point.
So with 3 games left in the season we lie 4 points behind Elgin City and we play against them in the last match of the season so if we can get to a 3 point margin then we might be able to perform the miracle escape.
Some other good news is that the board have decided to fund my coaching badges after asking for a few months.
Dan
Three games to save your season and another job mate.

DID WE DO IT?
East Fife (A)
A trip to East Fife was first on the cards and what an epic game it turned out to be. East Fife took a 3-0 lead which we pegged back to 3-1 then 4-1 then 4-4-2 then 5-2 going into the last 10 minutes. How we managed to get this back to 5-5 is beyond me but my players showed terrific spirit and fought to the end. 90+4 hit and my super sub Tahin came on to score the equaliser. 1 point gained. Elgin City lost 3-1 to Berwick, so the gap was down to 3 points.
Stranraer (H)
An important home game for us against a decent Stranraer team. A hugely important win especially because Elgin decided to beat East Fife in their game earlier in the day so we needed all 3 points to stay in contention of staying in the league. This game looked quite comfortable but for me it wasn't. I never believed we could close this game out but the lads did me proud. The gap remained at 3 points.
Elgin City (H)
So the important game came along. We took the lead which was too good to be true. Elgin then replied with 2 goals and I thought the miracle escape was over, but then we hit back and equalised in the 74 minute. This seemed to provide a momentum boost and a confidence boost to my team and we managed to grab what turned out to be the winner on the 80th minute which led to a nervous nail biting finish with Elgin City having a goal disallowed in the 89th minute. PHEW.
This led to the league table looking like this:
WE SURVIVED BY ONE GOAL. ONE GOAL THAT SAVED US.
EAST STIRLINGSHIRE AND TONGE SURVIVE TO LIVE ANOTHER DAY.

PRE SEASON AT THE SHIRE.
Only the four pre season friendlies as we have cup competitions coming up before the season starts, and I'm pleased with how they went. 4 wins out of 4 and some good performances from my new lads. Most of pre season was spent getting in some new lads to bolster the squad which was left depleted after a lot of my players were poached or left on a free due to not being good enough.
My transfers for the season are as followed:
Bryan Wharton will play at the centre of defence and should provide more than adequate cover for the recently departed Dunsmore who was my main CB last season. I tried to sign him back but he chose Dunfermline.
I got Gary Wilson in on loan to be a striker partner for McKenna and hopefully they will provide some goals to help us mount a title challenge.
Next up. The first few months of the season.

Wilc94 I'm hoping it will be.
Cheers Tommo. A good base to work from.
Simoncoyne Elgin went down after a playoff with Brora, I've drawn them in the Scottish Cup 2nd Round. Grudge match.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
An awful start.
So it all started with a great win in the Challenge Cup where I got a great win over East Fife. 3-2 was good enough and into the 2nd round we went.
A hard draw against Championship Hearts awaited me in the 1st round of the League Cup and we got absolutely hammered as I expected but a good learning curve for the players.
The first league game was at home against Forfar. I didn't expect to come away with a win but I'm really proud of the lads for digging deep. We were a bit fortunate but a great start for Jay Doyle and a great start for us.
The second round of the cup just wasn't meant to be as we got battered by Berwick. We were so poor I have nothing else to say.
4 games in the league followed without a single point being won. I'm so disappointed as I thought we were starting to build a team. Especially as we had beaten East Fife previously, I thought we could have done better in that game specifically.
A couple of games to finish the month, secondly against newly promoted Brora where we gained a point which was pleasing since they are sitting near the top of the table which is a good achievement for them.
This left the table looking like this:
I'm 2nd bottom with a total of 4 points. An awful start quite frankly but at least we aren't bottom. Tbh this is the highest I've ever been int he league in one of these updates Let's hope for a turn in form and some points on the board.

