It wasn't brilliant Shedender but nor was it awful I'd say!

Yes Gendo exactly that, we need to try and stay top and keep a little gap.

The penultimate month of the calender year was here and I must say, 2022 has been one of my favorites years to date I think. We've been superb and having now been away from Rhyl for almost two years, things were really looking up as I tried to bare in on my second trophy of England, however there is a long way to go yet.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/jiqEWw3e0QseaioYg2OAf86dH0U3FZLO5vMzhfIn.png

Well, we certainly bounced back to our good form alright! In the league we dropped just two points from five games as we didn't lose for a month once again. Whilst we did crash out the FA Cup but it was expected when we travelled to league one side Yeovil Town.

The month began at home, welcoming Harrogate who we dispatched of after a nervy start. We trailed within ten minutes and things weren't going well. But Fitzpatrick and McNerney netted second half goals to keep our good form.

We crashed out the FA Cup in the First Round, the round the board wanted us to get to as we travelled to League One side, my beloved Yeovil Town. We lost two nil, not an embarrassing performance thats for sure.

I was pleased to see the cup exit didn't affect league form as we beat Hereford one nil away from home. Sheppard netting his first of the month in a one nil win.

Our only dropped points in the league was at home against Lincoln, shortly after I was offered a job interview there. Connor put us ahead in sixteen minutes but at half time it was all level. Second half Sheppard put us back infront but the travelling side grabbed an equaliser shortly after.

A narrow one nil win for us came in our penultimate game of the month when we travelled to Nuneaton. Jay Connor with another goal for us.

The month would end with a 'record win' for the division, we stuff Gateshead seven one at home.We were simply unstoppable here. Lewis netted our first then the goals rained in. Connor netted a fourteen minute hatrick, Barrett had one whilst Sheppard netted two in seven minutes in the second half.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/sKKVRagIUgSR6cUa5L2TWD0OHghcJTcySd68kmdv.png

So we now move seven points clear after twenty three games! Halfway in the league and things are looking superb whilst we have already netted sixty six times we should end up scoring over one hundred for a second season running. We could also hit one hundred points again if our form remains around where it is now.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/dQXNlCBqpumYDVag1HRgylrP63iTN5sJbHmy1HZ4.png

Good piece of news number one, I can now try and get them to fund my continental A license, only two licenses from the top now.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/neiut7fPAIeT15NhaTYLs3Yxj6PqyyoC7L6yQGZa.png

Good piece of news number two, my third manager of the month in four months this season now I think.

*I also got an interview with Barnet in League Two who were second at the time, rejected it of course!

Woking FC - December 2022

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/atY1HVYI3Np19QAqQfMFtD8mfWvCITWoiJsVoJ89.png

Here was the final month of the calender year and over the festive period we needed to try and be at our best once again. We've been superb this season this far, out the FA Cup but running the league as it stands as well as beginning the FA Trophy run, which the board expect us to win. My second Christmas in England. By the end of this month Woking become the longest job I've been in to date.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/IfZxCwF0sPNSslInN8kMKGcbm1l0uX4IcH4pvqfi.png

Another near perfect month, one slip up in six games and I can't really complain once again. We faced five league games, winning four of them and losing one whilst we also advanced from the FA Trophy First Round after a narrow escape.

The month began at home welcoming Morecambe who we beat three one. We were one nil down before Goddard levelled before the break. Second half Clarke put us infront before Lynn netted three minutes before time to secure the win.

The FA Trophy drew us at home welcoming Havant & Waterlooville who we beat after Extra Time, we were brilliant just couldn't score. Eventually Lewis did find the net in the first half of extra time whilst Fitzpatrick made it two nil from the spot five minutes from time, a cup the board expect us to win is really on.

Our third game at home on the bounce and the final one before Christmas saw us welcomed Macclesfield and saw a five goal thriller swing our way. Sheppard netted his first of December whilst Cowling also found the net in the first half, seeing us two up. We conceded one after the break before Lynn made it three one, seven minutes from time. We conceded in injury time.

Our first away game of the month came on Boxing Day as we fell to a one nil defeat against Bromley.

Two games and two clean sheets would end the month and year. First we beat Wycombe away, five nil! Sheppard netted another two, either side of the game whilst Lewis, Barrett and McNerney also found the net for us.

