Hello fellow FM lovers! I have refrained from signing up to sortioutsi due to my A-Levels, but now they're over it seems an apt time to sign up and share what I hope will be my only FM2015 save!
I am starting with a Sunday League past experience and no coaching qualification to mirror real life, and my first job in football management is with League Two Stevenage, recently relegated.
Obviously taking over a team that has just come down from the division above is naturally difficult, but with my inexperience I am expecting this to be a real challenege - but one I am relishing. The aim will be to stabilise the club both on and off the field and work towards climbing up the football ladder. I will be giving regular updates on results and major incidents that occur. I hope you enjoy and stay tuned into what should be a tough and exciting journey.

Club Overview
Expectations
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/dG2fSda6pR5wdryC949Mo0Y97lnlJsl9f7GwOsOO.png

Quite pleased with these expectations to be honest. The board are clearly giving me an opportunity to show what I can do and have set realistic expectations given my experience in the game. There's plenty of room to exceed these though and enhance my reputation within the footballing world very early on in my managerial career. With the right additions to the squad; who knows?

Finances

A nice healthy bank balance at the moment, and hopefully that will increase after a few more season ticket sales. The projected balance doesn't look grey though and I will definitely have to keep on eye on that to ensure the club doesn't become financially unstable.

Pre-Season 2014/15
Transfer Activity

Very pleased with the business I have done in pre-season. I feel I have strengthened to both the team and the squad and I can't wait to see how they do in competitive action. There has been no departures as you can see, but I have put Chris Beardsley on the transfer list - unfortunately there are currently no interested parties. Profiles of the new signings are below:

I am delighted with the squad I have at my disposal. We needed to strengthen certain areas but I feel we have done that and am raring to go. It's always nice to have a big squad to deal with potential injury problems that usually occur over the course of the season.

A very productive pre-season campaign, barring the 1-6 home defeat to Bristol City. We have played some good stuff in the games we have played and I hope we can take this style of play (possession based) into the league. Charlie Lee, Chris Whelpdale, Bira Demeble and Connor Calcutt which is good news. They all signed contracts on less money as well which is always a bonus.

Yeah it is Dan, especially as a lower league club where finances are much tighter.

Coaching Badge

I thought it would be best to start this update to inform you all that I have started working towards my first coaching badge. I'm pleased the board agreed to it and it means I can enhance my reputation and influence on the training field.

Transfers

Another cost free loan and my second player to come in from Reading along with Dominic Samuel. Griffin adds real strength to the full back area and I was delighted that he agreed to spend the season with us!

August 2014
So the season made its introduction, and it was a mixed month for the club, with consistency and defending being the early issues.

My first game in football management was a fairly comfotable 3-1 win against Northampton. Darius Charles and Bira Dembele but us 2-0 up within 25 minutes and in control. Debutant Dominic Samuel then added a third after Northampton had pulled one back mid-way through the second half. A great way to start my career in football and hopefully a sign of things to come.

Next we took a trip to League One Walsall in the Capital One Cup, and this was a forgettable evening in the Midlands. After going 0-1 up just past the 20 minute mark through Charles' second in as many games, I was beginning to think that an upset could be on the cards. But it wasn't to be, as Walsall equalised just before half-time and turned on the style in the second half to complete a 4-1 win. A bad night at the office for me and the boys.

Then came our first league away game of the season against Dag & Red, where we came away with our three points to maintain our early 100% record to the season. Olly Lee and another goal from Charles set us off to a flyer within 15 minutes. After the break, we were pegged back to 2-2, before Tom Eaves, the loanee from Bolton, and Jon Ashton restored our two goal lead and we travelled back to Hertfordshire with a 2-4 victory in the bag.

We then found ourselves up against promotion favourites Bury, who condemned us to our first defeat of the season. Nardiello scoring all four of their goals which is frankly awful in our perspecitve. We pegged them back twice to 2-2, one of which coming from Charles to keep up his fine form and start to the season. But Nardiello then scored his second double of the day before what proved to be a consolation from summer signing Josh Falkingham. My first league defeat in football and I was particularly disappointed by our defensive display.

Another goalfest followed away to Wycombe. To sum up who topsy-turvy this game was, it went: 1-0, 1-1, 2-1, 2-2, 2-3, 3-3, 4-3, 4-4. Some silly defensive errors again cost us, but we were strong from set pieces, where three of our goals came from and in the end saved us from losing the game. Four games in and we had scored 14 and conceded 11. The amount of goals scored is pleasing but the amount conceded is very worrying.

We finished the month with a bore draw at home to a Newport side that had won all four of their opening games. There wasn't really anything to comment on the match. I was pleased with the clean sheet though and hopefully that is the end of our leaky defending.

September 2014
A brilliant second month of the season for the lads, picking up 11 points from 15 against temas who had had great starts to the season.

A 'smash and grab' victory away to Tranmere started the month. We had two shots all game, but one of which was a fantastic volley from Roarie Deacon on the edge of the area. A typical away win and it meant we had recorded two clean sheets in a row.

Our inconsisent home form continuted though, as we succumbed to a 1-3 loss against Wimbledon. A very bad performance from the players and the Dons really did deserve to come away from the Lamex with all three points.

Another 1-3 scoreline followed suit, but only this time in our favour away to Mansfield. A brace from Tom Eaves and an OG from thir 'keeper meant that me, the players and the travelling 'Boro fans would be making a happy trip back down south.

We then recorded our second win in four days with an impressive 1-0 win against table toppers and unbeaten Shrewbury. It was a moment of genius that decided it - Tom Eaves scoring again with a 50 yard strike after a poor free kick from the Shrewsbury 'keeper. A brilliant win and one that I hope would give the lads real confidence.

We ended the month with another tough game, this one an away trip to Oxford, who sat nicely 3rd in the league. After a tight first 45, the U's got the opener early in the second half. Eaves then equalised seven minutes from time with his fourth in three games. I shouldve come away delighted with the point, but I wasn't. Charlie Lee had the chance to snatch all three points in the 88th minute, but his penalty smashed against the bar before bouncing clear. A point on the board, but it could've so easily been three...
Table
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/wuxtwREeGQce7vzRynNdZnORUyPfAnQZHFl8LicF.png

So, ten games in and I am very pleased with where we are in the table. Some great results in September against teams in and around the promotion spots have seen us rise up the table, and there are plenty of positives to take from the first couple of months, such as our unbeaten away form. I guess the only negatives are our defensive record in August and our sketchy form in our own backyard. But with the club sitting 4th in the league and the defence seeming to be more tight there is plenty of optimism around the camp at the moment - and long may it continue!