3 more wins, a lot of losses and a few draws combined altogether is not good form. Bottom of the league, and in trouble. This happened.
I have 5 games, to get 8 points. Usually that's possible, but with my form and team I'm doubting it, 5 games to save my career.
tongey
I played the 5 games, drew the first one, lost the second one, won the third one, won the fourth one and then lost the 5th one, so a grand total of 7 points. I needed 8 points to keep my job.
End of the day I had lost my love for East Stirlingshire so I'm quite happy to be out of the job, but I wish I had done it in better style.
I'm going to hopefully find a job somewhere but let's be honest, who is going to want to hire me?
I will continue and improve.

Next Stop: Belarus
So it didn't take long to realise that Fruit and Veg just wasn't good enough for the Scots, so Belarus was the next obvious choice. Some of you lesser football fans will have no clue who Smolevichi are, and for you people I present the information.
Playing in the Persha Liga, the board want me to challenge for promotion and as I've never managed here before, or know anything about the league, I will do my upmost to do this. I think with my previous record, I'm definitely the one who can achieve this
Johno
Good luck in Belarus

Half Way.
So it's half way through my first season in charge of Smolevichi, and things are a lot more steady than my previous three jobs. First of all I've had a steady squad for the majority of the season. I've had sound financial backing and haven't had any problems in that department.
Here are my results for the first 12 games in the league and my first round cup game.
As you can see, a very mixed bag but I'm more than happy with where I am. I feel that I can mount a challenge for the title from here if I get some luck thrown my way and it's about time I get some luck. The highlight of the first half of the season was definitely the 7-1 win against Minsk-2 who apparently hadn't conceded many before that game and I went and slotted 7 past them. The low point was definitely the 5-4 defeat to Gorodeya because I should have won that game.
An inspired few games for Kosmach who has definitely been on of my better players made him instantly my main striker. It's a shame that he got injured for 7 weeks however. I also have a set piece specialist in Tranchinskiy who seems to score most of his goals from free kicks.
This left the league table looking like this:
I'm in 7th with 18 points which is satisfactory. I'm currently 13 points behind the league leaders but they will slip up sooner of later. (I hope)
In other news. The chairman want's to sell the club so that's affecting my players apparently. let's hope that gets sorted out quickly enough and that a rich oil tycoon likes the look of living in Belarus and seeing the rise of a small time club.

THINGS ARE COMING TOGETHER
Nearing the end of the season and things aren't looking to bad for Smolevichi in Belarus. Not going to get promoted this season but we have the foundations for next season well in place. I've tied up all my players I wish to keep for next season and have identified the areas we need to improve on. The chairman also offered me a new contract:
When you're players are delighted you are staying, you know you are doing alright. In other news, the fans tried to take over the club but failed because they weren't happy with how the talks were progressing. It's a shame but our finances are pretty safe here. In the green and out of the red for once in my career.
The Fixtures:
Another mixed bag in the league but we are stable in the middle of the pack and rising instead of falling so that's always good. In the second round of the cup we lost on penalties to a team 3rd in the 1st division which made me proud and also a little disappointed but we were never going to win it.
The highlight of the past few games is once again against Minsk-2 in which we won 7-3. Huge win and good to see lots of my players on the scoresheet. No major disappointments or low points but we did lose against the top team when we could have pulled back bit of ground on them but this doesn't matter to much.
The league table looks a bit like this:
Sergey Kosmach has once again been the player to watch with 15 goals in 16 games. Hugely impressive performances and a special mention to Gleb Zakahran who came to me complaining he wasn't getting enough first team football, so I said prove it to me and he did. He's now a first team player every week.
tongey
So it's been a decent first season in charge of Smolevichi. I'm settled here in Belarus and I hope to get promoted second time round. A few new signings in key areas and I think we have a realistic chance. The remaining fixtures are listed below:
3 wins, 2 losses and a draw isn't a bad way to end the season however I could have won a few more instead of drawing and losing. This has definitely been a season worth reflecting on positively as I've built a decent squad.
The chairman will probably leave during the Summer due to lack of finances but hopefully someone will come in with a bit of money to help balance it all out. I've kept the wages low so that should always help.
Player of the season for me has definitely been Kosmach due to his invaluable goals in important matches.