We ended the calender year with a three nil win at home against Boreham Wood, back to back clean sheets was pleasing. O'Conor netted after fourteen minutes whilst Sheppard made it two nil just a minute after the break and Turner secured the win.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/CsPf0PndZqEFaQJeDWWM26gZN0MpEUI8wzJvDyuN.png

Well we go into the New Year top of the table and now nine points clear of second place Aldershot who certainly aren't letting us run away with it this year. Macclesfield in third are only ten points behind too, a bad run in for us over a month and we would be back under the coshh you'd feel.

Happy New Year! A second New Year running I spent it here in England and more importantly at Woking for a second January running. Its all gone swimmingly so far with one league title under our belts, this year is going well with us going into the New Year top of the table and still in the FA Trophy to date.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/iIjhLEl48TMlIkBcWAq6Z3pAWzMVNyXvrgkORMQj.png

Our form has remained superb going into the New year and so is our defence as it looks to finally be tightening up. This month we faced five games which saw us keep four clean sheets and concede just two goals. We won three league games and two FA Trophy Rounds. We also went five games without conceding a goal before the second Wrexham game.

The New Year started with us welcoming AFC Wimbledon and it was brilliant, winning four nil. Superb performance from our front two as Sheppard netted one and Jay Connor netted a superb hatrick.

Our fourth clean sheet on the bounce came as we welcomed Harrogate in the FA Trophy Second Round, winning two nil. We left it late to dump them out the competition but Goddard and Lewis netted to secure our spot in the Third Round.

Back to league action we travelled to Wrexham where we claimed our fifth clean sheet on the bounce in a one nil win. Sheppard netting a spot kick in the second half.

We stayed in Wrexham for the week as the faced them in the FA Trophy Third Round, dispatching them again. Connor gave us the lead with Lewis making it two nil in twenty one minutes. We conceded three minutes later but before half hour was played Sheppard put us three one ahead. We conceded in the second half, bringing the game closer than it needed to be.

The month ended with a clean sheet as we beat Ebbsfleet away from home two nil. One goal in the first half, coming from Mike Cestor whilst one came in the second half with Connor netting his fifth goal in five games this month.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/yg3NmpqsqAXO5nKFaiPYDE6KVCsg48B91mCpU47v.png

We move eleven points clear at the top of the Conference Premier and its looking more and more likely that we will be playing league football net season! We also have a game in hand and could move up to fourteen points clear if we can make the most of it.

Woking FC - February 2023

Well into February and we just kept plugging away. With the squad really happy with the league position and the board also very happy whilst they are also expecting the FA Trophy which we look to push on in.

http://i.imgur.com/aAUfia7.png?1

I can't really complain about two defeats in eight games which we faced over just twenty four days. It was a busy twenty four days where we picked up six wins along with two defeats.

The month began away at FC Halifax in the FA Trophy Fourth Round who we went on to beat two one. We were two nil up, Connor netting both before we conceded in the second half however we were into the Semi Finals!

Our first league game of the month saw us welcome Forest Green and win two one. Connor and McNerney both netting before the break. We once again conceded in the second half but were home and dry.

Our first of two defeats this month came with a trip to Tamworth who we lost two one again. Our only goal came from Jay Connor, as he was scoring for fun lately.

Staying away from home we travelled to FC Halifax for the second time this month and for the second time we beat them two one this month. This time we trailed at the break but came back as Connor netted the equaliser and his fifth goal in four games and then Sheppard netted ten minutes from time.

Our only clean sheet of the month came when a trip to Gateshead came around in the FA Trophy Semi Final first leg. Both our goals came in the opening eleven minutes and Lewis and an own goal secured the two nil win.

The biggest win this month came as we welcomed AFC Telford who we beat four one. Connor netted a hatrick, continuing his superb month whilst Cowling also netted for us.

The FA Trophy Semi Final second leg saw us welcome Gateshead and dispatch them three two, leaving it five two on aggregate. Barrett, Lewis and Sheppard all netting for us in the second leg, sending us into the FA Trophy Final next month against Conference North side Stockport.

We would end the month welcoming second place side Aldershot and they closed the gap on us here, losing out two one. We led through Sheppard after twenty two minutes but things soon turned sour.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/Pk1QYlHOkCodV3jdLj2W66CWgLdffNkeA3kvrPgZ.png

With ten league games left this season we remain ten points ahead of Aldershot who occupy second place but it won't be an easy run in. We've got a busy couple of months remaining this season. The lowest we can currently finish this season is down in twelfth, that better not happen...

Woking FC - March 2023

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/atY1HVYI3Np19QAqQfMFtD8mfWvCITWoiJsVoJ89.png

The penultimate month of the league season was here and it was time to try and win the FA Trophy as well as secure ourselves with life into the footballing league for next season. We weren't too far away now and with the form we were in you'd be surprised if we didn't make it now, but we faced a couple of busy months.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/uMf3wwYFBW9UyiVmt2VoCcSlPwBsKaQG3nFCx7q3.png

March saw us play through six games, five in the league and then we'd end it with the FA Trophy Final against Stockport, more on that later. We stayed unbeaten in March through the league with three wins and two draws, no clean sheets though.

First off a trip to Sutton Unite which produced a seven goal thriller. Our goals came from Sheppard who netted twice, including one from the post, Cowling and Lynn.

A one all draw away at Northampton then followed. Both goals came after eleven minutes. We led in nine through Connor but conceded two minutes later to settle for a point.

Back to winning ways as we returned home and beat Braintree five goals to two. We started quickly as Goddard, Connor, Sheppard and McNerney all had goals before the break. Second half Sheppard would add our fifth as it was all straight forward for us.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/3I2QoqPm1OnQ7iQTlGGS8VHNaOCg3Jgh1GKgj4dG.png

We drew at home against Dartford, it was marked by the milestone of my one hundredth game in charge of Woking. We trailed two nil at the break, playing poorly but the players lived up to the milestone with Lynn and Sheppard netting to secure us a point.

Our final league game of the month saw us travel to Chester and win three one. Goddard and Sheppard gave us a quick start seeing us two up at the break. We conceded one but McNerney secured the win with our third just three minutes from time.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/bKuU7uO5v5A3bctPGf7X0vOSQ2Ez11IIqdmVFXas.png

Well, the playoffs are secured for the end of the season but its looking likely to be so much more come the end. We sit twelve points clear of second place Aldershot with just five games to go, they have four games to go so if we win our net one the title is ours! We've scored over one hundred goals once again for a second season running and look set to bag over one hundred points again.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/Uk08EFPIXa4bOvWTI6qxc6YB1G28LmOO593sHFcr.png

Champions! Trophy number two here in England ticked off with number three not far away hopefully. The FA Trophy is ours with ease this year. The Final drew us against Conference North side Stockport who we beat five one. Lewis put us ahead early on before Connor made it two nil. It was two one come half time as Stokport grabbed one through young striker Ormsby. Second half Lewis had his second, Sheppard then made it four one as he grabbed a goal before Lewis completed his hatrick four minutes from time.

Woking FC - April 2023

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/atY1HVYI3Np19QAqQfMFtD8mfWvCITWoiJsVoJ89.png

Here it was, the final month of the 2022/2023 season and once again its been a superb season, we've already secured the FA Trophy last month as well as at least a playoff spot for the end of the season. However we only needed one point from our last five games to ensure the top spot and automatic promotion whilst needing seven points to break the 100point mark for a second season running.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/cZpbTbYHXaFbYdPgZ5XloFkkJPW9XezI2fg9G1Py.png

Five games to end the season in April and it wasn't a bad ending, we needed a point for the league title, which you can see we got against Harrogate, we needed seven points to break the one hundred mark for a second season running, which we did, picking up ten in our last five games.

The month began with a stalemate against Harrogate, the game ended one a piece as Goddard netted for us to save us from losing seventeen minutes from time.

We beat Hereford comfortably at two one. Connor putting us ahead before we were level second half. We ended up leaving it very late with Goddard netting five minutes into injury time.

A disastrous game against Lincoln saw us lose out four nil.

We bounced back to end the season with two 'three one' victories. First dispatching Gateshead for the fourth time this season. We beat them with a Jay Connor hatrick.

And we'd end the season at home against Nuneaton also winning thee one. Goddard netted after eleven minutes. Fitzpatrick netted our second before the break whilst Lynn netted our final goal of the season.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/NUjhLhidqRW0hyD9MQlgSAWF1aVhAATLwUGLLR4H.png

We do break the one hundred point barrier narrowly, having one hundred and three come the end of the season. Interestingly last season Barnet won the league with one hundred and four points. Aldershot pushed us the whole way but on the final day slipped to third with Harrogate claiming a high second place finish.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/jGhaY2N7ElZSHLhAxYBr35jgGkVVsrEZaxf3x8Y8.png

And with just two months remaining on my current deal I've signed an extension here at Woking. Not really sure how far I will and even can possibly take them, but for now I'm enjoying my time with them and I've signed a new two year deal keeping me here till June 2025 should things go to plan.

Just a quick post with a couple of awards for the team come the end of the season, annoyingly for a second year running I narrowly missed out on manager of the year, finishing second again! Also just a few managerial stats as I don't think I've shown them off in a while.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/q05tfpWDYMVoo5Qpl160z3cd5wdYZNlA6XW0iaOQ.png
https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/EysVi18wO6BeckFBvG4AOMg7zZ5EmDdzhmnSBMai.png

Goddard was named player of the year, he was superb for us, didn't score as many this season, wasn't on spot kicks this year but performed well with an average rating of seven point three eight. Whilst Kaine Sheppard won the Golden Boot for the division. He scored thirty six goals in the league this season whilst Connor finished second with thirty three goals.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/MsLa30vwDc1aYHruYjlWobPcacVXO657CtfKeUjx.png

Interesting stats first off. Its good to see all the blue bars are nearing the top now. My weakness seems to be loyalty to players but whilst I'm managing in the lower leagues theres always going to be high turnover in players and I just need to try and keep the team happy and as strong as possible. My coaching attributes seem to be highest in defence coaching and mental coaching not sure why attacking coachings only eight when we've scored over two hundred goals in the last two season.

I've been in charge of Woking two seasons now having spent seven hundred and thirty one days in charge. Along the way I've seen my team play one hundred and seven games, winning seventy eight of them (seventy two percent) whilst drawing eighteen and losing just eleven in two years. We've scored almost three per game at two hundred and ninety five goals whilst conceding one hundred and thirty nine. I've also picked up two league wins and promotions at Woking and one Cup win.

My overall career stats now see me played three hundred and sixty seven games whilst winning two hundred and thirty six, drawing fifty five and losing seventy six. Along the way we've almost scored a thousand goals as we've scored nine hundred and thirty four goals, conceded five hundred and sixty five. Four cup wins, seven league wins, three promotions.

**The board didn't approach me with league expectations this year, but they expect me to avoid relegation whilst the media tip us to finish twenty second out of twenty four! A tough season awaits.

Woking FC - Pre Season Review 2023

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/atY1HVYI3Np19QAqQfMFtD8mfWvCITWoiJsVoJ89.png

Here we go again, a very busy summer has come and gone and with transfers flying in and out the door it was always going to be tough to strengthen the squad. However on the pitch things weren't quite as straight forward this summer.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/hoEV4QAjWFVuRB0xqQIb9nuF2Vb9cKc5uPbKgZNb.png

As always, players leave on free transfers this summer. We couldn't make any money for the transfers and the players leaving. In total we saw six players exit the club as we tried to strengthen for what was to be a tough season.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/Xl2ZSPAFayiGfOqHO4l7iayaSIQpVyF9P0tIpwxp.png

Some more faces in than went out. We brought in Luke Munn and Antony Molloy on loan deals, then brought in four players on free transfers whilst we have spent just over one hundred thousand pounds to strengthen the side this year. *If you wish to see any players attributes just ask.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/jsNNncm1VXZj6MT0yQN95VnEK8yCOQnMoSgufMKl.png

Genuinely very happy with how the squad looks going into our first season in the footballing league. A squad size of twenty two players gives us plenty of rotation and potential quality in the side, we just need to try and ensure we can keep things ticking over steadily, as we have the last couple of seasons. *If you wish to see any players attributes just ask.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/qNOnENy5zju425UYmsZPsMMLc4p2LOiGKQwF6nA8.png

As I said earlier, the summer was horrendous on the pitch as we lost all six of our friendlies, many of them we should of been winning as well. However I am pleased that the one game we did win this summer was over Harrogate in the Capital One Cup Preliminary Round, winning two one with Tomkins netting his first goal for the club three days after joining and Sheppard netting his first of the season.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/atY1HVYI3Np19QAqQfMFtD8mfWvCITWoiJsVoJ89.png

Time to see how we would fare in the footballing league. After back to back promotions you could debate we are a strong side, also that we've come up very quickly which could cost us. Five games in the month to open the league season.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/uRkI6Hm7R4TcCNOqIoublkZOYNlP6uQ3v3hciJOQ.png

Well, not brilliant but I suppose I can't grumble too much. Five games in August, four in the league of which we won two and lost two, whilst we also crashed out the Capital One Cup expectedly against Barnsley.

We began the season away at Bristol Rovers where we came back from behind at half time to win two one. Marcio and Munn both netted their first goals for the club securing the right start to the season.

Barnsley dumped us out the Capital One Cup in the First Round, expectedly so I must say as they are a division above us. Sheppard netted our late consolation goal.

In the league our first home game saw us lost out two nil to Mansfield as we played very poorly.

We didn't improve on the road against Crawley either as we slipped to a three one defeat, our goal coming from Tompkins but still we didn't play that well at all.

We ended the month the way we started it, with a two one win. We welcomed York and narrowly escaped with victory after starting so well. Sheppard netted after three minutes with Hughes making it two nil in seven, we nearly blew it though conceding in the second half but holding on.

https://sortitoutsi.net/uploads/mirrored_images/O9vvBtmxspU9BJIBSVtqwXOWIvLlMPhh7gyJoz6t.png

Whilst its not an awful start, we have points on the board early on and are sitting comfortable around the middle of the pack. We aren't too far off slipping into the playoffs early on but I'd just be happy to secure our fate in this league for the next season.

Well, not too bad in theory, its whats expected to survive the season, two wins, one draw and three defeats in the league. We've gone another two games where we've failed to score and failed to keep clean sheets again this month.

We drew two a piece with struggling Southend to open the month. We trailed two nil for the majority of the game however two goals in a minute, five minutes from time saw us grab a point as McNerney and Hughes netted.

The first win of September came as we beat Torquay in a five goal game, three two. All our goals came in the first half with Sheppard netting after seven minutes and Tompkins netting two, first after eight minutes and his second on the break. Torquay netted two in the second half.

We lost at home to Carlisle, slipping to a heavy three nil defeat.

It got worst as we travelled to Oldham and failed to score once again, losing four nil this time!

Luckily we got back on winning ways when Cambridge visited us and we dealt a three two win. Our goals came from Frimpong, and Sheppard netting two second half goals, including one from the spot as he looked to kickstart his season.

We'd end the month with a three one defeat at Luton. Poor showing again. Only good news is Sheppard netted for us.

Well, we sit up in fifteenth place which really isn't too bad seeming we are predicted down in twenty second and the board want us to avoid relegation. But form just doesn't seem to be coming together for us.

On a side note, I've decided if a better job comes available I will take it. This career is about ticking off countries and trophies as quickly as possible and whilst I debated taking Woking through the leagues for the hero challenge, I prefer to try and tick England off.

The topsy turvey season continues and with only a couple wins recorded so far this season, we need to try and get back on track. If we could get a couple wins on the bounce we could really get somewhere.

Dammit, still not quite consistant, not awful though, we only lost twice this month but only won once!

We drew at home to start October with Leyton Orient. We had to come back from behind with Connor netting the equaliser late on.

We crashed out the Johnstone's Paint Trophy in the Second Round, losing out one nil against Cheltenham.

A three one defeat then followed when we travelled to Portsmouth. Still not brilliant, we trailed three nil at one point before Sheppard scored late on.

We beat Cheltenham three one at home, our first and only win this month. Lewis netted twice for us before Munn also had one. Our three goals came before the break.

Two draws to end the month. First we left it late to grab a one all draw with Stevenage as Tompkins netted eight minutes from time,

We ended with a two a piece draw against Harrogate at home. Goddard and Connor both netted first half goals for us.

We are now sitting fourteenth after fifteen league games, still not looking too bad as its easily beating the expectations however I'm still no closer to clinching a trophy again any time soon. The Coventry job is available after their manager joined the vacant Bristol City post in League One, tempted to apply till the end of the year?
